  2. Hi guys. Sometimes I am a complete noob, so I deleted two kexts from S/L/E and now my Asus Q200E laptop with OS X El Capitan boot hangs on kernel panic. I still can enter go through Clover to reach Recovery Mode and use Terminal, so I've put the two kexts on a USB pendrive and after some struggle I've managed to succefully copy them using Terminal, but the boot is still stuck on kernel panic. As I remember, these are the commands I've typed: mount -rw cp -a /Volumes/usb-stick/name.kext /Volumes/my-osx-drive/System/Library/Extensions Is there anything else I should do? Is anything wrong? Should I type some command else? For instance, should I type something to fix permissions and rebuild cache? Thanks a lot!

  5. I know this is kind of broad, but if I build a workstation that's well supported on High Sierra now, how likely is it to still work well with the next major OSx release next fall? If you had to guess, what % chance do I have of encountering major issues when trying to update next fall? The kinds of issues that would seriously interfere with my day to day work of photo and video editing? For example, kext/kernel panics (is that even a thing still?) or major pieces of hardware suddenly not being supported, and so on... Has migrating your Hackintosh to the latest release has gotten easier in recent years? So for those of you who have been making builds for a while, is going from Sierra to High Sierra causing you fewer problems than Mavericks --> Yosemite for example or Yosemite --> El Capitan etc? Sorry if this is a bit broad and ignorant, but I've been away from the forums for quite a while and just trying to get a sense of how "stable" and "future-proof" Hackintoshes are these days - compared to Apple's own desktops ... I'm OK not updating incrementally ie v13.1 to v13.2 if I need to, but I'm worried about having to start completely from scratch with each new main version.
  7. I have installed El Capitan on my y510p laptop using Clover. followed this thread Actually everything worked quite well. The time when everything ready, even keep switch windows and mac os also no problem. Then eventually I going back to my windows 10 and did my stuff. In the next day, when I want to boot into Mac OS, then problem come (WHAT? the last boot was just perfect! Why so sudden?) I couldn't boot into my Mac OS. It gave me infinite spinning ball after logging in. OK, fine, I reformatted it. I reinstalled everything and even EFI partition. Everythings worked well again. Then I used back my windows 10 and did my stuff. The next day, SAME THING HAPPENED. I reinstalled everything again. This time I reinstalled both my windows 10 and Mac OS. Wow, Worked well. Then the next day, stucking at apple logo. Above are my reformat processes. Now I'm going to explain my debugging about this. I tried to boot in verbose mode, safe mode. I tried to use disk utility to repair my disk. What I got is "disk could not verified" DiskWarrior expensive, so I used MacDrive 10, tried to repair the disk. Couldn't repair and get "internal result 8". So what should I do, it could not even stand over one night. Is my windows break Mac OS partition? EFI breaks Mac OS partition? Clover break Mac os partition? Hardware problem? but my windows works perfectly. PLEASE help me.

  9. Hi! I'm about to laying hands into a IBM System X3100 M4 entry-level server, to employ it as audio workstation. The specs of this particular machine are: Processor: Xeon E3-1220v2 Memory: 4 GB (1600 MHz) Video controller: Matrox MGA G200eR2 Memory 16 MB (shared) HDD Hot-swap HDD controllers SAS/SATA Channels 1 Connector int. 2 Connector ext. 0 RAID: M1015 Controller LAN: Intel 82546EB I know I will not go to any place with the G200eR2, so I need a graphics card anyways. I want to know if there could have some problems with this setup, apart of that. Thanks for any help!
  10. Hi I've managed to install OSX El Capitan on my Dell XPS 8000 using lots of tutorials and forums on here so I really appreciate the effort everyone has put into making this resource available. 3 main issues with my hackintosh 1.Audio does not work - I've been recommended to try the ALC887 (non legacy or legacy??) audio driver using the recommended post installer - I guess I have to disable SMC to get this to work. 2. SATA dvd rw and SATA hdd do not appear once in OSX. I need to add an AHCIPort Injector.kext with possible ICH8 dev id to the clover boot loader? but which one? 3. Is the icloud/facetime/appstore/update download for Sierra log in thing an issue on hackintosh? Everytime I set a generated config.plst file with created details from my system it breaks the clover bootloader so I have given up. I'm happy to assist how I managed to get my Dell XPS 8000 to work as far as I have if anyone needs a hand doing so. Thanks in advanced. S
  11. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/31-vmware-tools-for-os-x-darwiniso/ Please tell me, what is the difference between the 8.5.6 and 8.5.5 versions of the VMWare tools for OS X ? Probably by mistake, the changelog for 8.5.6 and 8.5.5 is the same. What is a real changelog between them?

  13. Hi guys, I have a HP Probook 4540s with an i5 3380M CPU, 8gb RAM and a 250GB SSD. I have booted to the installer and installed El Capitan to the SSD but after a restart I boot once again via the USB but this time hoping to boot my fresh install from the SSD but it is not there. The UEFI clover boot loader is only showing my USB boot stick and not the SSD with the install of El Capitan on. The SSD was erased and formatted, journaled and GUID. I have made hack's before but never had this issue after installing OS X Any ideas on this please ?
  14. I changed i3-530 to xeon x3460. First i change cpu section with cpu section of i7-860. During loading the signal on the monitor vanishes (black screen). Then i maked cpu section from linux SSDTs - same problem. I try boot with imac and macpro smbios. There are no errors in logs. Boot fine only with nv_disable=1 in low resolution. I think problem with GPU section in DSDT. How can i fix it without installing clover? 15. I have a working Niresh Yosemite 10.10.5 install on my PC with Clover UEFI as the bootloader. I'd like to update it to El Capitan if possible. I've tried to do it through the Install El Capitan update app as I heard that it works as long as you have Clover. The program worked fine but when I try to boot into the Installer through Clover, I get the black Apple screen (without loading bar) followed by a black screen with a circle and a slash through it. I booted in verbose and got a message saying something about it not being able to boot. Any suggestions or other ways to upgrade to El Capitan? Rebooting after a long sleep

After leaving my machine sleeping for at least 5h it reboots with no sign of failure or panics. This is everything that happens the minute before it reboots (I think). http://pastebin.com/raw/CnAMxJr1 Running El Capitan 10.11.6 with latest Clover and NVIDIA Web Driver on GA-Z87-HD3 motherboard. My /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.11/ Can someone help me, please? Thank you!
  17. Hi, I have built my Hackintosh on 2012 succesfully with MountainLion 10.8.6 I used two monitors with GTX-650 ti ( HDMI & DVI ) with no problem. Now with the same Hackintosh I moved to El Capitan 10.11.6 ( Clean Install / Clover ) The install and Post Instalation went OK , but when I restart and tried to boot I got REBOOT LOOPS all the time, It was very frustrating.. After a lot research and trial & error , I finally got it work ( No reboot Loops anymore ) by Enabling Nvidia Eject ( something like Graphics Enabler=YES) I finally managed to boot normaly to El Capitan. BUT now, I cannot use both monitors. The only port that works now is the DVI port . I have also downloadd latest CUDA ( not web drivers ) but with no luck . If I remove the EjectNvidia option I know that both monitors gonna work , but then Im gonna have reboot loops again ! Is there any other alternative solution to make both monitors work ? Is it possible to solve it with a DSDT patch ? Mobo:Z77X-UD5H CPU:Intel Core i7-3770K Graphics:GeForce GTX 650 Ti

    Passaggio a Sierra

Buongiorno a tutti. Secondo voi con il mio fisso in firma posso passare a Sierra? E' compatibile? Grazie in anticipo a tutti. Buona giornata.
  19. Hi, guys. I’m facing a problem with a wifi/bluetooth combo card. I bought this PCI-e 1X adapter and a BCM943224PCIEBT2 (BCM43224) card, which is a common module on Macbook Air models from 2010 up to 2012. The items were bought separately, and when they both arrived I installed on a PCIe slot of my machine running OSX 10.11.5 (El Capitan) and connected the mandatory micro usb port of the module on a USB port on the back of my Gigabyte motherboard using the provided cable. The wifi is fully recognised and works effortlessly and though the bluetooth module is present on the Preferences Pane and on OSX menu bar, it simply doesn’t recognise my Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard (they both are recognised by my Macbook Pro). I tried to make it recognise something else (an AirTracks bluetooth headphone), but it was to no avail. Strangely, there is a unknown device which appears on the bluetooth panel which I have no idea what it is (it is not mine for sure, it could be from a neighbour or it simply could be an error, since it doesn’t recognise my Apple devices which are in front of it). This unknown device is shown with the Magic Mouse icon, but it doesn’t connect too and it is not shown on the Magic Mouse portion of the Pref Pane. I installed Sierra and Mavericks on a separate partition to verify if it was not simply an El Capitan issue, but it worked the same way on both: wifi fully working, bluetooth present on Preferences Panel, but nothing is recognised. I’m already providing the System Information screenshots showing the wifi, bluetooth and USB Hub info for you to check what is possibly wrong here. My setup is made of an Intel i7 4770 on a Gigabyte Z97M-D3H with 16Gb of ram (2x8 HyperX modules) and OSX installed on a SanDisk SDSSDA240G. I’m using Intel onboard graphics. Can you guys help solve this issue? Thanks a lot!
  20. Hello, these are 3 issues ive had on my 4790k clover build, since day one, and through many OSs, and I have never found a solution to any of them. Here are the issues: 1) My Ram has always shown as under-clocked. I have 1866 speed Ram, but it has ALWAYS shown as 1777 speed in the Mac install (ive been through yosemite, cap, and now sierra, have updated clover every now and then etc, same issue). The bios and the windows install both see correct speed. 2) Bios sees the Mac install as several duplicated devices (ie, if I go to bios to choose boot device, or i press f8 on boot for boot menu, it shows "mac os 256gb ssd etc" like 10 times in the list. Eventually, the list grows to a point where it will no longer boot until I clear CMOS and get it back down to being listed once, about every other month. 3) Shutdown speed has always been extremely slow. I have an SSD, and even when the install is clean and new, this issue exists. It takes about 45 seconds or more to shutdown (bootup is still fast, about 10 seconds). This is very annoying, it should take about 3 seconds to shutdown. Please help me with these, guys. Thanks My hardware is: 4790k CPU, Asus z97 Pro Wifi AC mobo, 16gb of 1866 ram, samsung SSD, 980ti, using clover on uefi
  21. Alright, so I've been able to find guides for laptops similar to mine, but none that are PRECISELY for the Lenovo Thinkpad T440. Not the S model, but just the T440. I manged to pick this laptop up for a sweet deal on eBay, and i'd like to run MacOS on it if possible. Would it be fine to try a VM then try installing for real later? I have Windows 10 with a key already installed MBR/CSM Style and would like to keep it on here, if at all possible, but I could wipe it if necessary to do a UEFI boot. I initially wanted to try Sierra, but it seems Sierra is relatively undocumented for any similar thinkpad. My specs are as follows: Intel Core i5-4200U @ 1.6GHz, turbo boosts up to 2.3 Ghz 4GB Ram (going to another 4gb dimm) 500GB HDD (will eventually add a m.2 ssd later for macOS if it can be installed Thats about all the important specs, I think. If theres anything else necessary, I'd be glad to list it. (: I did manage to make an installer and boot it Legacy style into Sierra but the trackpad and keyboard didn't respond. It also took awhile to get to the installer. Is there a way I can Install to a USB or something to test it, or is a VM the best way to go about it for a test run? Thanks. Sorry for rambling.
  22. Hey all, I recently just finished my first ever Hackintosh build and am extremely happy with it apart from one major issue.. The specs: Intel Core Skylake Processor i5-6500 Gigabyte H170N-WI-FI Motherboard Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16 GB Kit (8 GB x 2) DDR4 2400 Corsair 550W CS550M Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB Broadcom BCM94352Z DW1560 Wireless-AC 867M WiFi Bluetooth 4.0 NGFF M.2 Card (being shipped) OSX El Capitan (not sierra) NOTE: I'm using integrated GFX as I don't want to spend anymore just yet on a GPU but maybe in the near future! I followed ammulder's guide on installing El Capitan and everything is working apart from my Display Ports. I have a HDMI plugged in (top HDMI port on mobo) and works fine it's just when I have my other monitor hooked up using either the other HDMI provided or DVI port I get a complete blank display and my other monitor is still working as normal. I tried other guides, few different tweaks and even hotplugging but that doesn't seem to work. I also tried taking the HDMI out of the working port and inserting it into another HDMI or DVI and that doesn't seem to work either. Please help me as I would highly appreciate it and would love to be using this amazing build with 2 monitors instead of 1. Regards, Emphasising

  24. Hi everyone, I have 3 working OS X's on my ASUS Z10PE-D8 WS Dual Xeon build. That is: ElCapitan & Sierra (both working flawlessly apart from audio, but HDA works, so thats fine) and now recently I installed Yosemite (bit laggy and sometimes hangs during boot with an IOUSBFamily error of BUS 14 already in use??). All three work with Clover however, which is great as they're all on a single drive. The reason I installed Yosemite is because I bought a fusionIO card, for which the driver support stopped at Yosemite. In ElCapitan I get unresolved symbols/dependencies errors and the driver wouldn't load. I (and even SanDisk themselves) don't know if they will be supporting ElCapitan and later OS's, which is annoying. I know source code is available from SanDisk but I am not sure how much the source code needs changing before it can be recompiled for the 15.0 Darwin/XNU Kernel if this is at all possible? I am by no means a rootkit developer, so I wouldn't know if this is even a feasible route/starting point? If this is somehow possible it would mean I can ditch Yosemite again, which would be great as it runs laggy and Ethernet seems to be recognised but doesn't connect with self-assigned IP, so would be better if I could make it work on my smooth OS's (i.e. ElCapitan and later). If the above is too complicated or not possible at all without putting in some serious work and having an advanced techy brain...Is there a way to make it work on Yosemite? Do I need to come up with a custom injector kext and use FakePCIID to get the card recognised properly? Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks guys! And thanks for this great Forum!
