  1. Hello I have a laptop HP EliteBook 840 G2 - Core i5 5300U - 2.3 GHz and graphic card intel HD5500 and installed a SIERRA , but the definition of the graphics card is not installed
  2. Budget Workstation MacOS 10.14.1 build: z370 AORUS Gaming 5 - i5-8600K - RX 580 - UHD 630 flawless iGPU/dGPU integration, fast FCPX editing/rendering, great overall performance for ~$1200 / ~£1000 Update: updated WhateverGreen and Lilu, then updated OS to 10.14.3 and everything is fine! Even iMessage, which previously I hadn't been able to make work, is now working - possibly the update flushed the NVRAM? I'm gonna come straight out and admit it - I used newb tools which are considered taboo on InsanelyMac, and so this isn't so much an installation guide as it is a green flag to anyone considering the same hardware. My first and previous Hackintosh project was just over ten years ago and this site was massively helpful, so this is my (very small) way of giving back. EFI DIRECTORY http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=97606131925137056003 HARDWARE CPU: Intel i5-8600K 3.6GHz hexacore (contains UHD 630 iGPU) CPU Cooler: be quiet! Pure Rock Slim (no paste needed, and fan facing front) Mobo: GIGABYTE z370 AORUS Gaming 5 (WIFI) RAM: 1x 8GB CORSAIR Vengeance LPX C16 2666MHz (in first slot) GFX Card: Sapphire RX 580 NITRO+ SE SATA: used ports 0, 1, 3, 5 (HDD problems when connected to port 4) HDD: generic DVD Drive: generic PSU: EVGA 500W Semi Modular (but you should get 650W!) Case: CoolerMaster CM590 III Fans: 2x stock case fans (one sucky on front, one blowy on back), 3x be quiet! BL046 120mm fans (two blowy on top, one sucky on front). Airflow near-perfectly balanced. ADVICE With the Clover configuration, you want to pay close attention to all things relating to graphics. There are some specific settings for ACPI, Boot, Devices and Graphics which should be copied exactly in order to get the iGPU and dGPU to work in perfect harmony. For instance, make sure you use ig-platform-id 59120003 rather than 59120000 if you want FCPX to be usable. With the right settings, FCPX will not only run, but run flawlessly. I was not able to figure out how to make NVRAM/PRAM behave itself, and I got errors when I tried to issue relevant commands. As a result, I could not at first get iMessage to work properly. It worked once on my first installation attempt but not from subsequent attempts. This Clover configuration therefore has no consideration whatsoever toward iMessage reliability - however, iMessage ended up working somehow, anyway - I noticed it after I'd updated to 10.14.3 but this may just have been coincidence. Onboard WiFi does not work. There is no driver for it. I'm using wired ethernet to a bridge router as it was cheaper than getting a compatible PCI card. Audio is working well after I installed the z370 audio patch, then the ALC1220 codecs, then AppleALC. With kexts for generic 3rd party SATA and generic 3rd party eSATA, my HDDs and DVD drive work perfectly well. Sleep/Wake functions run perfectly. iCloud functions run perfectly. Shutdown leaves the mobo LEDs on, annoyingly. My USB 3 ports seem to suffer from low power output, and I don't know why. Overall, this system appears to run about as well under MacOS 10.14 Mojave as it does under Windows 7. I would solidly recommend this build to anyone looking to build a computer for workstation purposes, on a budget.

    Cerco i5-4690k

Ciao, come da titolo cerco un i5-4690k, se funzionante è meglio!
  5. Right guys I'm off to NY in the next couple of weeks right around black friday. i live in the uk, so am going to take advantage of the cheaper hardware when I'm over. and buy a new laptop or 2 in 1, to replace my now elderly acer 5742. I need the following specs, 6th or 5th gen i5/core M 8gb ram, and full HD screen at a minimum (photoshop and illustrator are my living) a working trackpad (I see a lot of laptops have issues here) and swappable or compatible wi-fi.. i don't mind switching a card out or inserting a new one into a m.2 slot, but don't want a external inelegant dongle solution. and something that isn't a house brick. so slimmer the better. the budget isn't huge.. hence looking in sales for a last gen model. something between $400 to $800 max. I am comfortable with fiddling with bios settings, editing kext's, running scripts etc, but the results have to be stable, and the machine useable day to day.It will be a second machine as I have a very stable skylake desktop I built around 10 months ago. I have done a lot of reading on various hackintoshing sites, but a lot of the info is for older laptops that are not currently available new, or they seem to have major issues with soldered in wi-fi, and wonky trackpads. and as my time is running short, I figured it be easier to just ask what currently works and can be purchased. so if you can provide a make and model number and any changes that need to be done to get sierra installed. and if you have a link to a big retailer.. even better. I hope someone can help.
  6. Good day, I'm trying to install OSX El Capitan on my laptop all the time. I have a laptop with a Intel CORE i5 430M Arrandale CPU and first generation Intel HD Graphics. The problem is the graphics card. I have deleted the kext for the graphics card to install El Capitan. After installing it boots also without error messages, but then comes a graphic error. The graphics error was already before I had deleted the Kext before installing. The graphics error should not come, however, if I had deleted the kext? I can install OSX successfully, but when booting comes a graphic error. I have also searched the Internet for solutions. The solutions I had found only work after a successful boot. I have tried it with other graphics kext, but without success. I also have no other computer with OSX. Best regards

  8. I made a spreadsheet comparing all the available Haswell & Skylake Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 CPUs. My goal was to find the best low-power processor for use in a low-profile HTPC. I thought I'd post it in case anyone else finds it useful. Let me know if you do! https://goo.gl/LKckKP
  9. Hello for everyone! Does anyone solved the HDMI audio on the Intel HD 4600? I've a PC armed with an Intel i5 Haswell, Intel HD Graphics 4600 1536 MB and Realtek® ALC887-VD2 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC, which connect it to an LG screen with a generic HDMI cable. Previously, I looked at a famous forum solution (Toleda) and having read and read, and reread the method (really it is very confusing ) but I ended up solving the audio through headphones but that worked the front ports PC (had to use the back). Currently after upgrading OS, I tried to fix it again and ended up with a big problem with kexts without audio and sometimes on and sometimes stays at the Apple logo. I USE CLOVER. I would be grateful for your help, if you need some more information or any file, tell me . THANKS.
Hey guys, I'm new to this ans this is my first post... I have never had to post anything before, I always found the solution myself. But this time, I seriously need some help. My cousin has a Macbook Pro 2015 running El Capitan on it. So we were following step by step every single thing we saw in this youtube video : We got to the point where we had to boot from the USB. Everything was working perfectly. I had the apple logo, progress bar was going smoothly until it filled completely. And then I waited... And waited... And waited... nothing. Decided to try verbose mode. Got this : "com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (org.ntp.sntp.117) 《Warning》: Service exited with abnormal code: 255" So... started doing what I do best.. Googling! I found SO MANY THINGS. Tried moving my kexts, tried putting some stuff in the boot args, so many things... now I'm just lost. It's an intel i5 processor, 8GB RAM, intel HD graphics, so basically all intel... Should work, no?
  12. I have recently built myself a new hackintosh as my old one was slowly getting passed it. My specs are Motherboard: Asus z97-p Processor: i5 4690k Ram: 16GB DDR3 HDD: SSD 256 GB Etc. I am currently running it via the internal gpu on the board as I don't really have the funds to purchase a gpu card just yet due to buying parts for the build. The issue I have is the install is pretty much vanilla with just toledos alc patch and rehabman's pciidfix installed for the hd 4600 graphics. The computer works perfectly with full qe/ci when i use the DVI output on the mobo and everything works fine. I tried to turn it on via the hdmi output today as this was one of the things i wanted from my new build. However, the apple boot up logo goes to about half way and stops and doesn't move n matter how long i leave it. The flags are the same used as the ones when using DVI and the bootloader is the latest clover. I have tried to run verbose mode and safe mode but the screen just gets stuck on some writing about a drive being dirty, but my SSD is the only drive in there at the moment. It worked fine again when i booted with the DVI monitor attached and also through the HDMI when i used enoch chameleon, obviously without the correct resolution or graphics acceleration. If anyone could point me in the right direction this would be great thanks.
  13. Hi everyone, I recently assembled my new pc composed by: - MSI H97 gaming 3 - Intel i5 4690 @ 3,5 gHz - Samsung 850 evo 256GB - WD Caviar Green 1TB - Galax GTX 970 Black Edition 4GB I would be happy to install mac os on it, i need it. Before I buy it on the net they told me it could be compatible(-.-). I tried to install Yosemite and also El capitan. The bios settings should be correct, to boot installation I used these flags in many different combos: -v -x -f nv_enabler=1 npci=0x2000 GraphicsMode=Yes GraphicsMode=No PCIRootUID=0 PCIRootUID=1 maxmem=4096 cpus=1 Results: -Yosemite "Clean"(with Clover) - It gives me "misssing bluetooth controller" error and then freeze -Yosemite-Zone.dmg - After a lot of tries, it starts installation, but after 2 minutes (11 to finish) they crash with "Essential.pkg" error. -El Capitan(with clover) - When I boot usb pen it starts Windows, bios try to boot, but after skip the pen. Tried in UEFI and in legacy. I'm desperated, I don't know what I have to try! Someone can help me? Sorry for my easy english and thanks for the time.

    10.10.3 + win 7, GA-Z97-HD3, i5 4690

Buon giorno a tutti ragazzi!
  16. OS X Yosemite on The Surface Pro 3 ------------------------------------------------------ I wrote this guide with a Hackintosh newbie in mind. I walk everything out step-by-step. And, know that you are following this guide at your own risk. I take no responsibility in any loss of data or broken machine. However, I'm confident that that won't happen if you are careful. What is not working: WIFI Bluetooth Touchscreen : Alex.doud is currently coding touchscreen and trackpad drivers for the Surface Pro 3's i2c controller. Sleep Trackpad gestures What works but is buggy: Graphics: QE/CI + HiDPI works with minor graphic glitches Audio does not play through the headphone jack ------------------------------------------------------ Requirements Hardware: USB Flash Drive: 8 GB or more Access to a computer running OS X (Can be done in a virtual machine) Optional: A USB Hub, USB Keyboard, and USB Mouse (Just in case the Type Cover doesn't work during install) Software: OS X 10.10 Yosemite Install Application Surface Pro 3 Driver Pack.zip Clover bootloader Kext Utility ------------------------------------------------------ Step 1: Making Space for OS X Boot into Windows 8 On the Start Screen type: compmgmt.msc and press enter. This should open "Computer Management" on your desktop. Click on "Disk Management" under the "Storage" header on the left panel. Right click on the "Windows (C:)" block on the bottom half of the middle window and choose "Shrink Volume" Here you can shrink your Windows partition to make room for you OS X install. Choose a value over 15GB to give yourself room to install OS X and have storage left over. Optional: Right click on the new partition and rename it "OS X" (or something you will remember) -- This will make it easier to pick out in the OS X install if need be. ------------------------------------------------------ Step 2: Creating the OS X Install USB This step requires access to OS X. If you already have the "Install OS X Yosemite" application in your Application folder skip down to step 2b : Step 2a: Downloading OS X Yosemite Open the App Store Download the OS X Yosemite installer Step 2b: Preparing the USB Drive Open the Disk Utility application found in the Utilities folder inside the Application Folder. Click on your USB Drive on the left panel. Choose "Erase" on the top bar Choose "Mac OS X Extended" as the Format and name the drive "Install" Once completed open the Terminal application (Also in the Utilities folder) Copy and paste this command at the prompt: sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Install --applicationpath "/Applications/Install OS X Yosemite.app" --nointeraction This step takes about 30 minutes to finish. When it's done you will need to then install the Clover boot loader to the USB. Open the Clover installer found in the "Surface Pro 3 Driver Pack" Click Continue twice and then choose "Change Install Location" Choose the "Install OS X Yosemite" USB drive and press Continue Click "Customize". Here check: Install for UEFI booting only Themes Drivers64UEFI Click Install and wait for it to finish. Once it finishes you should see a new "EFI" drive mounted. Navigate to the "CLOVER" folder found in the "EFI" folder at root. Copy "config.plist" from the "Surface Pro 3 Driver Pack" here Navigate to the "patched" folder found in the "ACPI" folder. Copy the contents of "DSDT" from the "Surface Pro 3 Driver Pack" here. Navigate back to the "CLOVER" folder. Navigate to the "10.10" folder found in the "kexts" folder. Copy the contents of "KEXTs" from the "Surface Pro 3 Driver Pack" here. Your done, eject the USB drive. ------------------------------------------------------ Step 3: Installing OS X Yosemite Hold the Up button of the volume rocker on the Surface Pro 3 while powering up the machine. Touch or click on "Secure Boot Control" choose "Disabled" Touch or click on "Exit Setup" Power the machine off if it boots into Windows 8. Insert your USB drive into the USB port of the Surface Pro 3. Hold the Down button on the volume rocker on the Surface Pro 3 while powering the machine. Once Clover boots navigate to "Boot OS X Install from Install OS X Yosemite" and press space Go down to "Boot Mac OS X with Injected kexts". Wait... the installer will boot eventually. Once booted choose the Disk Utility application from either the top bar or from the window that the installer opens up to (sometimes). Here you will locate your "OS X" partition (or whatever you named it) and choose Erase like you did for the USB drive. Choose "Mac OS X Extended, Journaled" and name it whatever you want. Close the disk utility and follow the installation prompts. Several times I had the installer "finish" and reboot, but it wasn't complete. If you don't see your OS X drive in Clover after the installer reboot, re-run the installer and it will continue on it's own. ------------------------------------------------------ Step 4: Finishing Touches Power off the machine Hold the Down button on the volume rocker to boot from the USB. Once in the Clover boot loader Navigate to "Boot Mac OS X from <OS X partition name>" Press space and go down to "Boot Mac OS X with Injected kexts". Yosemite SHOULD boot and work. If your type cover does not work on boot you will need to modify your "IOUSBFamily.kext". Step 4a: Modifying ISOUSBFamily.kext for a working Type Cover You can do this step on another computer with OS X or you can do it on your new install Open a new Finder window by clicking on the Finder icon on the dock. Click on the "Go" option in the top toolbar and choose "Computer" Double click on "Yosemite", followed by "System", then "Library", and finally "Extensions" Scroll down and find "IOUSBFamily.kext", copy it to your desktop. Rename the KEXT in your Extensions folder to "IOUSBFamily.kext.bak" Right click on the "IOUSBFamily.kext" on the desktop and choose "Show Package Contents" Double click on "Contents", and then "Plugins" Right Click on "IOUSBHIDDriver.kext"and choose "Show Package Contents" Double click on "Contents" Right click on "Info.plist", select "Open with", and choose "Other" Choose "Textedit" from the application choices. Scroll down to the bottom and locate: <key>Generic Keyboard</key> Near the bottom. Copy the entire section, it should look like this: <key>Generic Keyboard</key> <dict> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>com.apple.iokit.IOUSBHIDDriver</string> <key>HIDDefaultBehavior</key> <string></string> <key>IOClass</key> <string>IOUSBHIDDriver</string> <key>IOProviderClass</key> <string>IOUSBInterface</string> <key>bInterfaceClass</key> <integer>3</integer> <key>bInterfaceProtocol</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>bInterfaceSubClass</key> <integer>1</integer> </dict> Now, paste what you copied below the first </dict> Once copied, find <key>bInterfaceProtocol</key> near the bottom. Change <integer>1</integer> to <integer>0</integer> Now, go one below to <key>bInterfaceSubClass</key> Change <integer>1</integer> to <integer>3</integer> your modified portion should look like this: <key>Generic Keyboard</key> <dict> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>com.apple.iokit.IOUSBHIDDriver</string> <key>HIDDefaultBehavior</key> <string></string> <key>IOClass</key> <string>IOUSBHIDDriver</string> <key>IOProviderClass</key> <string>IOUSBInterface</string> <key>bInterfaceClass</key> <integer>3</integer> <key>bInterfaceProtocol</key> <integer>0</integer> <key>bInterfaceSubClass</key> <integer>3</integer> </dict> Save the document and close out all of the windows. Download the "Kext Utility" Open Kext Utility and drag the modified kext from your desktop to it Once KEXT utility completes, reboot your machine and you should have a working Type Cover Step 4b: Installing Clover and Booting Without a USB Stick Do this at your own risk. It seems that it has been hit or miss. Open the Clover installer found in the "Surface Pro 3 Driver Pack" Click Continue twice and then choose "Change Install Location" Choose your Yosemite partition and press Continue Click "Customize". Here check: Install Clover in the ESP Themes Drivers64UEFI Click Install and wait for it to finish. Once it finishes you should see a new "SYSTEM" drive mounted. Navigate back to the Clover Root folder and copy "CLOVERX64.EFI". Navigate back to the "EFI" folder and open the "Microsoft" directory. Then navigate to the "Boot" folder. Rename "bootmgfw.efi" to "bootmgfw-orig.efi" Paste the "CLOVERX64.EFI" into this folder. Rename "CLOVERX64.EFI" to "BOOTX64.EFI" Now, reboot. Your Surface Pro 3 should now boot into the Clover boot loader allowing you to choose if you want to boot into Windows or OS X ------------------------------------------------------ You will need to get a USB WIFI dongle to access the internet, and a USB Bluetooth dongle to use Bluetooth. To fix SOME of the graphical glitches you can choose the color profile "sRGB IEC61966-2.1" in the Displays section of "System Preferences" ------------------------------------------------------
  17. Hey everyone, I have recently got hold of a T410 laptop for christmas, of which is the Intel HD Graphics version. It has 8GB of RAM and is currently running Windows 7 and requires an old (disallowed to say what bootloader disc to be inside) in order to boot to an install of Snow Leopard I have made. The first thing I did when I got my laptop was install Mavericks using the boot flag: GraphicsEnabler=yes However, I never really knew what to do after the install as it was my first time installing Mac successfully. What I mean by I didn't know what to do, is that it would simply not boot after install. I now know that there are a few Kexts scattered here and there throughout the forums, some contradicting others saying first generation HD Graphics are not supported, whilst others say they are and it has been very confusing. A common error I get whenever booting any kind of installation or even my install of Snow Leopard (which runs fine) is that is says There is an error starting this computer, pausing 5 seconds. Not sure if this means anything, As of now, I can not install Mavericks anymore, not even through the Niresh distro I used to begin with. Some of the time in the verbose mode, there is often an error saying that certain playlists are not found either which can also lead me to believe I need to add some kind of modified version or extra files. One last thing I want to note is that I would like it if somebody could maybe compile me a zip or gather some useful resources such as Playlist files, kexts, and other things that may help me get Mavericks (or even Yosemite now) onto my T410. I have tried all installers, such as Yosemite (through transmac as a distro), I have tried Mavericks (Niresh Distro again), and I have even tried downloading a non-distro and installing it to USB through myHack on Snow Leapoard, and there has been no luck. Thanks for reading this and I hope that maybe somebody can help me get a stable OSX on my Laptop. Forgot to mention another confusion: I don't know how to inject kexts into the USB installer itself, and whether you should do it before or after installation of OSX.
  18. Hi guys, Now we have woking both Yosemite and Mavericks on Asus Zenbook UX32A with core i5. Clover and kexts attached to this post. For Yosemite use: OSX_Yosemite_Zenbook_ux32a_i5_Clover OSX_Yosemite_Zenbook_ux32a_i5_Kexts For Mavericks: OSX_Mavericks_Zenbook_ux32a_i5_Clover OSX_Mavericks_Zenbook_ux32a_i5_Kexts Photo of happiness I have attached AppleHDA from Mavericks with is working in Yosemite. If you find solution how to run audio with native Yosemite kext please inform us, thanks! You should replace native Intel Centrino Wi-Fi card to be able to run Wi-Fi. I have used Broadcom BCM943225HM without BT. You can found Kext for it in Kexts archive. Working: Video Audio (Mavericks AppleHDA patched) Fn keys Camera HDMI Video Battery Sleep (not so fast, but seems it is working) Known Issues: Slowly switching off (Yosemite, I know here is field of improving) HDMI Audio does not work Need to be investigated: Card reader. (I really don't think that Card reader is working). Hope we can improve this system setup. Not relevant information now (keep it here for medical history): Specs: Intel® Core™ i5 3317U Intel® HM76 Express Chipset DDR3 1600 MHz SDRAM 2Gb internal + 8Gb Kingston Integrated Intel® HD Graphics 4000 Broadcom working Wi-Fi card (Replaced from Intel) 3x USB 3.0 (No 2.0 ports) Bootloader: Clover r3065 Virtualization and Vt-d disabled in BIOS. Post revisions: 1. In case of PCI configuration End stuck (with my files) I tried to pass USBBusFix=Yes and got the same situation as with 12arity files (mbinit stuck). 2. GraphicsEnabler=No does not help me proceed with mbinit stuck. 3. I have tried with cpus=1 and got new output (3rd screen) 4. I have removed slide=0 form flags and got new state (4th screen) 5. I have placed AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext into kexts folder and got the same as with cpus=1. So I decided leave AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext and remove cpus=1 flag. Seems this is the farthest point where I was able to reach. I have uploaded my current setup (On Dropbox, because it is too big to be uploaded here). Please take a look. I don't know what to do next 6. Please see update in TL:TR section. We have working system now. Good luck! And if you got any problem with this hardware please ask here. 19. Hello, I have installed Yosemite Beta 5 on a new system I'm working on: -GA-H87M-HD3 -i5-4430 -8GB HyperX FURY RAM -iMac 14,2 smbios I am using the Chameleon Bootloader with Generate P and C states disabled and the DropSSDT=yes However, the SSDT I have generated does't seem to be working, as I only get P-States 8 and 30. Is there something else I need to do in order to get more P-states? In Mavericks, I was getting a few more P-states with a generated SSDT (around 4-6). Thank you for your help.
  20. Hi all I've managed to get a working OSX installation, albeit one with many issues to fix. Your help would be immensely appreciated!! My full laptop specs are in my signature. My current set up is a UEFI dual boot on my Samsung NP740U3E-A01SG laptop using Clover, with which I boot Windows 8 and Mavericks 10.9.4. I made my USB installed based on vanilla Mavericks from App Store and then installed Clover on the USB's EFI partition. I also understand that it would be difficult for you guys to help me with so many problems at once, so I have listed them down in priority. The most pressing issue now is the graphics. It would display artifacts which persist until I do a reboot, and the artifacts would appear on random. Sometimes I would be able to boot just fine with perfect graphics, resolution and colour. Other times it would be a mild distortion, so I can still do work on OSX. Yet other times, the artifacts would be so terrible that nothing intelligible can be made out on the screen. Fixes I have tried to no avail: injecting EDID into Clover's config.plist as well as the fix described here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/208410-fixing-scrambledstretched-or-wrong-resolution-laptop-display-problems/ 2. Ethernet. Best I have achieved so far is to have Ethernet connected but unable to get IP address or internet connection. IP address becomes self-assigned and does not result in internet connectivity. Fixes tried: installing Realtek RTL81xx.kext 3. Touchpad. I have installed ApplePS2ElanTouchpad.kext but it is still buggy. When I do a click-drag operation, the pointer will hang and I would have to use the USB mouse. Keyboard however works fine. If I uninstall the ApplePS2Elantouchpad kext, both laptop keyboard and touchpad will not work, requiring the use of USB mouse and keyboard. 4. Sound. Cannot adjust volume nor play soundtracks. 5. Sleep. I read that NullCPUPowerManagement breaks sleep, but is there a way around that? Less important issues to be resolved are: a. Bluetooth remains switched on without the ability to switch off. b. Wireless. Since I am running an Intel wireless card which I know it is unsupported, I have ordered from Ebay a Broadcomm DW1510 to be installed. So I will further update on this point in 3 weeks when it is delivered. Samsung RV420

Boa noite pessoal. Pimentel, Allan sou eu novamente. Arrumei um Samsung para fazer uns testes, consegui instalar o Snow Rentail logo de cara com o ibxxt, mas é claro que não ia ser fácil. Vou colocar as especificações e você me orientem por favor, qual OSX consigo instalar nesse, alem do Snow?

  23. Hey Guys, first topic post! I have a Samsung RF511 (I5 Sandy, 8GB RAM, Intel 3000 graphics) and It will not boot Mavericks without a USB bootloader still inside. I have tried to install Chameleon and Enoch Multiple times to the HDD, but with no apparent luck, however... I think that it has something to do with the F4 Recovery option at the POST or BIOS startup screen , as when I pressed it, It booted up chameleon , I clicked on OS X, and it crashed! So I formatted the HDD and tried again, nothing at all this time! Don't know if this matters but... When the USB is in it boots up but when its out, it gives me a Error: "Reboot with proper boot device, or insert boot device and press a key" If ANYONE knows of a solution, I will be of great appreciation -UPDATE- I have now followed this guide TO THE LETTER to boot Mavericks: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280756-guide-the-all-in-one-guide-to-vanilla- os-x-including-chameleon-dsdt-for-beginners-updated-for-mavericks/ However the USB still won't work ??? 24. Trying to boot to Niresh Mavericks Via USB, have tried GraphicsEnabler=No, however, after it runs through the verbose boot, I get a screen that looks like the following. I am running a First-Gen Core i5, with GMA900 Graphics (I think.) Here's is the screen. https://www.dropbox.com/s/sh8dkftxu5gwag9/IMG_20140318_195405_464.jpg
  25. I'm currently on a $1,000 budget. I got a build recommendation for that price on reddit, here it is: CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport XT 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB Video Card (I already own one of these, so this would be my second, so I can run SLI) Case: Corsair 500R White ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 620W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply I am looking into purchasing this computer to both play and develop games. I plan on making games for Windows, Android, iOS, and Macintosh platforms. I already own a May 2009 Macbook, but I'm afraid it wouldn't get the job done for me when it comes to making games, as I'm more of a desktop person. Because of that, I decided I would look into splitting Mac OS X and Windows 7 across my computer. Anyways, my questions are, -Will this hardware work with building a Macintosh? (I already know I can get just one of my 660 TIs working, and that SLI will not work with mac.) -In opinion, do you think that Mac would be a good OS to do these things: Texturing Video Editing Music Making -If the CPU did work with Mac, would I be able to use it if it was overclocked? Thank you.
