This is a patched version of an official vanilla mach_kernel from Mavericks 10.9.5, allowing Z87 Haswell motherboards capable of booting without reboot loops or kernel panics. The following perl scripts have been applied to the vanilla mach_kernel for 10.9.5: #1 perl -pi -e 's|\x74\x6c(\x48\x83\xc7\x28\x90\x8b\x05..\x5e\x00\x85\x47\xdc)\x74\x54(\x8b\x4f\xd8\x45\x85\xc0\x74\x08\x44\x39\xc1\x44\x89\xc1)\x75\x44(\x0f\x32\x89\xc0\x48\xc1\xe2\x20\x48\x09\xc2\x48\x89\x57\xf8\x48\x8b\x47\xe8\x48\x85\xc0\x74\x06\x48\xf7\xd0\x48\x21\xc2\x48\x0b\x57\xf0\x49\x89\xd1\x49\xc1\xe9\x20\x89\xd0\x8b\x4f\xd8\x4c\x89\xca)(\x0f\x30\x8b\x4f\xd8\x0f\x32\x89\xc0\x48\xc1\xe2\x20\x48\x09\xc2\x48\x89\x17\x48\x83\xc7\x30\xff\xce)\x75\x99(\x5d\xc3)\x90{7}|\x74\x73${1}\x74\x5b${2}\x75\x4b${3}\x66\x81\xf9\xe2\x00\x74\x02${4}\x75\x92${5}|g' mach_kernel #2 perl -pi -e 's|(\x25\x1c\x00\x00\x00\x48\x8d\x0d..\x5e\x00\x3b\x01)\x74(\x11\x48\x8d\x3d...\x00\x44)|${1}\xeb${2}|g' mach_kernel I take no credit for the creation of the perl scripts used. Mavericks MBR patch

    Version 10.9.5

    18,819 downloads

Patched OSInstall.mpkg and OSInstall framework to allow installation on MBR partition. To use these patched files you must create an installer using this method (Pandora's Box should also work). You can't just run the app downloaded from Mac App Store. After creating the installer, run this command in terminal replacing "installer volume name" by the name of your installer drive. If it contains spaces, surround the name by " or precede each space with \ (you can just drag and drop the drive to terminal when typing the command) sudo tar zxvf ~/Downloads/Mavericks_10.9.5_MBR_Patch.tar.gz -C /Volumes/"installer volume name" If you download with Safari, it will automatically expand the gz, so the command should be sudo tar xvf ~/Downloads/Mavericks_10.9.5_MBR_Patch.tar -C /Volumes/"installer volume name"
  3. Hello I'm having audio issues with my Dell Vostro 2520's microphone with VoodooHDA The internal microphone isn't detected, yet the microphone audio port is detected, and works. According to Windows and Dell, my laptop has the Cirrus Logic CS4213 codec in it, so if that's important, there it is. I am on Mavericks 10.9.5, since that works the best on this laptop, but would be open to try newer versions if things work well enough. I can provide my DSDT if needed.
  4. Hey guys so this is my first post, I apologize if I leave something out or this has been answered, but I cant seem to find it. So I have been trying to get os x 10.9.4 or later installed on my PC. Specs Windows 7 SP1 X64 AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8 GHz Gigabyte GA-880GMA-UD2H DDR3 4GB Ram ATI Radeon HD 4250 AMD High Definition Audio Device I installed VMware Workstation 10 and used the Unlocker 1.3. Added the VM for OS X 10.9, Removed the "firmware = efi" when I attempt to boot using the .vmx IDE torrent "os x mavericks 10 9 retail vmware image" I get to Loading Darwin/X86 screen and it just keeps spooling. I don't know how to get past that screen and get to the installation. I installed Virtualbox 4.3.12 and used the Niresh ISO. I finally got OS X installed using the amd64 flag and added the graphics for 1080p. It runs pretty slow in Virtualbox but at least it boots. When I try to upgrade to 10.9.5 uding the app store, the purpose of having OS X is to use Xcode which needs 10.9.4+, it boots to the Guru Meditation error. I am really lost here and have been reading forums and install guides for the past week. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for everything so far guys. P.S what is the fasting more stable software to use VMware or Virtualbox? Can I install OS X 10.9.5 on either one using AMD?

    Alienware 17 won't update

I followed the Alienware tutorial here http://www.niresh.co...17-r5-tutorial/ Did everything to spec. The creator has the same laptop specs as me as well. My config: Alienware 17 i7 4800qm 780m GTX 16 GB Ram BCM43xx Wifi Killer e2200 Network Card It boots, but didn't have any sound and the 780m GTX cards fan was on high as soon as it started. I have installed all of the Kext files with kextwizard. Then I tried to update it using the bundled update 10.9.1...10.9.5.(this was after Niresh's files were done being modified by the system). When It called for a restart I restarted it and it restarts immediately. Then I tried -x -v. It wouldn't even try to work for me. It restarted so fast that i couldn't even see where it failed, but I'm assuming it's the kernel. SO what I did was reinstall and save the kernel and kexts. I updated and replaced my kernel and kexts and it restarts with no flags and will freeze at GeForceSensors (pci1): started. Nothing more happens and I let it sit there for a good 20-30 minutes. Then I removed all Geforce kexts. It freezes at Resetting IOCatalogue. I am at a loss. I need it updated at least to 10.9.3. Any ideas? I am willing to restart from scratch if anyone has already worked on an Alienware 17 and have been able to update it. If you have or know of how to do this please let me know. I am a ruby developer and my current macbook is having kernel panics with the GPU and I would rather work on my Alienware(it's 1000 better than the macbook despite how big it is). Thanks for any input.
  8. Hi everyone, I'm having a weird issue, when I do certain tasks the OS freezes and becomes unresponsive, at that point the only way to "fix" that is force shutdown pressing the power button from laptop. The only two ways I reproduce that are: Using Box Sync, when that program starts syncing after a while (not to much) the OS hangs At first boot when OS restores opened programs and Google Chrome has a few tabs (like around, I don't know, 30 for example), Chrome starts restoring every tab and OS hangs after a little bit (while restoring tabs) Anybody experienced this or have any ideas about it? Thanks in advance. Spects: Dell Inspiron 3420 Intel Core i3 2328M 8GB 1333Mhz DDR3 Intel HD Graphics 3000 512MB SATA 500GB OS X Niresh Mavericks 10.9 + Update 10.9.5 from Mac App Store GPT (GUID Partition Table) Bootloader Clover UEFI Any other data you may need just ask me. Best regards.

  11. Hi all, I tried to install Mavericks on my laptop. Everything works fine except 3D acceleration. I install my laptop according to the following installation guide, because my laptop has the same configuration: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/293109-guide-dell-l421x-xps-14-late-2012-os-x-mavericks-109-installation/ If I install 10.9.0 everything fine. But if I install 10.9.5 there is no 3D acceleration. Do I need to patch the newer kexts? (AppleGraphicsPowerManger, AppleIntelFramebufferCapri) I use both installation the kexts from the XPS 14 install guide. I hope somebody can tell me a good start point how I can solve this issue.
  12. Hi all, I have a partitioned HDD w/ Win7 and Mavericks 10.9, I want to update to 10.9.5 but I fear that it might destroy my partitions if it fails... so my question is.. is it advisable to upgrade my OS via the appstore? will it break my partitions? coz my windows partition is also important... I'm on an Ivy bridge laptop, if that information is of any help..I'm new to updating so can you please enlighten me about this? Thanks in advance.
  13. I have MacBook Pro 13-inch, Early 2011, Processor 2.3 GHz Intel, 8 GB Memory. Running OS X 10.9.5. I have bought new SSD, installed partitioned/formated and installed 10.9.5 from scratch. So far, so good. I would like to ask, what is, in your opinion, the best method to migrate user and SOME of his/her data, settings and profile? Background: It is my wife computer, no critical stuff, not many 3rd party apps, but profile was historically migrated few times and is full of "junk". I can do things like 1/ CCC or another block copy, but that would take everything, literally everything. I probably do not want that. 2/ There is some recovery from Time Machine, I never tried, is it any good? How selective can I be in what to recover? 3/ There is migration assistant, again, little to no experience with that one, how selectively can I select what moves and what stays? 4/ Manual cp of selected folders or whatnot [which ones?] from old user directory? What is good or best approach and why? I definitely want to have 1/ her music 2/ her photos in iPhoto 3/ her emails 4/ her documents / desktop items / downloads 5/ her favorites in Safari? is it good idea? there will be like 1000 of them... 6/ passwords? 7/ suggest what am I missing? I might be missing some, can you suggest, what do you usually migrate for a user? I am perfectly fine with reinstall of handful of 3rd party applications by hand, again, say Skype, Handbrake, torrent client, VLC, that is about all she uses on that macbook pro... I would like to avoid taking any flash, unused programs, obsolete stuff, fragments of few previous migrations, from an old ppc macbook 10 years ago, all that fat, that was making her perfectly fine macbook so slooooow.
  14. Hello. I've been having a problem with Clover or OS X itself, it's hard to tell which, because I've literally never seen this. Anyway, I recently bought myself a new Dell (Inspiron 15 5000, Intel Core i5-5200U, 8GB RAM, Intel HD 6000 Graphics, Nontouch, Windows 10 Home). I have created a restore disk in Windows in case things go wrong, and backed up my data. So I really wanted to install OS X to it, but I've seen Yosemite a lot and have missed Mavericks, so I decided to try and install that. Last night, the 21st, I used DiskMaker X 4b5 to create a Mavericks installer from my current Yosemite desktop. Twice it gave me Error Code 1, then it gave me some other error. So I called it a night and moved on. Then today, I used my iMac with Yosemite to create a DIskMaker X 4b5 installer, then used DiskMaker X 3.0.4, then used the createinstallmed command twice. For the first five tries, I used the lastest version of Clover (9/22/2015) and then used the lastest non-2.3k version for the last two tries. For each failed attempt below that doesn't have an error, it worked fine and dandy, Clover comes up, I select the installer but the screen shows this in verbose mode, and does nothing. CTRL+ALT+DEL does nothing either. efiboot loaded from device: Acpi(PNP0A03,0/Pci14|0)/Usb(1,0)/HD(Part2,Sig35ADA88A-1DC8-4147-8DOD-EEC394BF67CE) boot file path: .IABootFiles\boot.efi ..Loading kernel cache file '\.IABootFiles\kernelcache'... .................. root device uuid is '6474A87B-F7FE-3752-9275-D36E71E92E74' +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Failed Attempts [1] Using Clover v2.3k r3270, Created Via DiskMaker X 4b5, on Hackintosh, Error 1 [2] Using Clover v2.3k r3270, Created Via DiskMaker X 4b5, on Hackintosh, Error 1 [3] Using Clover v2.3k r3270, Created Via DiskMaker X 4b5, on Hackintosh, Error Unknown [4] Using Clover v2.3k r3270, Created Via DiskMaker X 4b5, on iMac [5] Using Clover v2.3k r3270, Created Via DiskMaker X 3.0.4, on iMac [6] Using Clover v2k r3142, Created Via createinstallmed, on iMac, Undetected by Laptop [7] Using Clover v2k r3142, Created Via createinstallmed, on iMac
