  1. I was wondering, is it okay to install certain software through software update if you're running on 10.6.8 legacy kernel instead of a vanilla kernel? Or will it break my system? I'm running a snow leopard system on my Dell OptiPlex GX520 with 4 gigs of ram, and a 2.8 GHz Pentium 4HT Here's my software update window. install.tiff Which software is safe to install?

  3. Hi there I recently got an old macmini1,1 from a friend and installed an Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 with 2,33GHz into it. It also has 2GB of RAM. I currently run OS X 10.5 and since you can't really do anything with this outdated OS I'd like to have any version AT LEAST >=10.6. My Question now is: Is there any possibility and if so, how? Regards
  4. Hello, I'm trying to get a VM of OSX 10.6 on my PC. I'm running Windows 10 with an i7 4710HQ and Nvidia 860m. I've been trying this method here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/290949-how-to-install-os-x-10x-snow-leopard-lion-mountain-lion-mavericks-and-yosemite-in-vmware-workstation-1011-or-player-67/ along with Unlocker 2: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/339-unlocker/ Now, this is the farthest I've made it trying to do this. I'm able to see an Apple Logo, and then it gives me an error saying that the guest OS is not Mac OSX Server 10.6. So I changed my Vmware to Workstation 11, and tried it with again and it gave the same error each time. I don't have the other OS versions, and I'm not sure whether I'm still doing something wrong, or whether it's a win 10 issue? I'm really new to this, and have never done OSX on a VM before. I also forgot to mention, but I bought my own Snow leopards CD, and I'm still trying to figure out that guide.
  5. PLEASE help! I used to have a perfectly working Leopard iAtkos 7 10.5.8 running with my system (shown below), but since I've upgraded my graphics card from a 9800GTX+ to a GTX 460 I'm now in deep {censored}. Leopard no longer picks it up. I've tried to install iAtkos 7 10.5.8 again I can't boot as the graphics card isn't recognised. The -x command works, but there aren't any drivers to install as the supported nvidia drivers are only for Snow Leopard. "So just install Snow Leopard?" I hear you say. Well I've tried to install iAtkos S3 V2 10.6.3 but to no avail. Whatever way I try to install, I either get kernel panics at boot, or the PC shuts down on boot (verbos reads CPU halted). With iAtkos S3 V2 I've tried the Chameleon 2 RC5 boot loader, the AnVal bootloader, the 10.3.0 kernel, the 10.2.0 kernel, etc. When booting, I always enter my correct FSB, Busratio and Maxmem values. The DVD was burned at 4x, my bios is set to AHCI and I'm installing to an internal sata drive - all completely normal stuff. Every distro installs great, but they never boot. Can someone please help me? I could really do with having this system up and running soon - I do a lot of Final Cut Pro at work and would love to use it at home. System: Asus M3N-HT Deluxe AMD Phenom II 955 BE 6Gb Corsair XMS2 DDR2 EVGA GTX 460 SE Thanks guys! Much appreciated
  7. Hey guys, I have tried every snow leopard distros i could think of and haven't had any luck. Do you guys know of any? I used IHazard 10.6.6i and it failed. I used IHazard 10.6.1_10.6.2 AMD hackintosh one and get a kernal panic after install reboot and with iatkos i get the still waiting for root device. My mobo doesn't support AHCI standards is there any way to get around it? Also i have a really weird chipset, the ATI Xpress200 series and not many distros I've seen have them. If anyone can help that'd be amazing!!!

No Wireless on my Lenovo S10e!

Hello Everyone I'm REALLY new to the whole idea of a 'hackintosh', i only found out about the concept about 6 months ago. I have wanted to try and make a hackintosh ever since and about two weeks ago i got hold of my unlocked school netbook (A Lenovo S10e) and immediatly researched what to do. Yes, i know it's an old machine but this is all a big experiment for me. So far i have been able to get Snow Leopard 10.6.4 working well Via S10 Snow Leopard Enabler, however i have one problem; the wireless card won't be recognised no matter what i try. The instructions that come with the enabler say that wireless should work "out of the box" but it doesnt, Bluetooth DOES work however. The Enabler also says that audio, full screen resolution (1024 x 576), sleep, two finger scrolling and wired Ethernet SHOULD work and i can confirm that they do, it's just the wireless thats the problem! My Machine's Specifications: - Intel Atom N270 @ 1.6GHz - 2 Gb DDR2 SDRAM - 160Gb Fujitsu HDD - Intel GMA 950 - Broadcom Bluetooth I think the wireless PCI card is this: Broadcom BCM4312M I previously have Windows 7 installed on this machine and the wireless worked fine Thanks in advance for the help anyone can render!
  9. Hello. I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 with an ATI X1300 graphics card and a Core 2 Duo 1.83Mhz. I wanted to put Snow Leopard or Lion on it but I can't seem to get it to work. iAtkos S3 V2 doesn't install for some reason and I tried Hazard but that kept freezing up and crashing. I tried iAtkos L2 and everything worked fine except my mouse ran very very slow. Does anyone know any good Snow Leopard distros or a way to fix my mouse on L2? Thanks in advance.

    Snow Leopard e Kernel Panic

Boas pessoal... (desculpem-me a má-qualidade) Então, algum gênio? hehe Obrigado a todos, qualquer ajuda será bem-vinda!! , Leonardo Garrido
  11. I have 3 Mac partitions: 10.6.8, 10.7.4, and 10.8.3. I was able to display everything at full resolution on 10.6.8 and 10.7.4 with my GTX680 on my 1360X768 monitor via Graphics Mode=1360x768x32 flag with Graphics Enabler disabled in my Boot.plist. I upgraded to a 1920X1080 monitor and now I have an ugly black border around the screen during the bootloader, 10.6.8, and 10.7.4. Example shown below: I have been sifting through past posts and other articles that have addressed remedies towards this issue such as the following: Link 1 (This method didn't work by the way) Link 2 (This method is for AMD GPUs) Link 3 (I have yet to try this) Link 4 (I have yet to try this) Editing the BIOS of the GPU seemed about the only promising method I seen available but I am apprehensive about it because it could accidentally brick my GTX680. I wanted to get the opinion of members who have experienced this problem and to find out whether any of these options I have listed you would suggest or should you have some options of your own that you would recommend to me as well. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.S/N: 10.8.3 boots fine in native resolution
  12. I got sleep working on my laptop. I am very happy about that, except now I have an issue with the trackpad when I put it to sleep. I expected it not to work, but apparently when I had a USB mouse connected it works! What does this mean? Is it not getting a wake or is there something else going on? Can I emulate it so I can trick it that it has a USB mouse connected or is voodooPS2 doing something wrong? Thanks!!

I hope someone can give me a hand, thank you kindly for your help! Progress: Installation takes about 1h 30m. 800x600 screen resolution. Ethernet working (self-assigned IP address fix). No QE/CI. No sound. No Airport. Random crashes. DSDT.zip

    iATKOS S3 on LG X110

Hi everyone, I just installed iATKOS S3 v2 on my LG X110, and it's working pretty good (sound and video oob, wireless after driver update, couldn't find driver for webcam). The only issue is the fact that i need to boot with the install usb stick, and then select Macintosh HD, otherwise the netbook gets stuck on the grey screen w apple logo. I know i'm suppose to change something on this file com.apple.Boot.plist or somewhere else but the articles I've found so far and kinda outdated and i don't know if they'll work. The articles i've found: http://www.insanelym...0 (this one actually i've tried but didn't work) http://www.insanelym...1 (lots of changes on boot and not exactly same install method) It's propably something very basic, but i'm kinda newbie in the hackintosh universe (that's actually my first hackintosh), so any help is appreciated!
Probabilmente sbaglio qualcosa, potete aiutarmi? Grazie
  16. Hi, I decided to install Hazard Snow Leopard and the install completed normally. After restart the boot hangs at the Apple logo. I'm a noob when it comes to Hackintosh so I'm not sure why this is happening but I think it has something to do with ACPI When I boot in verbose, the last few lines read. 17. Can anyone tell me if the alienware m15x laptops will be supported for snow leopard and if so what install method should i choose? 18. I was wondering if anyone ran into this problem. Ive been trying to install 10.6 retail on my Hp Mini 110-1131DX. Obviously based on forum posts i've read WIFI isnt going to work without another card, thats fine. However, even the ethernet isnt working and I've seen reports of it working with the HP Mini110. AtherosL1cEthernet kext seemed the best route, however it still is not working. Then again, i am running it off my Macbook Pro Internet sharing since I do not currently have fast internet. Therefore i was wondering if there was a fix for this at 10.6 retail without combo updating, or will this sort it out when I apply the combo update, or will this work once I get proper internet and networking set up. i also read it worked just fine on OSX Leopard 10.5.8 However ive been having difficulties getting that installed (attempting to take this at two angles) Keeps hanging up at MAC Framework successfully initiated Using 10485 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers. Not sure what the issue is here, using iDeneb v1.6 Lite. Which there are no tutorials on. However with proper kexts this shouldnt be a problem. ACPI fix on this one and cpu=1 fix as found in another forum however still the same results. Ill post some of the notes about this particular HP Mini which might help. Intel GMA 950 Ethernet Atheros AR8132 Fast Ethernet DevID:1062 VenID:1969 I have the Mac Address as well which I have heard i may need to patch the UUID however i have not gotten that far, was going to try that with OSX Leopard iDeneb install Broadcom Wifi BCM 4312 (Hell i have the notes why not post it) Audio - Intel Corp. WACOM Tablet Help

Hey Guys, This is my first post on the newer forum. I was on Insanelymac the first time i built my OSX machine back in 2010. Anyways - i've been trying to get my Wacom Intuos2 Tablet to work in 10.6.8 and i can't seem to get it to work. If i install any driver the tablet become entirely unresponsive. The tablet is recognized in the system profiler, but it won't function with Wacom's drivers (their installer pkgs that install a preferencepane, etc). The tablet works terribly with no driver installed, and not at all with any drivers. Any insight to this would be VERY helpful. Thank you so much...
  20. Decided to write an updated guide for 10.6.6-10.6.8 installation on a Lenovo T61 laptop Sorry for not having any style in this post (will fix up later) Files Needed: T61_snowleo (7zip file with everything included / besides boot cd) optional: Nawcom ModCD *The only known issues are the tilde key is not correct. If anyone knows of a fix let me know! also the brightness control 1. Use a bootloader to boot the LeoHazard Disc with flags -v -f (I use Nawcom ModCD) 2. Once booted, format a partition as Mac OS X Extended (Journaled), using GPT or GUID mode 3. Select the partition you just prepared and click the Customize button 4. Select Bootx86, VoodooPS2Trackpad, and VoodooTSCSync 5. Click continue and install LeoHazard to the disk 6. Once complete, restart system and keep the leohazard disk inserted. 7. When the menu for Disk selection appears, press f8 and move selection to the installed partition and type -v -f 9. Copy (this) folder to the desktop (T61_snowleo) 10. Install Chameleon bootloader from the utilities folder to your LeoHazard partition 11. Go to system preferences, right click on Chameleon and remove it 12. Install Tuxera NTFS from the utilities folder and restart 13. After restarting, run the Post Install script to finalize your installation 14. It's not advised to use my DSDT. If you want to extract your own, delete /Extra/DSDT.aml and reboot. Use Chameleon Wizard from the utilities folder to extract your DSDT.aml and place it in the /Extra folder. 15. Reboot and you should have working lid sleep 16. To update, download the combo update and install. After each update, reinstall chameleon and run Cleanup 17. Optional: download the non-system updates from the System Update menu *Notes: For 10.6.8 update, download 10.6.7 combo update. Use Pacifist to open the pkg file. Find System/Library/SystemConfiguration, right click on Apple80211Monitor.bundle and Install to Other Disk (choose LeoHazard partition.) Run Cleanup to finalize installation *Notes: If for any reason you cannot boot after deleting a kext from /System/LibraryExtensions, boot the LeoHazard disc with flags -v -f on the installed LeoHazard partition, repeating step 7 *Notes: To fix Mac App Store login error in 10.6.8, go to System Preferences, under location click "Edit Locations" and add a new location (name it anything). Delete the Automatic location and delete all network interfaces by pressing the '-' button. Go to /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration and delete the NetworkInterfaces.plist file. Reboot and re-add your network under the System Preferences Network menu. -------------------------------------------------------- Also, I will update my script to install SleepEnabler later on. If you want to install yourself, use Kext Utility to install the correct version.**Wrong version can cause kernel panic (you've been warned.) Any problems, post here

Come risolvo?
  23. Hello everyone, I'm here to ask if anyone knows how to get hardware acceleration working on an EVGA nVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 1024 GB. I've tried the tonymacx86 nVIDIA update, an EFI string, and the official nVIDIA CUDA driver. I'm running Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.5 but I can upgrade to any version. I'm only on 10.6.5 because of the tonymacx86 update. I'm pretty sure I don't have hardware acceleration because I can't change my screen resolution, and certain animations like clicking the Application folder are slugish. I have an AMD Phenom II X4 @ 3.2 GHz, and 8 Gigabytes of RAM. I'm really hoping this can be fixed as it's the only thing not working Thanks in advance

  25. I'm having the following panic after trying to install 10.6 on my netbook: panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff7f807256ee): "AppleAHCI@ 0 HBA trouble accessing main memory = 0xfffffff "@/SourceCache/AppleAHCI/AppleAHCI-200.0.0/AppleAHCIPort.cpp:1884 Debugger called: <panic> Backtrace (CPU 0), Frame : Return Address 0xfffffff8035f3bdc0 : 0xffffff8000204ae6 0xfffffff8035f3bec0 : 0xffffff7f807256ee 0xfffffff8035f3bf10 : 0xffffff7f80722778 0xfffffff8035f3bf30 : 0xffffff8000530240 0xfffffff8035f3bf60 : 0xffffff8000530555 0xfffffff8035f3bfa0 : 0xffffff80002c3eb7 Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies): com.apple.driver.AppleAHCIPort(2.0.0)@0xffffff7f80720000->0xffffff7f8072dfff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOAHCIFamily(2.0.0)@0xffffff7f80719000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.6)@0xffffff7f80604000 Interestingly, going to the BIOS and switching "Sata Controller Mode" to "Compatibility" gets me to the installer, but doesn't allow me to choose a drive, forcing me to use a "GUID Partition Table" regardless having applied the MBR patch to my USB installer: To install on this disk, open Disk Utility by choosing Utilities > Disk Utility, and repartition this disk using "GUID Partition Table." Important: you will lose all data on this disk by repartitioning it. I don't want to lose all data! Well, don't care really becuase the netbook has nothing on it except the factory Windows installation, but still want to keep it. I have installed on MBR with Windows before, so why is it being picky now? I think it is due to the "Sata Controller Mode" being in "Compatibility", but it won't boot to the installation screen if it's switched to "AHCI". Netbook specs. Update: AppleAHCIPort.kext (for RAID) 1.0 (only version) eases the panic, but the hard drive is no longer visible. Solution: Forget about AHCI, OSInstall(MBR)+OSInstall.mpkg 10.6.x did the job!
