  4. Hello, My desktop Hackintosh is running macOS Mojave 10.14.2 with two dedicated GPUs installed: NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti, AMD Radeon HD 7970. The AMD GPU is used primarily under macOS and the NVIDIA one under Windows. macOS boots without issues as long as there are no displays connected to the NVIDIA GPU. If a display is connected then the display connected to the AMD GPU will become blank. The system can be accessed using Screen Sharing/VNC. There are no problems if I swap PCI-e slots for the GPUs so that the AMD GPU is in the first slot (primary GPU), but I prefer not to do this. I have tried to remove the whole PCI (bridge) device in the DSDT file and all the lines that refer to it. The PCI entries in ioreg and System Information are gone but System Information still shows an NVIDIA GPU under Graphics/Display. Many of the suggestions I have found in guides and forum posts do not seem to apply here. My problem with some of the guides and answers is that they give the solution without explaining how anything works, or they tell you what to do without explaining the reasons behind it. What else can I do? Thank you for any assistance you can provide! I have attached some files that may help you help me. DSDT_BIOS_3101.zip contains the original ACPI (*.aml) files without any patches. Send me Steffens-iMac.zip is a file produced by RunMe.app, and do contain simple patches to rename some devices. DSDT.dsl.patch is a diff of the original DSDT.dsl file and the one with the PCI devices removed (commented out). 7. Hey guys I'm new here and hoping someone can help... I just successfully built my first hackintosh and at this point there is only the USB 3.0 problem that is keeping my new build from being fully (or as near as I need it) functional. Well actually it would be kinda nice to get onboard audio working, but that is less important. I used the infamous automated tools from a well known website to get to where I am now. I have read a little, but I still have no idea how to build DSDT or SSDT or what the difference/relationship between them is. I built a Gigabte Z370 Gaming 7 (F7 firmware) with I7-8700k and GTX 1080. At present I cannot seem to connect external storage to any of the USB 3.0 ports. I'm hoping there's a smart and generous soul out there who can help me out. Thanks
  8. Update: Now running Mojave! Thanks to mojave2core! Yeah Still using C2D in 2019! Inserted a nice and cheap GT710 that is not relying on nVidias Webdrivers and runs OOB under Mojave. Nice, seeing High Sierra running on this old but capable system! It rocks with a new ASUS GT1030 Config: Gigabyte EP43-DS3L Core2Quad Q9300 6 GB DDR2 RAM Asus GT1030 2GB Sandisk SSD 128GB TP-Link AC1200 Wifi USB Inateck KT4006 USB 3.0 PCIe (No boot) SMBIOS: iMac14,1 Clover: 4297 4360 A good deal of DSDT editing was necessary to get this machine to boot High Sierra but finally it works flawlessly, even sleep and wake! You NEED to have the DSDT put in place for installation because otherwise macOS doesn't recognize the SATA ports. There are a few important BIOS settings: SATA hast to be set to AHCI and "native" and HPET has to be run "64-bit", I'd recommend to disable IDE and the serial and parallel port. For the GT1030 nVidia Webdrivers are needed, have to boot with nv_disable=1 until you have them installed. You have to install Clover in legacy mode because this old fella does not support UEFI. Only downside: The so often recommended Inateck USB-card isn't recognized by BIOS, so you cannot boot from it. It works perfectly within macOS though, have the ac-Wifi connected to it. config.plist.zip DSDT.aml.zip
  9. Please help with DSDT patch for Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 with i7 6700k. This is my first hackintosh build and have done a lot of research/reading the last several days. I went with what is supposed to be a vanilla install of High Sierra. This was after trying to install Mojave and then realizing my video card doesn't have Nvidia web drivers for it. Probably installed High Sierra 6 or so times trying to get it right. Still don't have HDMI audio working, but have a DP2HDMI adapter coming in the mail. As I understand, that is supposed to fix it. My motherboard audio doesn't work right either. The digital output works as well as the line out, but the headphone port does not. I don't know about the other sound ports My usb 3.1 port doesn't work when waking from sleep. I am sure there are other issues that I haven't found/don't know about yet. Attached is my runme app files. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks! I have a dual-boot (Win/Mac) machine on a Z370 Aorus 7. Since there's no nvidia drivers for Mojave atm, I want to stick with the iGPU under Mac, but still use the 1080 Ti under Win. The hack boots just fine when I remove the 1080 Ti, if it's plugged in via PCIe I get a kernel panic. Please find attached my ACPI folder, my clover config.plist and the kernel panic details. Might there even be a less hacky way than patching these ACPI files? I appreciate any kind of support! Thanks! ACPI.zip config.plist systemReport.txt

  15. With the purpose of running the beloved Apple Mac OS X on our Intel ASUS laptop I am writing this guide to share my experience and knowledge about this Hackintosh. This tutorial applies to running versions between 10.9 and 10.11.6, focusing specially in El Capitan. This method applies also for Sierra but at the moment my WiFi Card doesn't work well with 10.12 so I chose to remain in a stable Mac OS X I have 99% functionality: What Works : WiFi, Bluetooth, Airdrop, HandOff, FindMyMac (WiFi card has to be replaced, I put a BCM94352HMB) Full QE/CI acceleration with integrated HD4400 graphics Trackpad with 1finger, 2finger, 3finger and 4finger gestures Keyboard (Perfect with Volume, Brightness, Play/Pause, Numpad working) Battery Percentage Sleep, Shutdown and Reboot Internal Speakers, Internal Microphone, Headphone Jack, HDMI audio DVD Drive HDMI audio and video VGA out iMessage and FaceTime Recovery Partition What is not working Internal SD Card Reader When you install Clover Bootloader to your USB media or HDD you should select the following options: - Install for UEFI booting only - Install Clover in the ESP - Drivers64UEFI (Fat-64, OSxAptioFix2Drv) After installation is complete, the EFI partition we want to configure will already be mounted, so we proceed to open it and do the following Install HFSPlus.efi and NTFS.efi in drivers64UEFI folder and remove VboxHFS.efi Open the folder /EFI/Clover/kexts and delete all the folders starting by 10 and leave only the “other” folder In the above mentioned “other” folder place the kexts that I will quote next, please note that the kexts marked in red are the absolute necessary ones for booting Mac OS X installer , the rest should only be installed afterwards, after having Mac OS X installed to your hard drive and directly to /System/Library/Extensions : ACPIBatteryManager.kext AppleALC.kext ApplePS2SmartTouchpad.kext BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext BrcmPatchRAM (Mavericks) or BrcmPatchRAM2 (Yosemite or later) CodecCommander.kext DisableTurboBoostBattery.kext FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext (Only for El Capitan) FakePCIID_IntelHDMIaudio.kext FakePCIID_BroadcomWiFI.kext (makes my BCM94352HMB work) FakePCIID_IntelHDGraphics.kext FakePCIID.kext FakeSMC, HWInfo, IntelCPUMonitor (HwSensors3 from Slice) IntelBacklight.kext RealtekRTL8111.kext USBInjectAll.kext (Only for El Capitan) After all the kexts necessary are in the correct folder, proceed to mimic my config.plist Note that the Kext patches included only work for El Capitan. If you want older version support, post here and I can help. I recommend using Clover Configurator App config.plist.zip For your SMBIOS choose MacbookPro11,2 and shake those serial numbers to really get a genuine one. In order to get everything working properly , follow these guidelines for ACPI tables patching. Firstly, press F4 at Clover GUI in order to dump the native ACPI tables. You will most probably get a crash, a red screen full of weird black numbers and strange symbols, do not worry, just force shutdown. At the next boot if you look in /EFI/Clover/ACPI/origin in your USB you should have a bunch of files. After getting MaciASL and acpica tools from RehabMan (always updated) and installing them, and adding rehabman’s laptop dsdt patch repository, which is this: https://github.com/R...ptop-DSDT-Patch I recommend patching these tables before installing Mac OS X in order to have a better user experience and better functionality as well as a cleaner and smoother install. Your computer may not even reach the installer since we have no way of disabling our discrete NVIDIA Geforce 820m without getting our hands dirty in DSDT patches. Delete all files that don’t start with DSDT or SSDT- If you have an SSDT with an x just delete it because it is dynamically loaded and so does not need our attention. Place the files in our interest in a folder and: cd /path/to/a/folder iasl -da -dl *.aml After obtaining the .dsl files you should open them and check for errors. In the latest BIOS we have the following errors: DSDT- We will find 4 errors The parse op Zero errors can be fixed by deleting all the “Zero” you find in the conflicting place The remaining two errors are fixed by applying the ADBG fix from RehabMan repo SSDT-1- We find many errors and all can be fixed by applying the patch “Remove _PSS placeholders” SSDT-12- We find an error related to a specific sector of a cryptic DOS device, we can safely delete these following lines from the SSDT Now that all our ACPI tables are nice and clean we can proceed to patching First of all, open all the tables at the same time and hit Command + F to bring up the Find Replace dialog box and Find:GFX0 and Replace it with: IGPU Find:B0D3 and Replace it with HDAU Do this in all the tables, so the renames are the same in all your tables When that is done, apply the following patches to the DSDT: Use the patch "DTGP" (you can easily find it with our friend Google ) Use the patch "Fix _WAK Arg0 v2" Use the patch "HPET Fix" Use the patch "SMBUS Fix" Use the patch "IRQ Fix" Use the patch "RTC Fix" Use the patch "OS Check Fix Windows 8” Use the patch "Add IMEI" Use the patch “7-8 Series USB” Use the patch "USB PRW 0x0D" Use the patch "Igpu Brightness Fix" Use the patch "Audio Layout id 3" When you have applied the Audio Layout Patch just Find: layout and it should show the only result, then make that part look like mine, so that you can use AppleALC for native on the fly audio If you want HDMI audio you should open SSDT-10 and find layout again and make it look like the one you just edited in DSDT, we do this because we want layout-id 29 instead of layout-id 3 For battery percentage you should use the ASUS N55SL/Vivobook patch Finally when you did all that you should follow RehabMan’s tutorial for Disabling Discrete Graphics Cards, on a web which I am not allowed to mention. This will give you much more battery life and a lot less heat. You should read it properly and you will notice there is close to no difference between his example and our laptop so it will be easier than it looks like. Make sure you also use the patch he posts to fix shutdown and sleep when our NVIDIA is disabled. After all the ACPI tables are properly patched save them all and cd /path/to/where/your/patched/tables/are Then delete all the original aml files And then iasl *.dsl After getting the resulting patched aml files, place them in /EFI/Clover/ACPI/patched for Clover to load it Place them all together in /EFI/Clover/ACPI/patched and in the ACPI section of your config.plist make sure to "Drop OEM" tables and set the "Sorted Order" as I did in the attached config.plist. Before installing Mac OS X make sure in your BIOS you have legacy mode disabled and you have secure boot and fast boot also disabled, so that Clover works well. Also make sure the controller is set to AHCI mode. Remember to use a GUID partition table on your Hard Drive and if you plan to dual boot just create two Mac OS Extended Journaled partitions, don't create any Fat partition using Disk Utility cause that will leave you unable to install Windows in UEFI mode. Post-Install Finally you will need to generate an SSDT using ssdtPRGen.sh (this can only be done when you have installed Mac OS X) https://github.com/P...ha/ssdtPRGen.sh Add it to the Sorted Order and you are done Make sure to set the hibernate mode to either 0 or 2 . You can copy the colour profiles from ASUS Splendid Utility and use them in Mac OS X, but for my eyes, I prefer the default LCD one This is the first fully functional Hackintosh I ever accomplished and it took me a few months of learning… I am using Mac OS X for about two or more years in this Hack and I am still in love like the very first boot hihihi This is almost the perfect HackBook and has worked since Mountain Lion until now Hope you enjoyed!
  16. Hello, I have a problem with my sound after waking from sleep. While the outputs show up, the sound doesn't actually come out. In addition, pressing the volume up/down keys is laggy. My chipset is the realtek alc889 and my mobo is: EVGA 121-BL-E756-TR I have a custom patched DSDT in which I have changed my AZAL Device to HDEF and have installed a patched AppleHDA.kext (no HDA Enabler, just AppleHDA.kext). Anyway, looking in my console I have a lot of Sound Assertion Errors. Does anyone have any solutions?

    DSDT help

Hey guys, I recently got Mavericks 10.9.5 up and running again, but I'm having issues with my system. I have no USB 2 (USB3 works, oddly), no audio, and wacky GPU issues (only 1 or 2 of my monitors will work out of 3). I have no idea what to do now, I'm out of my depth. Can someone please take a look at my extracted DSDT and my IOReg please, and help me get it edited? Here are my specs: Motherboard: Asus Rampage IV Extreme (X79, LGA2011 socket) GPUs: 2x EVGA GTX 780s RAM: 64GB G.Skill Ripjaws @1333MHz CPU: Intel Core i7 4960x (Ivy Bridge E) Any details needed? PM me. I am also using a MacPro6,1 SMBIOS, just for the record. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. The forum won't allow me to upload my IOReg and DSDT so they are posted at the links below: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bi3f2lj8tnwsed5/Logan%E2%80%99s%20Mac%20Pro.ioreg?dl=0 (IOReg) https://www.dropbox.com/s/i5j0y755jbjr4th/System%20DSDT.aml?dl=0 (extracted DSDT that needs editing)
  20. Hi guys! Im posting this because there's something really wrong with sleep in el capitan... I had a very nice install of Mavericks, with everything working, including sleep.. I have made a new fresh install of EL Capitan, and while performance is pretty much better, i have a big issue. Every time i put the laptop to sleep the screen just goes black, and the lights remain on. There's no instant wake problem, but the onlyway to get out of the black screen state is forcing the shutdown. I've been reading RehabMan's post about 10.11 USB changes and solutions, but i am a bit lost. I have no problem with doing DSDT patching or whatever would be necessary to solve this issue, it's just that there are many alternatives to solve it and I don't wanna mess up the install. Could anyone kindly guide me to what would be the best procedure to follow? My DSDT has been freshly patched, and i followed Rehabmans advice to not use multiplex patch, nor GenericUSBXHCI kext. Anyone would help? Thanks in advance PS: The only USB patch i used for the DSDT was the USB7/8 series patch
  21. Hello! Long story short: a couple of weeks ago I built a custom pc (see signature), installed 10.11.2, fixed a couple of this that weren't working and then updated to 10.11.3. It all went quite smooth (the last hackintosh I built was 6 years ago with iAkintosh or something on a netbook, and things were.. complicated). The system was running all nice and fast without any problem at all, until.. Random reboots started appearing. I didn't installed/change any kext after the usual post-install. It is really all working: iMessage, WiFi, Bluetooth, Nvidia, Sleep/Wake, USB 3, etc. I only get random reboots pretty much everyday (and when it happens, multiple times a day). I investigated the following cases/issues: Bad RAM: maybe.. Maybe yes: memtest always reports different amounts of RAM (rebooted in two occasions), "About this Mac" randomly displays correct memory frequency, sometimes before a kernel panic occurs apps start to crash and can't be reopen (then the system restarts); Maybe no: under heavy memory load the system doesn't reboot, and I game on Windows under heavy load without any problem; Bad power management: maybe too..? Maybe yes: Intel power gadget can't recognize CPU (CPU not supported), original DSDT (F4 on clover boot) have an error I can't resolve; Maybe no: the reboots are random, sleep/wake doesn't increase or decrease them, and I put OS X under heavy load too; Wrong kext/driver: really don't know, didn't installed anything kext-related after the first installation but never say never. I know Skylake is not fully supported but hey, everything was working fine. Also, I can not update clover.. Connection is there but when I click "check now" nothing happens (updated fine before). I tried fixing permissions and rebuild kext cache, nope, keeps rebooting. I made an SSDT with SSDTPRgen and put in clover patched folder, keeps rebooting. At this point I don't have any clue on where to look/patch, so I'm posting here the last 7 panic reports with the hope that someone, somehow will be able to help me, thank you very much, panic 1.rtf panic 2.rtf panic 3.rtf panic 4.rtf panic 5.rtf panic 6.rtf panic 7.rtf
  22. Hello Everyone, I am making my first manual dsdt edits to enable DP and HDMI audio from my Graphics card and I am a little confused. I was able to install the OS X Realtek ALC onboard audio with Clover file and my audio from my motherboard is working fine. I found this pdf with instructions on how to make the edit, but I am unclear exactly which edits to make. https://github.com/toleda/audio_hdmi_guides/blob/master/%5BGuide%5D_Nvidia-hdmi_audio_v2.pdf.zip I am using Mac IASL and a patch I found online for some general edits. Thank you so much for your help in advance.
