  1. I'm trying to get Mountain Lion 10.8.3 to work on my AMD computer, but I get to this screen and am unsure of what to do: Below is the information of my system: CPU MAINBOARD SPD GRAPHICS If it makes any difference, I am using an SSD on C:\ Drive and a HDD on F:\
  2. Hi, HELP!! haha System Specs are as follows: ASUS M4N98TD EVO Motherboard with Nvidia MCP78 and NF200 chip - VIA 1708S sound AMD 1090T X6 at 3.9GHz MSI GTX 660 Gaming 10de 11c0 8GB DDR3 1600mhz Ram I have successfully installed Snow Leopard but cant seem to update it past 10.6.3 without Kernel Panics, I also believe that support for the GTX 660 is not good. Using my snow leopard install, I created a Mountain Lion USB installer with the amd_kernel - using the boot flags: amd_kernel cpus=1 busratio=18 npci=0x2000 USBLegacyOff=Yes PCIRootUID=0 -v -f I managed to get the installer to run and install, it completed and said installation successful. I haven't been able to boot into the OS as yet however. All seems to be going well, with the kexts loading and SUCCESS coming up everywhere, then after macosx_swapon which is OK the loading seems to grind to a halt, it loads NVGK100Hal and also finds my Bluetooth dongle, assigns an internet address but just gets no further, it seems to be stuck just before it would normally say DSMOS has arrived.... Any ideas would be most gratefully received....Many Thanks

    Intel HD4000, display wake 10.8.3

Hi, So, since i updated to 10.8.3 my systems display does not wake anymore after sleep. The system wakes, it's just the Intel HD4000 that does not power on anymore. The nVidia is powered off. Had to edit the DSDT code for 10.8.2, because the same problem occurred, this fix does not work in 10.8.3. Any ideas? DSDT attached. Thank you. DSDT.aml.zip
  4. I have the strangest problem, looked everywhere and haven't seen anyone having such issue. I installed iAtkos ML2 and it works OOB. I then updated using the combo update 10.8.3 - it now supports my graphics card. no errors, no freezes, installation and update went through peacefully. problem: after the update, just before showing the logon screen I get a full white screen on both monitors but the mouse cursor still works. I can see it configured resolution and dual monitor settings correctly as the cursor size is the right one and I can move it to and from the second monitor. I had a feeling this white screen was just a curtain and tried typing a few keyboard shortcuts and clicking on places I knew there was something that could be clicked and it works. the system is fully functional behind the white screen. I am still able to see the desktop if I boot in safe mode but then I lose graphics acceleration and USB devices don't work as they should. any help is more than appreciated!
  5. Hey guys, new to InsanelyMac, seems like a great community. I recently got a EVGA GTX 780. I do a lot of gaming, which was my primary reason for that choice, but I also do some Adobe work on my OSX install. Understanding the known bugs with this card and 10.8.3, I determined that they would not affect my work that much (really just wanted that CUDA!). So I got it working on OSX, and obviously W7 fine, using the nVidia web drivers. OSX recognized it by name a details in system info and I was getting excited!! Then reality set in...After trying to enable CUDA using terminal commands I found on several sites, I realized even though the computer knew it was a 780, it wasn't truly recognizing it. When I would use GPU Sniffer for enabling CUDA for AE, I wasn't getting the same info as many others. It wasn't giving me the dialogue "Name: GTX 7xx...." but rather something like "Engine: Nvidia GTX 780 OpenGL Engine....". So I was unable to get that working and could not find a real reason or anyone else experiencing the same issue. Then on Windows, thinking it might be a BIOS or GPU firmware incompatibility, I tried installing the latest firmware for the 780. In the prompt for installation, at the "finding devices..." it determined I had no compatible devices....even though I had the latest GPU drivers installed and could max out all my games and tweak the card using the nvidia control panel. Now, my question is...Is this in fact a motherboard/BIOS incompatibility? My current MOBO is the GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 w/ UEFI U1h. They released an updated UEFI, U1l, in march '13, but I can't find any info if that is a GPU/7xx series compatibility update or something. Does anyone have any info on this matter? Really don't want to have to upgrade my MOBO and potentially my CPU if I don't have to. Thanks! P.S. This might also be a clue to the culprit....since upgrading my GPU, the MOBO splash screen hangs for about a minute or so on boot until finally going into the normal selection screen...I can't access BIOS either, if I try, my screen goes black once the spalsh screen moves on.

    Problema installazione ML 10.8.3

Ciao a tutti ragazzi!
  7. Hi, I have a HP Pavilion DV7-4035es (i5 450M, ATI HD 5650M (which doesn't work)) and i installed ML using the retail disk with some modifications. Well, I got almost everything to work, and updated to 10.8.1 without any effort. Then, I updated to 10.8.2 and got some errors, but i got it to fix them easily. Then, I felt so excited that i updated to 10.8.3 following the same procedure as with the previous versions (saving my kexts and then changing some things). Unfortunately, I spent hours trying to get past the "Still waiting for root device" message. After I did, I got stuck at "No interval found for . using 80000" and if I wait around 5-10 minutes it displays "Resetting IOCatalogue"; after this, it freezes. What do you guys think would be the problem? Thanks for taking your time reading my problem.
  8. Hi After 3 days of searching far and wide on the internet for solutions to enable my GTX660 SC upgrade to function on 10.8.3, I have become unsuccessful. I am left with no choice but to ask for the forums' help. I need to know whether or not the (3072MB version) card is supported, and if so what is the best route to go about enabling that card to run. These are following steps I have done so far: 1) With my GTX480 card in place, I installed 10.8.3 2) I installed NVIDIA CUDA drivers (released on 3/15/13) 3) I attempted to install NVIDIA 304.00.05f02 drivers, but the installer said that my current drivers were already up-to-date. 4) I then switched out my GTX480 for the 660 in my hack. Every time I try to run off the GTX660, I get a kernel panic stating: "System uptime in nanoseconds" regardless of what boot flag I use, i.e.: -v -x GraphicsEnabler=No npci=0x3000 cpus=1. I even get the same message kernel panic as soon as the Apple logo screen shows up. I need to know what current market graphics card is proven to work in 10.8.3 because I am eager to buy it and return my current 660 back. I am in the market of getting anything up to a GTX 670 and only if it is proven to work in 10.8.3 without much trouble. If anybody out there has any knowledge of what direction I should take I would gladly oblige. Thanks

    AMD FX + HD7xxx 10.8.3 Hackintosh Build?

Hi, I'm currently running a Windows 7 x64 PC with: 8GB DDR3 Ram AMD FX 4170 GPU AMD Radeon HD 7870 CPU 1TB HDD (Windows 7) 150GB HDD (Blank) Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 Motherboard I am aware that getting OSX on an AMD machine is not an easy task, but can it be done with my setup? I am currently running OSX 10.8.3 in VMWare which is OK but lags a fair bit and lacks any kind of 3d acceleration and would like to be able to dual boot it natively alongside windows on the 150GB HDD. Thanks

  12. Hey all, Just updated from the stock ML. Once I get past the bootloader the apple loading screen comes up but never stops spinning. But in -X safe mode I can get to the login screen but my keyboard/mouse won't move. When doing the -V look at the errors below on why it won't load anymore... SEE SCREENSHOT Please let me know if you have any idea how I can fix this or get it working to retrieve some files I forgot to backup! THANK YOU!

  15. My system- board: Asus P8Z77-V LK (with 1001 BIOS which I patched for sleep ability) gfx: Ati Radeon HD5670, connected to 2560x1440 display via dual link DVI-D cpu: i7 3770K SATA: Win7 hd, Win8 hd, Mac OS X hd (in progress), DVD read\write Hello. I'm a newb to Hackintosh installs and am trying to get Mountain Lion 10.8.3 running. For installation, I used iAtkos ML3U and it went very smoothly.. but I haven't been able to boot up from the harddrive. At the time that it fails, I see some graphical corruption which I think is unusual (though I could be wrong). I have attached the image to the post. For attempted launches, I use the Clover bootloader (which I believe I have as a result of having used iAtkos ML3U - though I don't know how common it is to have it for other reasons because I'm newb). For boot flags, I typically accept the two default flags (which I believe are "npci=0x2000 slide=0") and I add "-f -v" (the "-f" because I think it prevents cached {censored} from {censored} up my tests, and -v to hopefully get a hint why it failed)... and then I variously try other flags and toggling things in the Clover bootloader somewhat randomly. The flags have never helped me get further, but have sometimes caused me to get less far (for instance, it's interesting that "-x" for safe mode causes the boot to fail with a reboot almost immediately). So, my theories at the moment are that perhaps some of my problem is graphics related due to the graphical corruption.. and perhaps I've got some problem related to the hibernated drive which is usually the last thing mentioned in the boot sequence before failure (I doubt it's the reason because I see it as no reason for boot failure, though it is the last thing mentioned). I'm aware that the hibernated drive is probably somehow due to Win8's attempt at fast boots, though I disabled fast boots over a week ago and have shutdown Win8 many times since (and it's still marked as hibernated). My best theory however is that my real problem is something different which I haven't considered. I have occasionally removed my Ati Radeon HD5670 card and instead attempted booting up using my onboard Intel graphics. It generally fails at the same location, though I don't see the graphical corruption. I have re-installed using iAtkos ML3U several times and each time selected different Customization options.. and I haven't had any success with my last couple configurations. Though with an earlier install, I did at one point manage to boot up with the Intel gfx, but couldn't proceed because I only had a PS/2 keyboard and Mac OS X doesn't support it.. I now always select the PS/2 support customization at the time of install. Anyway, any suggestions would be appreciated. I'd also be curious why my iAtkos ML3U usb drive only lets me install once, and always fails subsequent installs.. which has necessitated me re-writing it over and over again each time I want to try different customizations in my install. thanks

    ATI 5450 ISSUES WITH 10.8.3

Upgrade from 10.8.2-10.8.3 has left me with an unrecognized GPU. Worked perfectly in 10.8.2 with edited id's (0x68f9) AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext+ATI5000Controller.kext. Now, in verbose, both kexts are failing to patch. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
  17. hi, I have a ASRock Z77E-ITX mainboard and last week updated to 10.8.3 without any issues (combo update). I only have to install the IONetworkingFamily.kext (which i also used in 10.8.2) and audio kext, but i have some strange behavior with downloading files and for example youtube movies. I can easily reproduce the error to do some speedtest @www.speedtest.netand do a test, the test wil abort after a while. also download a speedtest file of 1GB it says network connection broken. On some youtube movies i see that some movies are not fully downloaded and abrupt sometimes. i have tried to reinstall the kext (first deleted), but also same issue. i also cannot find a newer version of this kext: "IONetworkingFamily.kext BCM57781" i use (BuildVersion - 602). someone any idea? tips?

  20. I'm currently running my VM on OSX 10.8.3 and I have fully spoofed my machine as a legitimate Macbook Pro (with Chameleon Wizard), with an Applecare covered retina display serial number. I can successfully use iCloud, but when I try to use iMessage it asks me to contact apple support. If someone could help me out that would be great, thanks! I used this guide to spoof my VM.
  21. Hello all, So a bit of background on the problems I have. I've had this build since just after 10.8.1 and was able to get it up and running with little issue. 10.8.2 came out and I waited a few days to scope out any widespread issues and then went for the update and hit problems. I never actually figured out what they were as I was able to update the USB drive I install from and just did a fresh install with no problems. So now that 10.8.3 is out I did the same and waited to see if there were any glaring issues, didn't see mention of any so went ahead and updated. Yet again ran into problems. I was able to boot with "-v -f -x" but nothing else, I couldn't even get -s to work without them. Now I can't boot in with anything. I've yet to re-install as I figure I'll ask this first and hope I can sort my issues out before I do. So my question is what Setup/Kexts are best for my setup. Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V Pro/Thunberbolt (using BIOS 1708 patched for Power Management) CPU: Intel i7-3770s RAM: Corsair 16GB (4x4GB) GPU: 2x EVGA GTS250 Sys disk: Kingston HyperX 120GB SSD The LAN is intel 82579V, Audio is Realtek 892, Wi-Fi chip is a Atheros AR9485 (haven't seen anywhere that's gotten this to work) I've been using Chameleon for bootloader but wouldn't be opposed to switching to Clover if it would be better. I've been using MacPro5,1 as my system definition as well if that makes a difference. The specs for my board are here if they're needed. If anyone could give any help that would be awesome. Any more info needed just let me know. Thanks.

New Nvidia Retail Driver Install Solution

New Nvidia Retail Driver Install Solution Posted on May 16, 2013by rampagedev about: New Nvidia Retail drivers have been released today. It introduces a new Preference Pane under System Preferences that allows you to enable the Nvidia Web Driver or OS X Default Driver The new drivers require information to be written to the NVram. Without this you will not be able to Meklort, who developed the NVram Module that we currently use, assisted me in understanding why the NVram information showed up on some systems and not others. If you are using my Recovery Partition And Enable All Features Of iCloud and iMessages fix you must remove nvram.log from /var/log/ before you can begin. If you plan to enable ECC, for a Nvidia card that support this feature, you must add the slot identification edit in your DSDT or the option to enable ECC on that card will not be available. Accreditation: Meklort for NVram Module and boot.plist Flag Originally posted here Guide: Part 1: Install 1. Download Mac OS X Driver Release 313.01.01 here 2. Install the drivers 3. Install the latest Bootloader found here 4. In your Extra folder if not present already create a folder called modules: 5. From i386/modules folder copy FileNVRAM.dylib into Extra/modules: 6. Continue to Part 2 Part 2: Fusion Drive Installs or Systems Without FileNVRAM 1. In your Extra folder open org.chameleon.Boot.plist: 2. Under Kernel Flags add nvda_drv=1: 3. Continue to Part 3 Part 3: Enabling 1. Go to System Preferences: 2. Go to Nvidia Driver Manager: 3. In the Preference Pane change the settings to match the following: 4. Restart 5. The new kexts should now be loaded: 6. If you are using my Recovery Partition And Enable All Features Of iCloud and iMessages fix please redo Parts 4-7 here
