  3. I have a glitch on the top and bottom of my screen when I'm booting up. It's between the apple logo and the login screen. It goes past pretty quickly and then turns into the common loading bar on the bottom of the screen problem, before everything works correctly at the user login screen. I've searched around some for a fix but couldn't find anything for this particular issue. I found some fixes for glitching on integrated graphics but nothing for a dedicated nvidia gpu with multiple monitors. I have monitors attached as DVI and HDMI. I'm on the latest web drivers but this has been an issue since upgrading ot el cap. It's a small issues, but any help, suggestions, or pointing me in the right direction would be very much appreciated. My specs are in my signature.
  4. Hello everyone, I not sure since when, but i think since the update to 10.11.1/2 i'm getting kernel panics quite often. Here's an example: http://pastebin.com/UjUmGWDp What could be the reason? I'm been running MemTest86 without any error so it doesn't seems like a ram related issue. Is there someone out there that is able to explain what that "panic report" tries to tell me? Any help would be appreciated
  5. Hello, I had a perfect installation for 10.11.1 on my HP Elitebook 8460p [sandy Bridge i7-2640M 2.8 GHz + HD3000 + 8 GB Ram] with Clover on MBR partition. After updating to 10.11.2 the system broke and gives the attached KP. No way to boot the system [-x or -s or booting from USB] Any idea what causes the KP or how to fix it ? TIA

Apple seeded the first 10.11.2 beta

One week after the final 10.11.1 release, Apple seeded the first 10.11.2 beta for developer testing. Apple asked developers to focus their efforts on Mail, Wi-Fi, Calendar, Notes, Photos, Spotlight, support of USB and graphics.

This is a patched version of an official vanilla kernel from El Capitan 10.11.2, allowing Z87 Haswell motherboards capable of booting without reboot loops or kernel panics. The following perl scripts have been applied to the vanilla kernel for 10.11.2: #1 perl -pi -e 's|\xe2\x00\x00\x00\x02\x00\x00\x00|\x00\x00\x00\x00\x02\x00\x00\x00|g' kernel #2 perl -pi -e 's|\xe2\x00\x00\x00\x4c\x00\x00\x00|\x00\x00\x00\x00\x4c\x00\x00\x00|g' kernel #3 perl -pi -e 's|\xe2\x00\x00\x00\x90\x01\x00\x00|\x00\x00\x00\x00\x90\x01\x00\x00|g' kernel I take no credit for the creation of the perl scripts used. Patches #1, #2, and #3 have been documented on this blog by the original owner here. Shout outs to Pike R. Alpha whose code the patches are based on, he lives here. Tested on EVGA Z87 FTW Please let me know if it works well for you so I can confirm the amount of success users are having. Thanks
