  5. Version (built 607)

    420 downloads

This is my mod of dimosgmx's Yosemite (10.10) Disk Utility app with the El Capitan (10.11) diskmanagementd: https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/621-disk-utility-v13-for-macos-sierrazip Please read his statements over there FIRST !! This built (607) is dimosgmx's built 606 ever-so-slightly edited* by me (BugsB) for usage in High Sierra beyond 10.13.3. It thus works in 10.12 - 10.13.6 (not yet tested in Mojave because I don't have it installed). Therefore I bumped CFBundleVersion to 607 and BuildVersion to 19 to differentiate it from dimosgmx's 606/ 18 which was only compatible up to 10.13.3. You can use it side-by-side with the default Disk Utility. NOT WORKING (at least not in High Sierra): functions which would invoke a Finder style window, like clicks onto "New Image", "Convert", "Resize Image", "Image", "File/ New/.." etc. In case of issues with the default (original/ stock/ vanilla) Disk Utility: run killall diskmanagementd, also supplied in this package. If you have the SIMBL plug-in AFLOAT installed and have not included AppleScript Utility in mySIMBL's blacklist**, you MUST blacklist Disk Utility 13 (607) (see screenshot "AFLOAT users mySIMBL application blacklist")! Virustotal result: 0 / 57 Enjoy & Greetings BugsB 2019-01-05 --- * Disk Utility 13 (607).app/Contents/MacOS/loader.sh: Added two instances of: sudo killall diskmanagementd ** in mySIMBL: System Info/ SIMBL application blacklist (because Afloat is NOT fully compatible with Apple Scripts (parts of Disk Utility 13 (60x)) PS: let me know if it also works in Mojave. Include your EXACT version (10.14.0/ .1/ .2 /.3 BETA etc.)

  7. Patch macOS Installer App for Unsupported Machines Often for economic reasons, Apple prevents the Installer.app for its latest macOS from installing on older machines perfectly capable of running it eg macOS 10.14 Mojave on Unsupported Macs Thread. In Mojave 10.14, @ASentientBot posted a method to patch the distribution file in OSInstall.mpkg to enable the Mojave installer to install on unsupported machines (with or without graphics card metal support). In Catalina 10.15beta, the above method no longer works since Apple is checking OSInstall.mpkg for its file signature and the mandatory requirement in Catalina to install to 2 separate apfs volumes necessitates using the original Catalina macOS Base System Installer. Fortunately, it is still possible to substitute High Sierra’s Apple Signed OSInstall.mpkg inside the Catalina or Mojave InstallESD.dmg by making it R/W. The procedure below will allow Macs or Hacks able to install High Sierra to also install Catalina or Mojave (eg SMBIOS MacPro5,1, iMac11,3, MacBook Pro7,1 which have been unsupported in macOS 10.14.x and 10.15beta) -credit to @ASentientBot's post. Prerequisites 1. Mac or Hack capable of and running High Sierra 10.13.x 2. An original, untouched copy of OSInstall.mpkg from High Serra InstallESD.dmg - attached OSInstall_10.13.6.mpkg.zip save to your ~/Downloads folder 3. macOS Installer App eg for Catalina beta or Mojave downloaded to /Applications 4. Add NVRAM boot arg (or Clover config.plist boot arg on a hack) -no_compat_check to enable system to boot to final completed Mojave or Catalina install. Procedure 1. Open Terminal and type the following open /Applications/Install*/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg (assuming the Catalina or Mojave Installer App is in /Applications) 2. Open Disk Utility, click File|New Image|Image from ‘InstallESD” 3. Save as read/write image, no encryption in /Applications 4. Unmount InstallESD in DU by clicking the "eject" icon next to it 5. Open the R/W InstallSD.dmg in /Applications and replace Catalina’s/Mojave's OSInstall.mpkg with High Sierra’s version by typing in terminal open /Applications/InstallESD.dmg cp ~/Downloads/OSInstall_10.13.6.mpkg /Volumes/InstallESD/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg 6. Unmount InstallESD in DU by clicking the "eject" icon next to it 7. Replace original Catalina/Mojave InstallESD.dmg with our patched one, making a backup of the original. In terminal, type sudo mv /Applications/Install*/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg /Applications/InstallESD_orig.dmg sudo mv /Applications/InstallESD.dmg /Applications/Install*/Contents/SharedSupport/ 8. Test the newly patched installer!…

  12. En veux-tu en voilà... macOS Mojave 10.14.5 beta (18F96h)
  13. After a long run, I successfully upgraded High Sierra to mojave 10.14 on an intel 5 series chipset MotherBoard. MotherBoard: H55ms2 RAM: 6GB GPU1: Saphire AMD RX 460 GPU2: Nvidia 8400GS Storage: 500 GB HDD WD Green. The requirement: 1) macOS pre mojave. 2) macOS mojave installer from Apple store. 3) Empty partition or USB to upgrade from. 4) Un-mout all unused dmgs. 5) GPT/GUID HDD. HOWOT: 1) Prepare an empty partition or USB with at least 6 GB. 2) Format the partition or USB with GUID partition table and HFS+ partition with a name BootablePartition. 3) Go to /Application/Install macOS Mojave.app. 4) Show Package Contents. 5) Go to Contents/SharedSupport you will find BaseSystem.dmg. 6) Double click on BaseSystem.dmg to mount. 7) From Disk Utilty click on your partition or the USB that you prepared from number (2). 8) Click on restore, and chose OS X Base System (BaseSystem.dmg image), then restore it to that partition or USB. 9) After restoring rename the partition back to BootablePartition. 9) Run this command: rm -rfv /Volumes/BootablePartition/System/Installation/Packages 10) Create a new folder instead of the broken link and name it Packages, run this command: mkdir -v /Volumes/BootablePartition/System/Installation/Packages 11) Go back to /Application/Install macOS Mojave.app and repeat number 2. 12) Go to Contents/SharedSupport you will find InstallESD.dmg. 13) Mount InstallESD.dmg. 14) Run this command: cp -v /Volumes/InstallESD/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg /Volumes/BootablePartition/System/Installation/Packages/ 15) Download the latest clover from https://sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot/ 16) Install clover on your USB BootablePartition or in a different USB to boot from it. delete all your CLOVER/kext/10.xx and keep others, make sure you don't have any extra kext rather than FakeSMC.kext in the other folder. in my case I used FakeSMC.kext and my lan kext RealtekRTL8111.kext. 17) known Problems in my build: If I updated directly from the apple store the installer in clover will boot with a cross circle sign. The FIX is to add this to Clover KextToPatch Thanks to @sunKi http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/327488-macos-high-sierra-final-release-is-out-17a365/page-10?do=findComment&comment=2505086 this fix is still working for me in mojave. <key>KextsToPatch</key> <array> <dict> <key>Comment</key> <string>fix IO error ICH10 for 10.13, credit SunKi</string> <key>Disabled</key> <false/> <key>Find</key> <data> RYX2D5XCiciD4P5mhcl4D4TSdQs= </data> <key>Name</key> <string>AppleAHCIPort</string> <key>Replace</key> <data> iciD4P5mhckPmMFBCMyQkJCQdQs= </data> </dict> <dict> <key>Comment</key> <string>fix hotplug ICH10 for 10.13, credit SunKi</string> <key>Disabled</key> <false/> <key>Find</key> <data> icglQGACAD1AIAAAdQyB4b9///+Ji1EBAAA= </data> <key>Name</key> <string>AppleAHCIPort</string> <key>Replace</key> <data> kJCQkJCQkJCQkJCQkJCQkJCQkJCQkJCQkJA= </data> </dict> <dict> <key>Comment</key> <string>External icons patch</string> <key>Disabled</key> <false/> <key>Find</key> <data> RXh0ZXJuYWw= </data> <key>Name</key> <string>AppleAHCIPort</string> <key>Replace</key> <data> SW50ZXJuYWw= </data> </dict> </array> 18) make sure you have apfs.efi copy it from /Volumes/BootablePartition/usr/standalone/i386/apfs.efi to your EFI/CLOVER/drivers64/ and EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/. 19) SMBIOS mac model that I use is iMac13,2. 20) Go to /Application/Install macOS Mojave.app click on it and chose to install to your macOS Mojave partition. 21) Reboot. 22) From clover chose BootablePartion. 23) If everything is okie BootablePartition will boot to install macOS mojave, wait wait wait till it finish it might take to 1 hour just wait it will reach the auto reboot soon . 24) Boot to your old macOS Hight Sierra that will be your mojave partition now and enjoy. POST Install: 1) audio: a) Download Lilu.kext and AppleALC.kext or build them from source (which I did). b) place them in your /EFI/CLOVER/kext/others/ c) add your audio layout in clover/Devices dict options in my case it's ALC888B which has the layout of 1: <key>Audio</key> <dict> <key>Inject</key> <string>1</string> </dict> d) I had to add beta args to clover/Boot dict, argument (-lilubeta -alcbeta): <key>Arguments</key> <string>-lilubeta -alcbeta</string> 2) Add number 14 KextsToPath array to your clover as well. Anything else is working for me I didn't need any extra clover kext so far, I tried whatevergreen.kext to fire up my rx 460 without the helper card but no success, So I am just sticking with booting from Nvidia as a first GPU from my motherboard configuration then swap the cables after choosing my macOS partion from clover. After upgrading my HFS+ High Sierra partition converted to APFS, no know problem so far. Happy build and more info about the partitioning method with a more detailed instructions in this post that I used to update my Sierra to High Sierra Special thanks to crazybirdy, sunKi and all of you out there that make this happens.

  17. Here is a new utility to patch the EFI firmware in VMware Workstation and Fusion to allow the non-server versions of Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) and 10.6 (Snow Leopard) to run. Yoiu will need macOS unlocker 3 if you are using Workstation on non-Apple hardware. I still have to find a way to do this on ESXi as the UEFIPatch utility will not run in the ESXi console. This currently supports: Workstation 11/12/14/15 on Windows and Linux Workstation Player 7/12/14/15 on Windows and Linux Fusion 10/11 on macOS https://github.com/DrDonk/efi-unlocker/releases/download/1.0.0/efi-unlocker100.zip https://github.com/DrDonk/efi-unlocker Please read the readme.txt file for details. readme.txt
  18. Hi, i want to buy "Broadcom bcm94350zae" for my laptop is this compatible with macOS Mojave?
  19. Currently using VMware Workstation 15.0.3, with High Sierra 10.13.6 fully updated - Mojave has some issues because of changes to how the GUI is drawn so the performance is slower so I stick with High Sierra. But I've noted - over the years this has always been the case with using macOS or OSX in VMware Workstation as a guest OS sitting on top of Windows - that the actual networking performance is pretty lackluster and I've always wondered why. I have a Windows 7 VM that I created for testing purposes, so here's the setup in terms of the physical host hardware: HP EliteBook Folio 9470m Intel i5-3427u CPU (2 cores/4 threads) 12GB of DDR3 1600 (dual channel mode, gets about 22GB/s reads and 21GB/s writes so it's fast enough) Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SATA SSD (540MB/s reads and 520MB/s writes tested and verified regularly, no issues) Intel Gigabit NIC (no issues) Gigabit Internet service (I regularly pull 950-960Mbps without issues) Windows 7 Professional x64 fully updated as of March 15th (no issues whatsoever) Doing a speedtest from my ISP I get ~950Mbps results, downloading large contiguous files from some services gives me 70-90MB/s (that's Megabytes per second) sustained bandwidth during the downloads. For the VM, it's: VMware Workstation 15.0.3 (unlocked with Donk's unlocker) macOS High Sierra 10.13.5 installed from ISO then upgraded to 10.13.6 from App Store 4GB assigned to the VM (of the 12GB physical hardware RAM) 2 "CPUs" assigned to the VM (meaning I just have it set for 1 CPU 2 cores, using the extra two threads from Hyperthreading causes some audio glitches with the VM) VMware Tools installed (latest available directly from VMware) Everything in the VM is "stock" meaning I haven't and probably can't alter the hardware profile. Now, if I go do a download from someplace that I know is fast and can provide significant bandwidth in excess of 50MB/s (that's 400Mbps by the math) like Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, or perhaps some Linux distro mirror site in my region, I end up seeing a maximum speed of about 150Mbps (that's Megabits per second) or about 18-19MB/s. Considering it's a Gigabit NIC being fed to the VM, and Gigabit Internet service, I'd like to think the VM should be showing faster speeds but it's not. No matter what I do, even if it's copying files from a network share to the VM (as a shared folder set up in the VM settings) it still maxes out at roughly ~150Mbps and I can't for the life of me figure out why. Anyone else notice this slow performance? Here's why I bring it up: With the Windows 7 VM I use for testing, as a guest OS on top of Windows 7 itself, I can pull 850-950Mbps in the same speed testing situations. But with the macOS VM, 150Mbps tops it seems. I wonder if there's a reason for this, perhaps the NIC driver in VMware Tools is just crazy inefficient with respect to using macOS on a Windows host which isn't supposed to be done, of course, but we do it anyway because we actually can (thanks to Donk and many others over the years, I have my own storied history as part of The OSx86 Project when it started up long ago). Just wondering if anyone else has ever noticed this issue. It's not a big huge hassle, of course, but it is somewhat irritating knowing the networking for the VM should be significantly faster. When I look at the Network Adapter properties inside macOS it shows a Gigabit link as far as the VMware networking driver is concerned so, again, it's just odd why it's so limited, almost a flat line at ~150Mbps and I've never been able to get it to go any faster. Bizarre... ;)

On Catalina the System folder is read-only, so you need to remount in rw to modify System/Library. If you have a single RAM and getting panic at boot, then you need to edit the "config.plist" with these (SMBIOS->after "Version 1.0"): ->Edit "Frequency" and "Size" to match your RAM values <key>Version</key> <string>1.0</string> <key>Memory</key> <dict> <key>Channels</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>SlotCount</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>Modules</key> <array> <dict> <key>Slot</key> <integer>0</integer> <key>Size</key> <integer>8192</integer> <key>Frequency</key> <integer>2133</integer> <key>Type</key> <string>DDR4</string> </dict> </array> </dict> </dict> PowerManagement fix: Set HWPEnable=YES in Clover (already set), CPUFloor to "700", Frequency to "2300" and "3200"(Normal and Turbo, if you have i7-6700HQ version then it should be "2600", "3500") and "FrequencyVectors" from "0x0d000000" to "0x07000000" in "S/L/E/IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/X86PlatformPlugin.kext/Contents/Resources/Mac-A5C67F76ED83108C.plist", MSR _xcpm_idle Patch to KernelToPatch in Clover (If you have High Sierra, change "MatchOS" to 10.13): <key>KernelToPatch</key> <array> <dict> <key>Comment</key> <string>MSR 0xE2 _xcpm_idle instant reboot(c) Pike R. Alpha</string> <key>Disabled</key> <false/> <key>Find</key> <data> ILniAAAADzA= </data> <key>MatchOS</key> <string>10.14</string> <key>Replace</key> <data> ILniAAAAkJA= </data> </dict> </array> Reboot, and it's 800MHz in idle state, same on Windows. Elan SmartTouchpad I only use scrolling, one-, double- & tripletap If you want to try other gestures go to this link for more informations, options (v4.6.5) -> DETAILS ABOUT THE SMART TOUCHPAD DRIVER FEATURES Fn Brightness keys not working with this, tried several things without success. With VoodoPS2Controller it's working, but you'll have no gestures (neither scrolling). Before updating to a new version of Catalina please update kexts (and clover if necessary) to newer versions to avoid kernel panics. Generate a serial number with Clover Configurator.app (open up your config.plist with CC then -> SMBIOS -> Serial Number -> Generate New) Catalina & Windows 10 Dual-Boot: Dual-boot clean install (on one drive), UEFI Only: Boot into your Mac installer, Create 2 partitions in GUID table (1 for Win (I used FAT32 but I think it doesn't matter what you choose), 1 for Mac), Install Mac, boot with your USB, mount your EFI partition (use terminal or an EFI mounter app), create an EFI folder (if there is no folder), copy the CLOVER folder I attached to the EFI folder, restart, Boot into your Win installer, Format the partition you created for Win, install. Now, it's automatically booting into Windows. To use Clover open cmd in administrator, type: bcdedit /set {bootmgr} path \EFI\CLOVER\CLOVERX64.efi 5. You're done! It will booting into Clover when you start the system, and you can select Win or Mac (or another OS if installed on a 3rd partition). Dual-boot with Windows installed first (on one drive), UEFI Only: If you already have Windows and you don't want to lose all your data there is a hope: I created a video from this restore method: [Hackintosh] Dual-Boot High Sierra & Windows - when Windows already installed - no data waste - UEFI You need bootable Mac Installer and a full system restore image (link is in my video's description). (You may see errors if your EFI partition is not 200 MB) Boot into your Windows, resize your partition or create one for Mac. Boot into your Mac installer and in Disk Utility format the partition you created. Restore from image: select your full system restore image. When it's finished restoring you just need to restart, then boot to the system with your usb. When you successfully booted to Mac desktop, mount your EFI partition (use terminal or an EFI mounter app), open EFI, you will see there is a Microsoft folder already (don't touch that!). Copy my CLOVER folder to the EFI folder then Restart. Now, it's automatically booting into Windows. To use Clover open cmd in administrator, type: bcdedit /set {bootmgr} path \EFI\CLOVER\CLOVERX64.efi 7. You're done! You can select your old Windows and your new macOS! (Only tried with Windows 8/8.1/10. I don't know Windows 7,etc.) IF YOU GETTING ERRORS DURING MAC RESTORE: - Make sure you have partitions in GPT - Windows using 100 MB EFI and will annoy the Mac restore. Don't worry, just ignore the errors. IF YOU GETTING ERRORS DURING WINDOWS INSTALLATION (could not be formatted, etc): - Make sure you have GPT partitions, and GPT (UEFI) installer, also disconnect all external storage drives (except the installer USB) IF YOU USED RESTORE METHOD THEN CAN'T MOUNT YOUR EFI PARTITION (No EFI partition found): - It's because your EFI is not 200 MB or not an "Apple" original EFI, but do not worry, try another EFI mounter, or mount from terminal (I used EFI mounter v3: Getting errors, but you can mount and use without problem) - You also could "mount" the EFI from Windows: 1st method: open cmd in administrator mode and type: diskpart list vol (Now select the "System" volume,(FAT 32) For example I select 4) sel vol 4 list part (Select System type partition, for example 2) sel part 2 assign letter=b (This will "mount" your EFI partition) Open Explorer++ or TotalCommander in administrator mode to manage EFI remove letter=b (This will "unmount" your EFI) 2nd method: open cmd in administrator mode and type: mountvol b: /s (This will mount your EFI) Open Explorer++ or TotalCommander in administrator mode to manage EFI mountvol b: /d (This will unmount your EFI) Thanks to all OSXLatitude members for helping me out! 24. Hey all, I have a PC with the following AMD FX 6300 CPU Gigabyte 78-LMT-USB3 Mobo Sapphire Nitro RX 460 (4GB) Sierra is installed, and runs fine with these flags: UseKernelCache=No -f -v -x npci=0x2000 But if I try to use UseKernelCache=No -f -v npci=0x2000 Sierra freezes after DSMOS arrives Images: Safe Boot: Freezing after DSMOS: I'm using Enoch and Sierra GM (10.12.0) I've removed these kexts from /S/L/E pmtelemetry.kext AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext AppleTyMCEDriver.kext Kernel is 10.12.0 beta from Bronya, with /S/L/E/System.kext replaced by Bronya's copy. I haven't as yet merged the frameworks, but will be doing so in the next 10 minutes. Any ideas? What I've done so far: - Merged frameworks, no changes when booting normally, or in safe mode. - Updated FakeSMC to latest RehabMan build, no change when booting normally, or in safe mode - Updated SMBios to MacPro5,1 from iMac17,1. No change when booting normally, or in safe mode
  25. I have a Lenovo P52 laptop, Xeon E-2176M hexacore, 32GB mem, SSD, 4K display running VMware Workstation 15, latest darwin.iso. I freshly installed Mojave in a VM. The VM has 8 GB mem, 2 Proc, 2 Cores, 100GB single file disk. VMware Tools is installed in the VM. When I boot, it takes roughly 4-5 seconds for the Apple logo to show up (after the EFI boot) and then roughly 80 seconds to get the Apple desktop. Is this expected performance ? I know this is virtualized, but even my 2009 MacBook Pro boots faster than this. I have searched but not found any notes regarding performance. And related to video performance, if I start LaunchPad, it appears relatively quickly but if I select the "Other" folder which typically contains the Utilities, that may take 5 seconds to show up. I know this is a video performance issue but do not know how to fix this...
