  1. Hi there Today I bought a new 27" display from Dell, the u2715h. Since my system is running with a gt8800 and I just have a dvi dual output I had to connect a hdmi adapter to a dvi d cable to connect this display. However, everything fine running this display at 2048 x 1152 @ 60 Hz but when I try to get full resolution to 2560 x 1440 @ 60 Hz I just get a black screen, the display tells me that it needs proper input, can't handle the signal. Any idea what I could try to fix this problem? Thx
  2. Hello guys! I have a big trouble! I am using clover for my motherboard and everything works perfectly except one thing: I can't shut down my computer, when i hit shut down button my computer just start to reboot and when booting is done, i can see message that it was shut down because of some problem. Other modes works pretty well, Sleep mode working and etc. I tried many clover setups but nothing works, even ShutDown fix and other fixes. Could anyone please help me? I attached my current config to the message. Thank you!

    Updating AMD Hackintosh to 10.10.3

    I have a hackintosh that has: AMD FX 8350 @ Stock speed Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 Rev 4 8GB RAM Patriot Viper (2*4gb sticks) EVGA GeForce GTX 660 3GB 160GB HDD in which OS X 10.10.1 is installed an 2 other HDDs for Windows My current Hackintosh has 10.10.1 that I installed through Niresh's Yosemite Distro. It works mostly fine, but there are some problems. I assume that that by updating to 10.10.3, most problems will be resolved. I would like to update my Hackintosh to 10.10.3 but I'm not sure how to go about it. I've read that I need a custom kernel for my AMD processor, and I believe that I downloaded the correct one. I'm assuming that kernel goes in /System/Library/Kernels In that folder, I had a file called "kernel.backup". Do I just copy the new kernel here? After I've done that, do just update through the App Store, or do I download another update? I'm using the Chameleon Boot Loader v2.3, as you can see on the screenshot file I've attached. If you need any more info about my hardware/setup, feel free to ask. Thanks. I've also included a screenshot of my current org.chameleon.Boot.plist file if that helps.

    This is a patched version of an official vanilla kernel from Yosemite 10.10.3, allowing Z87 Haswell motherboards capable of booting without reboot loops or kernel panics. Patches #1, #2, and #3 have been documented on this blog by the original owner here. Shout outs to Pike R. Alpha whose code the patches are based on, he lives here. Prequel Hi, my name is Luan and today I will show how I installed the OS X Yosemite version 10.10.3 on my ultrabook. I know that my procedure maybe can be made in other ways, but this is about how I made it. I am part of this world for four years. Since the launch of XCode 7 and no need to sign the Developer Program to test applications on the iPhone, I decided to install OS X. God bless WWDC15 (I'm not religious, just a popular saying in my country). What works and what does not work - Processor -> Work. i5-3317U @ 1.7Ghz/2.6Ghz. SpeedStep 8 to 26 stages. AsusAICPUPM <true/> in Clover config.plist. - Video Card -> Work. HD4000. Full QE/CI. - Chipset -> Work. - HDMI -> Work. - VGA -> Not work. I did not have time to fix yet. - Audio -> Work. Kext VoodooHDA + AppleHDADisabler. - WiFi -> Work. Replaced by Athero 9285 Wifi/Bluetooth. - Ethernet -> Work. Kext Experimental Atheros AR81(31/32/51/52/61/62/71/72) Driver for 10.7/10.8. - Touchpad and keyboard -> Work. Kext ELAN, FocalTech and Synaptics (Smart Touchpad) Driver (Mac OS X). - FN keyboards keys -> Not work. I did not have time to fix yet. - Brightness control -> Work. DSDT patch. - Sleep -> Work. - Battery -> Work. Kext ACPIBatteryManager by RehabMan and DSDT patch (below). - Card Reader -> Not tested. I have no adapters. - Integrated Camera -> Work. What I needed to install - Running install of Yosemite on VMware -> Downloaded version 10.10 via torrent (Google it). You can use a real Mac of an friend. I believe that Snow Leopard (10.6), Lion (10.7), Mountain Lion (10.8), Mavericks (10.9) also work. - Two USB flash drives of 8GB -> One for OSX install and another to the bootloader. This second not need to be 8GB, a 256MB is perfect. - OS X Yosemite install app -> Downloaded via App Store inside the virtual machine. I used version 10.10.3. - CloverEFI -> Also downloaded inside the virtual machine. I used build 3229. - DSDT patch skills -> Needed to battery works. How to patch DSDT. P.s.: You can use a single flash drive, in my install I used two because I don't wanted lose the os install created on the main flash drive. How I created flash cards Install flash drive: Partially used @snatch guide. More specifically this part: In the part above used the first flash drive (8GB). Bootloader flash drive: Format the second flash drive with GUID partition and Journaled file system type. If you want to use only one flash card, don't format! Downloaded the CloverEFI (used 3229) and installed with this options: Options: - Install for UEFI booting only - Install Clover in the ESP - Drivers64UEFI - CsmVideoDxe-64 - Drivers64UEFI - OsxAptioFixDrv-64 Will be created a partition named EFI. Edit the /EFI/CLOVER/config.plist and change those values: - SystemParameters - InjectKexts - <true/> - Graphics - Inject - ATI - <false/> - Graphics - Inject - Intel - <true/> - Graphics - ig-platform-id - 0x01660003 - KernelAndKextPatches - AsusAICPUPM - <true/> P.s.: I will provide below my config.plist as attachment. Now you will capable to boot in installation, but your keyboard and mouse will not work. Let's fix that: - Download the Smart Touchpad kext from here. I used the version 4.3. This also enable the touchscreen. - Download the FakeSMC kext from here. I used the version 6.9.1315. This is very important. Can't boot without it. - Put the Kexts inside /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.10/ Now you can start the instalation without problem (I guess). BIOS Setup Configuration - Intel Virtualization Technology: Disabled - VT-d: Disabled - USB Configuration - XHCI Pre-Boot Mode: Disabled P.s.: BIOS version 210. Installing indeed - Plug in the two flash drives. - When appear the Asus logo, press ESC once to enter Boot Menu. - Select the flash drive name with UEFI prefix. In my case "UEFI: KingstonDataTraveler 2.0PMAP". - On CloverEFI menu, use arrow to mark the flash drive with de OS X install, press Space on keyboard and select: "Boot Mac OS X in verbose mode". - As usual, format your HDD or SSD as GUID and Journaled. Make more partitions if you need. Take a note of the OSX partition name you entered on Disk Utillity. - After that, go ahead as always and start the instalation. - Go in the kitchen grab some lunch. You deserve it. Post installation What we have so far? The system installed on your ultrabook. Now you need to get rid of bootable flash drive installing the bootloader on HDD or SSD. Installing the bootloader in internal HDD or SSD: - Boot again selecting the flash drive on Boot menu. Same you did before. - Now select the partition you noted early. - If you do everything wright, the system will start normally. - Now you will use the CloverEFI install package again (same options from above). This time, the target will be your OS X installed partition. Our adorable ultrabook don't boot EFI if partition on the HDD or SSD if isn't MS-DOS. We will need to format and install Clover again. - Open the Terminal and enter "sudo -s". - Run the command: "diskutil list". - Take note of what location is your EFI. Usually it is "rdisk0s1". Make sure it's correct or you loose your data. - Now, let's format it, now execute: "newfs_msdos -v EFI -F 32 /dev/rdiskXsX". rdiskXsX is your EFI partition location from line above. Now you need to copy all data of your flash card bootloader to the root of your new created EFI partition on internal disk. This EFI partition is unmounted. Mount with "diskutil mount /dev/rdiskXsX". Just restart without flash drives to test. Others Kexts: Download the kexts from the links below. I strongly recommend always use newest versions. If you are too lazy, I attach on end of the post. Hi, yesterday I upgraded my HP Envy 15-j101ss with Yosemite 10.10.2 to 10.10.3 and everything was working correctly after the update except a mistake with the new Photos app. I wasn't able to import the iPhoto gallery because the app said that I needed to repair the disk permissions and I did it with Disk Utility. But after this i'm stuck on the apple logo so I can't boot. I boot in verbose mode and everytime i see: 'Incorrect number of thread records'. I tried to repair it with fsck but there's always a loop and the system can't repair it, Also I tried it with Disk Utility in Time Machine but the fix isn't possible and I thought there were back-ups to restore it, but there aren't so it's like a joke... Moreover I have a Windows partition with MacDrive but this software can't repair it too. I don't know what can I do, maybe there's any chance to repair the OS X because in this partition I have many important files such as music projects...

I had this on 2 machines now: After a successful build on an OSX 10.10.3/GA-Z97X-UD5H/i7-4790/32GB DDRIII/GTX970, I get Freezes of the system when a usb device is connected (except KB and mouse). Its random and can happen after 1, or 30 min. All the components are working fine - sound, the 2 Network cards, the GTX970 (via nVidia WebInstall). I tried all combinations possible on the BIOS (F8), but still get these Freezes.. This also happen in 10.10.2.. Any ideas here?
  9. For the most part I've had a 100% working build since 10.8.2. I've done every point update and nothing has broken until now. (Well except iMessage, but we know that's a different story) First my build - Chimera 4.1.0 Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H (F14 bios) 3770K @ 4.5GHz Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 2GB 32GB 1600MHz RAM OC to 1867MHz 256GB Samsung 840 Pro In the past I've never had an issue with all of my system stats showing up in HWMonitor or iStat Menus so long as FakeSMC Plugins are installed. My CPU has always reported at the correct frequency under HWMonitor and iStat, and my RAM showed up as the correct frequency in "About this Mac". However as soon as I updated to 10.10.3, this was no longer the case. HWmonitor and iStat show my CPU running at 3.46GHz (stock clock for the 3770K), and "About this Mac" shows my RAM as running at 0 MHz. All my other stats show up fine. At first I thought maybe my OC got wiped out somehow, so I booted into the bios and they're still there. So I booted up Windows 8.1 to double-check what frequencies it's detecting and it reports them correctly at 4.5GHz for the CPU and 1867MHz for the RAM. So I think my OC is still in tact. Although even if it was wiped out... that wouldn't explain the RAM reporting at 0 MHz. On the surface I think this is just a cosmetic issue, however my concern is that maybe it's not... maybe my CPU is running at 3.5GHz and not 4.5GHz in 10.10.3, which is quite a huge performance difference and more of a legitimate concern. However even if it is just cosmetic I'd still like to uncover the cause of this. FakeSMC and the 4 FakeSMC plugins are all loaded according to System Information, and they're all running the latest versions (1364). HWMonitor and iStat Menus are also fully updated. Booting with Chimera 4.1.0. Is anyone having similar issues? Anyone got any suggestions on where I can start to try to solve this issue? Thanks guys edit: So now I have reason to believe this isn't just a cosmetic issue. I just ran Geekbench and I'm only getting 13925 - http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench2/view/2552061 Previously whenever I ran Geekbench I'd get between 16500 and 17000. So I think my CPU actually is running at stock clocks... ugh

Hi Guys, I earlier had iAtkos ML2 installed on my PC(with Windows 8.1), which was working fine, and recently I upgraded my Graphics card(Intel Chipset to nVidia GT610) and also upgraded to Windows 10. Since then, Mac wasn't working. The bootloader would start and sometimes later says, 'Errors Encountered...' and reboots. I also have Ubuntu installed in the same PC, which is working fine. I formatted the HFS+ drive from windows, and tried reinstalling ML2. It would show up some initial things, and gave some lines(as usual as in my previous successful installation), and rebooted automatically. Yesterday, I got a copy of iAtkos Y 10.10.3 Yosemite, and I created a bootable USB and plugged it. As in my ML2, it booted up and asked me whether clover or chameleon, and I chose clover, which again went to show apple logo and rebooted immediately, an USB started again(same error as in ML2 installation), and now I chose Chameleon, the result was similar to that of ML2 installation. I used EasyBCD to boot up Windows and Ubuntu with Metro style bootloader. I also have my quick booting disabled. What is causing the issue? Any Help? Thanks in Advance. P.S.- *Mine is non-UEFI *I tried one thing...I changed my active partition to the partition to which I had planned to install Mac, and booted Mac, and still got the same problem. *The lines which showed up before rebooting in the chameleon bootloader were like, ....Unknown Architecture....Errors Encountered.... The same had happened in my first installation, but was successful

    Specs: Intel i5-5200u Processor 8 GB's of Memory Intel HD 5500 Graphics 3200x1800 Display 256 GB SSD Dell DW1560 (BCM4352) Wireless with builtin bluetooth Dell Precision Trackpad Touchscreen (HID device) 6 Cell battery (?) What's working: Everything mentioned above aside from some quirks. What's not working: Screen freezes after 5ish minutes of usage. It varies from reboot to reboot. Looks like it's graphics-related because if I wait to reboot the system, the graphics get garbled after the freeze. ​Brightness keys. I'm using rehabman's voodoops2controller kext and it works well but the brightness keys are not working yet because I have yet to figure out how to apply it. It seems like it's similar to how it works on Haswell HP Envy's where it uses 1 method for both keys but the patch doesn't work even after changing the method name to _Q66 and it still results in an error.
  13. So i have my Surface pro 3 dual booting yosemite 10.10.3 I was able to sign in to iMessage and FaceTime with on issue, without changing any values whatsoever! FaceTime connects and works. The only issue is I can receive iMessages, but when i try to reply, I get a red exclamation and its not able to send the message. They can still see me typing, but the message is never sent! Any ideas?? I'm completely stumped

    Olá, boa tarde. Gostaria de pedir ajuda de vocês pois estou com dois problemas. Primeiro, eu consigo instalar o Yosemite 10.10.1 Niresh tranquilamente no meu AMD Athlon II X2 270. A instalação e pós instalação ocorrem perfeitamente, som, internet, video tudo ok. Porem quando tento abrir imagens, fotos qualquer coisa elas ficam com listras rosa. Isso é um saco, porque eu não consigo abrir foto nenhuma. O segundo problema vem quando eu tento resolver o primeiro. Quando eu tento atualizar o meu Yosemite para 10.10.3 ou 10.10.4 o som e a internet não funcionam mais. Não importa quantas vezes eu reinstale as kexts, não pega de jeito nenhum. Porém o problema com as listras rosa acaba. Eu consegui encontrar kernel para qualquer uma das duas versões do Yosemite, porém não adianta atualizar e ficar sem som e internet. Resumindo, eu instalo o 10.10.1 e tudo funciona, exceto as imagens que ficam bugadas, eu atualizo e as imagens ficam boas, porem a internet e o som para.   16. I am having problems with my Gigabyte Gtx 970 getting detected by Yosemite install. I have tried too many methods here and there to make it work and because I am a beginner and learning new things with each combination, I am repetitively failing to make that happen. So here are few things I did which are not working as expected: 1) I installed the appropriate drivers and tried to boot up with loading nvidia drivers from preferences center but that didn't worked. 2) I tried injectEDID, InjectNvidia and LoadVideoBios from clover bootloader option and also with the flag kext-dev-mode=1 but it failed to work. In 'about mac' it is showing gtx 970 "0"mb vram. Monitor works so slow that I can distinctly see each buffer and screen refresh every time. 3) I used additional boot flag nvda_drv=1 to make it detect the VRAM of the GPU but after the apple logo, monitor went black showing "NO SIGNAL" error where I have turn off the power supply to restart the system. Please would anyone guide me to make my 970 work with Yosemite.

  18. I've been working on getting a hackintosh installation going, but I've currently run into a snag with getting Yosemite 10.10.3 installed. (No Pictures, because I'm posting this right before class starts) What has been done Obtained a vanilla copy of OSX 10.10.3 via the AppStore with OSX Mavericks Created the installation media with "Something that isn't supported here"; Clover wouldn't work at all. Patched the kernel on the installation media to support the X99 platform (from the tonymac forum) Added VoodooTSCSync.kext to "Something that isn't supported here" in "/extra/extensions" Used Bootflags -v npci=0x2000 (Gets past verbose text; locks up on white screen w/ beachball; before the start of the installer is active.) Using nv_disable= 1 or 0 breaks loading. GraphicsEnabler=Yes / No doesn't seem to have any effect either. Un mio amico mi ha chiesto di far girare Yosemite 10.10.3 e win 7 su questa configurazione hardware: Mobo: GA-Z97-HD3 CPU: i5 4690 GPU: da integrare il mese prossimo o tra 2 mesi 2 dischi ssd, uno per Yosemite 10.10.3 e l'altro per win 7 Ho preparato la pendrive seguendo questa guida http://www.insanelym...over-v2k-r2981/ Non riesco ad avviare l'installazione, arrivo alla schermata di clover ma dopo aver scelto di avviare l'installazione si blocca, posto una foto per farvi vedere
