  1. This is my installation guide for OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. I will try to improve my guide all the time. If anyone has a suggestion, I will add it. Warning: I'm not responsible for any damage or problems to your system, lost of data and any other issues. Be sure to have a backup of important parts of your system! (BIOS-rom(s), drivers, files, etc.) I have tested most HW-parts on temperatures, (fault/warning) messages, etc. and believed this setup is safe to use. However their could be parts on your setup that don't work (properly) for you. Download the latest Clover zip 2. Open Disk Utility and plugin the USB-sick that you want to use for Clover. 3. Format the USB-stick as follow: 4. Exit Disk Utility 5. Unzip Clover_v*.zip and run the Clover_v*.pkg file 6. Choose Clover USB-stick as Installation Target and select the following Installation options: 7. Open the created Clover USB-stick 8. Delete the files BOOTIA32.efi & CLOVERIA32.efi inside the BOOT and CLOVER directories. 9. Place the kext FakeSMC.kext (From HWSensors) and NullCPUPowerManagement.kext inside the Clover USB kexts/10.8 folder. You have now created a bootable Clover (UEFI) USB! OS X Installation BIOS Settings: - Disabled USB 3.0 Controller (also legacy-mode) - Disabled PATA/Serial/LPT-ports - Disabled EPU Power Saving - Enable (no auto!) all available CPU State Reporting (C1E, C3, C6, etc.) 1. Boot in the target system with both the OS X Installation Media and the Clover USB-stick plugged, hit F8-key for BIOS-Menu, choose UEFI: *Clover USB Drive Name* Select Mac OS X Base System (or whatever you could your OS X Installation medium) and hit Enter. Your system should be booted in a few minutes and show you the Installation Welcome screen. Select your language and open up Disk Utility. Select the target drive, click Partition-tab and select GPT-schema under Options. Make one or more partitions (what your desire) and click on Apply. Exit Disk Utility and follow the rest of the OS X Installation. After installation, try to boot the new created OS X-partition with the Clover-USB. If this all worked, congratulations! You just installed OS X! OS X Extra's DSDT It is recommended to create your own DSDT.aml file. There are two ways to get your DSDT: Inside OS X or with a Live (Ubuntu) Linux Installation USB-stick (recommended). See the following howto for Ubuntu (It's recommended to also boot the USB in UEFI-mode). When you have your DSDT.dsl file open it inside OS X with DSDT Editor. Apply Fix.txt (Menu > Patch > Open), choose IASL and click on Compile. To fix the following warnings: ResourceTag Larger than Field (Tag: 64 bits, Field 32 bits), change CreateDWordField to CreateQWordField in that line. Not all control paths return a value (_HID): Method (_HID, 0, NotSerialized) // _HID: Hardware ID { If (TCMF) {} Else { Return (0x0201D824) } } Return (Zero) // add this Compile again and save the generated DSDT-file as DSDT.aml on your desktop (IASL > Save AML As) Note: I added my latest patched DSDT.dsl that includes many other fixes like nVidia injection (No more GE=Yes), RTC fix, ALC892 (HDEF) edit, etc. Patch IntelCPUPM There are two ways to get AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement to work (needed for speedstep). One way is to patch it with this script or by patching your BIOS. Clover includes already a patch for AppleCPUPM, so if you are going to use Clover as your default bootloader this should not be needed anymore. I have patched my BIOS so I never have to worry about IntelCPUPM. Please keep in mind patching is risky, so please be warned! HWSensors (FakeSMC) Run HWSensors.pkg and install it on the OS X Installation drive. You can select all plugins btw. Realtek (Ethernet) See instructions here Clover Bootloader If everything is working, you can install Clover as your default bootloader. Just run the Clover setup again, select the OS X partition and the following Installation Options: - To install Clover as bootable-option (needed for ASUS-boards) format an USB-stick inside Windows with a FAT32-filesystem - Download this Shell.efi file and place it into the root of the USB-stick as Shellx64.efi - Reboot your system, and enter the BIOS-settings screen - Go to Advanced Settings > Exit > Launch EFI-shell from filesystem - The EFI-shell should now automatically load. - Run the following commands from the EFI-shell (# ... # are just comments): > map fs* #choose the correct disk where OS X is installed# > fs1: #for me it's fs1# > cd \EFI\CLOVER #change to the \EFI\CLOVER directory on the EFI-partition, if you can't cd, you have the wrong fs*:# > bcfg boot dump #list current boot-menu settings# > bcfg boot add 0 CLOVERX64.efi "OS X" #add Clover as a boot-option# > bcfg boot dump #list the changed made to the boot settings# > reset #restart system# That's it, you can now boot into Clover by selecting OS X in the BIOS-menu without the USB-stick. I recommend to change config.plist on the EFI-partition, these are my (working) settings: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>KernelAndKextPatches</key> <dict> <key>Debug</key> <false/> <key>KernelCpu</key> <false/> <key>AsusAICPUPM</key> <true/> <key>AppleRTC</key> <true/> <key>KextsToPatch</key> <array> <dict> <key>Name</key> <string>AppleAHCIPort</string> <key>Comment</key> <string>External icons patch</string> <key>Find</key> <data>RXh0ZXJuYWw=</data> <key>Replace</key> <data>SW50ZXJuYWw=</data> </dict> <dict> <key>Name</key> <string>AppleTyMCEDriver</string> <key>Comment</key> <string>AppleTyMCEDriver patch</string> <key>Find</key> <data>cgoATWFjUHJvNCwxAE1hY1BybzUsMQBY</data> <key>Replace</key> <data>cgoAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABY</data> </dict> <dict> <key>Name</key> <string>IOAHCIBlockStorage</string> <key>Comment</key> <string>TRIM enable patch</string> <key>Find</key> <data>QVBQTEUgU1NE</data> <key>Replace</key> <data>AAAAAAAAAAAA</data> </dict> </array> </dict> <key>ACPI</key> <dict> <key>DsdtName</key> <string>DSDT.aml</string> <key>DropOemSSDT</key> <true/> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <true/> <key>GeneratePStates</key> <true/> <key>DropAPIC</key> <false/> <key>DropMCFG</key> <true/> <key>DropHPET</key> <false/> <key>DropECDT</key> <false/> <key>DropDMAR</key> <true/> <key>DropBGRT</key> <true/> <key>ResetAddress</key> <string>0xCF9</string> <key>ResetValue</key> <string>0x06</string> </dict> <key>SMBIOS</key> <dict> <key>ProductName</key> <string>MacPro4,1</string> </dict> <key>RtVariables</key> <dict> <key>MountEFI</key> <true/> <key>LogLineCount</key> <integer>3000</integer> <key>LogEveryBoot</key> <false/> </dict> <key>GUI</key> <dict> <key>Theme</key> <string>bluemac</string> <key>Timeout</key> <integer>2</integer> <key>DefaultBootVolume</key> <string>Macintosh HD</string> <key>DebugLog</key> <false/> <key>Mouse</key> <dict> <key>Enabled</key> <false/> <key>Speed</key> <integer>0</integer> </dict> <key>Volumes</key> <dict> <key>Legacy</key> <false/> </dict> <key>HideEntries</key> <dict> <key>OSXInstall</key> <false/> <key>Recovery</key> <false/> <key>Duplicate</key> <false/> <key>WindowsEFI</key> <false/> <key>Grub</key> <false/> <key>Gentoo</key> <false/> <key>Ubuntu</key> <false/> <key>OpticalUEFI</key> <false/> <key>InternalUEFI</key> <true/> <key>ExternalUEFI</key> <false/> </dict> </dict> <key>PCI</key> <dict> <key>LpcTune</key> <true/> <key>HDAInjection</key> <string>892</string> <key>USBInjection</key> <true/> <key>InjectClockID</key> <true/> <key>USBFixOwnership</key> <true/> </dict> <key>SystemParameters</key> <dict> <key>boot-args</key> <string>-v npci=0x2000 slide=0 nvda_drv=1 WithKexts</string> <key>prev-lang:kbd</key> <string>nl:0</string> <key>InjectSystemID</key> <true/> <key>LegacyBoot</key> <string>PBR</string> </dict> <key>Graphics</key> <dict> <key>GraphicsInjector</key> <false/> <key>PatchVBios</key> <true/> </dict> </dict> </plist> Fix_beta990.txt DSDT.dsl.zip config.plist.zip AppleHDA.kext.zip

Hi Guys, I spent a good part of my time reading the info and tips here in the forum and I'm really confused right know. I'm a newbie and I think it will take a wile until I fully understand the hackintosh process. I need a dual boot with win7 and MacOs. So , I have several questions... Which bootloader should I use for the motherboard I'm using; Or which DSDT should I install after; If all my peripheralls are going to work and which erros should I espect; If my graphic card will be fully functional, with dual monitor and Cuda Mercury Engine for CS6 and DaVinci; Will the system be more stable with Lion or Snow Leopard? In my Mac Pro I choosed not to upload to Lion; Would you recomend any specific method taking in consideration the components I'm using? Thx Marta

    [Problem] Lenovo x121e Battery

Hello, I've got installed El Capitan on my Lenovo x121e. It's working, but not perfectly. I have the following problems: - there is no battery status available EDIT: now working thanks to artur_pt - there are some artifacts from the Intel HD 3000 EDIT: fixed with slide=0 TODO - the trackpad buttons aren't working (show no reaction in El Capitan) - HDMI audio, VGA output and normal audio aren't working - after sleep mouse touchpad not working Is there a way to get at least the battery status working? The other things aren't really important (but nice to have). System Information: -Intel Core i3-2357M @ 1.3GHz -8 GB DDR3 RAM -Intel HD Graphics 3000 -120GB SSD I've also added the unchanged DSDT to this post. Maybe anyone can help me. Thanks Jonas System DSDT.aml.zip

    Asus F550CC-XX382H DSDT

Grazie in anticipo CLOVER + DSDT.zip
  6. Say I have TWO .aml files in EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched -- dsdt1.aml and dsdt2.aml. I want to compare how they affect my machine. Now, I wanted to try NOT loading either of them. So in config.plist I set 'DSDT Name' set to null, i.e., there is no value. But checking bdmesg it shows Inserting dsdt1.aml from EFI\CLOVER\ACPI\patched ... Success Inserting dsdt2.aml from EFI\CLOVER\ACPI\patched ... Success Does "Inserting" mean they were loaded? Or just recognized? Did BOTH of them get loaded? Do they have to be called DSDT or is that arbitary? Do I need to actually remove them from ACPI/patched in order to NOT load them? I'd like to be able to choose a DSDT, or none, from within Clover at boot. I'm hesitant to remove them because if one option prevents me from booting MacOS, then I'm SOL because putting it back will be a PITA. Can I put them in a different folder and still load one from Clover options? Thanks!
  8. Hey folks, I'm really really fresh at the place and please let me begin by saying how amazed I am to see the number of people who is willing to help. I've lookep some information for this issue but either the question is too dumb or too specific, so I couldn't find anything. I think I've tinkered enough with my computer by trying to install hackintosh, I'm now going to install it to my real hard drive. I am using an Acer Aspire 5755G and I saw that some users already have installed Mavericks to their systems and wrote some neat guides for installation. On some point of the guides, it is being said that in order for WiFi to work, it requires DSDT to be extracted. The system I'm currently using (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS) is installed on legacy bios mode, but I've flashed a modded bios and it is now possible to install an uefi system (and I've already tested that it is working in uefi mode). Phew, what an entry. My actual question is: Can I use a DSDT which has been extracted in legacy bios mode, in uefi mode? Does it matter at all? If it does matter, I'll have to actually install an uefi system (e.g. ubuntu) and extract it, since for some reason, dsdt extractor does not seem to be working in live environment.
  9. I use a dsdt.aml file to drive my graphics card on OSX 10.7.0. But this DSDT deosn't work on mountain lion.I've tried many method. But all of them failed. Method 1: put the old dsdt.aml in /Extra/------Chameleon -v start up,stuck at "PCI Configuration Begin" Method 2:use nvcap maker 1.4 to get the nvcap of my graphics card from the rom file, and use the OSX86 tools to generate the EFI-String,then add it to Chameleon.------get the right information about the graphics card in system report, but the resolution can not be changed, QE-CI didn't work, check the system report and I found NVDANV50Hal.kext NVResman.kext were not loaded Method 3:add hardware ID into NVDANV50Hal.kext info.plist------black screen on system startup Method 4:put the old dsdt.aml in /Extra/+add hardware ID into NVDANV50Hal.kext info.plist-----black screen again Method 5:add EFI-String+add hardware ID into NVDANV50Hal.kext info.plist-----the resolution can be changed, but QE-CI didn't work Method 6: I've got a IOPCIFamily.kext from another forum, put this kext in /Extra/Extensions helps with the "PCI Configuration Begin" problem. So I put it in /Extra/Extensions,then put the old dsdt.aml in /Extra.----the information about the graphics card was ok,the pci-slot information was also detected(in method 2 and 5,the pci---slot infromation was not displayed),but but the resolution can not be changed, QE-CI didn't work, check the system report and I found NVDANV50Hal.kext NVResman.kext were not loaded. So after this I add hardware ID into NVDANV50Hal.kext info.plist again, unfortunately, black screen again. 13. Hello. I've just installed OS X 10.11.3 El Capitan on my Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series laptop. I extracted the DSDT using Clover twice and both gave me the same compilation error. I have provided the second attempt at extracting the DSDT in this post. I have tried using MaciASL on my functional Yosemite hackintosh and the laptop itself. In all MaciASLs I've been using ACPI 5.0 and got the following errors: ERRORS 11851, 6126, syntax error, unexpected '}' 21545, 6126, syntax error, unexpected $end and premature End-Of-File RehabMan's laptop patch repository does not have fixes for these patches, and I've tried messing about with the lines and stuff but I have little DSDT editing experience and really didn't know what I was doing. No patches have been applied to the files provided. If I could be told how to fix these issues, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. DSDT.zip
  14. Hi Everybody!! After messing around with many linux Distros, i've recently been attracted from the OS X, and wanted to get it working on my notebook. After many tries, following lot of different guides (non3 of them completely working to say the truth), I finally managed to install Lion 1.7.2 on my fresh Acer M3. The point of this Thread is help someone elsa with my hardware to accomplish this goal and, hopefully, get some help to make things works better (well, in some cases, just make them work would be enaugh :wink2:) see signature for complete hardware specs, anyway these are the main characteristics: Acer Mother board model MA50_HX (Bios: Insyde corp v1.08) Core i3-2377M Built-in HD3000 + nVidia Optimus discreete card nVidia GT640M Atheros AR9462 + NetLink BCM57780 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe Standard PS\2 built-in Keyboard + Elan PS\2 Port Smart Pad I've to say that I'm quite good at linux, but completely new to OSX so I'm just starting to understand Kext, smbios and so on... What i've used: 8gb USB stick iAtkos L2 dmg Chimera BootLoader (without this, touchpad isn't recognized during installation) Now that's what I've done: Downloaded iAtkos L2 dmg Installed it on VMWare (just to have a functional OSX for partitioning, restoring images etc), followed that guide that works really stright forward http://ilpico.it/wordpress/?p=2642 (It's in Italian, anyway if someone needs it I can traduce it) From Lion VMWare (or another working Mac OS), mounted the 8gb usb stick Entered Disk Utility, select the USB Stick, in "Partition" tab, selected 2 partition from the dropdown menu (i've used GUID partition table) Selected the first partition and changed size to something like 300-500MB, named it "boot" Selected the second partition and named it "iatkos" Partitioned the usb stick with this partition scheme. mounted iAtkosL2.dmg image in disk utility clicked on the mounted iatkosL2 image, and the in the expanded image Selected restore tab, dragged the expanded iatkosL2 image from the left inside the "source" field, dragged the "iatkos" partition inside the destination field. Proceeded to restore During the restore process, downloaded latest chimera bootloader pkg (i've used Version 1.9.2) When Restore process was complete (about 15-25min), opened the chimera pkg and then doble clicked the installer Proceeded througt the installation and changed the install destination to "boot" partition on my USB Stick When installation finishes, unmount partitions and rebooted At start up, selected the usb stick from boot menu In chimera boot loader, booted the iatkos image with -v GraphicsEnabler=No (otherwise the system tries to use the nVidia Card and cannot boot) Using chimera, when install screen arrives, touch pad was working, so proceeded trought the installation, initialized the partition i've wanted to use (i've used the whole 20GB SSD), selected only PS/2 Kext for making also the kayboard working. Also selected both Atheros driver but didnt' make my wifi card work. After install, booted in arch linux to remove every AppleIntelHD* and AppleIntelSNB* kext, otherwise boot hangs, even with GraphicsEnabler=No rebooted installation processes only for fixing permission trought disk utility Powered off and booted from SSD with GraphicsEnabler=No, this time i was able to reach the mail screen!! entered sytem setting -> chimera bootloader (or maybe it's called chameleon inside the system setting menu', dont remember right now), changed resolution to 1366x768x32, checked the "GraphicsEnabler=No" as boot option That's all, right now didnt apply any extra kext or smbios or dsdt. Now, that's wht's not workig, hoping some one can give me some good tips! - NETWORK: nor Atheros AR9462 nor NetLink BCM57780 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe get detected. Simply no network interface. (En0 not present). Any suggestion here?? I think for the atheros there isnt much we can do, but i think should be possibile to make the ethernet work! - GRAPHICS: Intel HD3000 is recognized as "built in graphics", with only 64MB of memory and no specific Kext used for it. How can I use the intel HD3000 kext and graphicsenabler=yes without having the system tryng to use the nVidia card??? Maybe romoving nVidia Kext and placing back intel HD and Intel SNB??? - INPUT: Keyboard it's ok, touch pad works with basic function (no gesture at all). anyway if I go in system settings -> touchpad, there's no device listed Anyone can suggest some fix for those problems? Should I fix my dsdt (if yes.... HOW??), should I use a smbios different from the stok one inside iAtkos (MacPro3,1)??? Hope this post will be usefull to anyone with this hardware configuration, and hope some good soul will help me fix these issues! Thank you in advance! PES

VALEU.

    Autosleep won't work!

Hi, folks! Since i started using a three-graphics-card setup (two discrete GeForces and the Intel HD4000 as primary card) i cannot make this feature to work, despite it's been previously working when using only the GeForce 9800 GT (connected via DVI). I thought things would normalize after i enabled proper Ivy Bridge Power management with a custom SSDT generated by Pike's script, but it's not happening. OSX 10.8.3 installed, i5 3570K CPU and H77-DS3H motherboard. Custom DSDT for native USB 3.0, HDMI audio and the three-graphics-card setup. Both Clover UEFI and Chameleon 2.2 installed. The funniest thing is that automatic sleep works flawlessly with my AMD rig with a common 32-bit SleepEnabler.kext (but that machine runs 10.7.5). Any help or directions to an actual solution (not a workaround like PleaseSleep.app, which would only mask a possible setup error, and it's not working anyway) would be much appreciated. All the best!
  17. Hello people, I am quite new to all the Hackintosh stuff, I managed to get my laptop nicely working except one thing, the sound card which is an ALC269, ATM i use VoodooHDA just to get some sound but it stutters and the solution to the stutter is just a pure cpu hog (good old yes > /dev/null) I saved my DSDT using AIDA64 but it generates a lot of errors on compiling even without any modifications. I would be really happy if someone here could clean up the DSDT for me so I can apply the HDEF patch. Here is the DSDT attached. Thanks in advance, WhistlR dsdt.aml.zip

I got another problem after the second installation was the audio, the first time worked great, gave me a horrible second beep every loa speakers. without requiring any extra information or upload a file dsdt etc, I will be attentive to your responses. thank you very much for your attention, fraternal greetings from Venezuela.

  20. Hello all, I'm having some trouble trying to get sleep working on my laptop. The symptoms are as if there is no power management; upon attempting to sleep, the display will turn off but the laptop otherwise remains on. I have everything else working, including power management/speed stepping so I suspect its just DSDT issues from here (or I'm just forgetting something really key...). Ioreg (2.1) and DSDT are zipped and attached. Thanks! Archive.zip

    Help patch for my DSDT

Hi, someone could help me with this dsdt? Can I disable discrete GPU (ATi HD 540v)? Thanks! 6550b dsdt.zip
Grazie a tutti , Sklo
  24. Hi all, I have a Dell Optiplex 780 Desktop that I turned into a Hackintosh. Everything is okay so far, other then a few things; I cannot buy a Wifi adapter at this point in time because my router is far away from my Hackintosh and long range adapters are very expensive, far more then I want to spend. I have a MGM Electronics WiFi USB (Part number 831-3397) laying around, is it compatible with macOS Sierra? It worked on Windows 7 when it was installed. I also created my installer with a universal beast that is titled 7.0.1, and the Clover version is 3766. I have a bunch of kexts and configs that do not work well with the latest version on Clover, and when booting, sends me into a kernel panic. Is there anyway I can install 3766 to my HDD, or do I have to use a new set of configs? I used this setup: CLOVER.zip Can someone help me install Clover to my hard drive and have these files work for it? Thank you all so much in advance

    Asus G73H

I am trying to get HDMI audio working on my ATI 5870M with ALC269 Audio. I am having no luck at all. I am including everything that might help for someone to figure it out. I tried to look it up but the good forum post about the G73 is deleted. I have not found anyone who claimed to have it working.
