  3. Hello, guys! Everybody's fine? I've been trying these days the dsdt way aiming at get rid of the most legacy kexts i can. For a couple of days now, i've been unsuccessfully trying to make AppleHDA load with my ALC 269 so i can stop using VoodooHDA. Tried some methods for AppleHDA patching i learnt here on insanelymac and elsewhere. Tried also a lot of already patched HDAs with and without dsdt edits. Finally, i tried the command line autopatch tool available at this subforum. All of them resulted in absolutely no success. I confess that i couldn't follow one step that now i'm thinking that should be crucial to get the work done: the Linux CodecDump, since i don't use Linux (or Windows, by the way). Could it be indeed the cause of my failure? Is there any alternative around? I'll attach my patched dsdt, so if someone has time and wan't to check it out, maybe helps me in finding something. Thank you very much in advance! DSDT.aml.zip

    Saluti e domanda

  7. hello i used NVenabler in my previous lion installation to get my native screen resolution (1920x1080). then i made a re-install and wanted to use DSDT patching instead to make my card work completely..... i used DSDT Patcher GUI. is it ok to use this software??? will it give me the correct DSDT?? and my mobo's dsdt is not in the database..... then i formatted that install and re-installed lion in the same drive and my DSDT fixes are now applied in my new installation too.... is this supposed to happen??? and how can i know whether my dsdt is 100% sucessful given that DSDT Patcher GUI reported "0 warnings, 0 errors, 0 remarks" and it also said the patch was successful..... also is it ok to replace my dsdt with an newly generated one?? i did that and i was not able to login at all..... how about replacing my DSDT.aml file with that of a similar model.... is it wise??? As for my gfx card (GeForce 210 1GB DDR3), it is now listed correctly in "About This Mac" and gives the correct resolution in display. however i feel the display had "shrunk" a little when compared to same res. in NVEnabler.... somehow to text in top menu and the dock seem to have shortened in width...... i dont know how to explain this better..... i tried EFI string injection for my card and it dint come out well..... plus when i put os x to sleep it does not wake up. before patching DSDT sleep worked correctly.... (even now sleep works if i boot with rBoot but i dont get DSDT functionality...) and if i check the "Restart automatically on system failure" option my oc restarts...... chimera themes do not work anymore ....... i get only the CUI screen........ (chameleon does not boot my installation, will have to use chimera.... and i have meddled with the options)....... sound works perfect but my mic does not work with voodoohda v0.2.1 (i checked the alc887/888b, alc8xxx and voodoohda options)....... with voodoohda version v0.2.2 mic works (but front headphone socket doesnt...) but again mic does not work with speech recognition software..... And how to make the restore button in time machine clickable??? i am not able to click it....... Chameleon/Chimera/rBoot boot screen (whether CUI or GUI) always opens in "1280x1024" resolution which is my on-board card's max resolution....... is there a way to make it appear in "1920x1080"???? i followed one of the guides in the internet named "Unstrech you chameleon bootscreen" which dint work......... An additional query..... when i use rBoot to boot in i get to use win key for command key and alt for option key (which is what i need....) but thru chimera those two get swapped........ i DONT want to change them in keyboard prefs...... is there a way make it that way by default???? i know its a bundle of probs but i am keen on getting my OSx86 working completely.... my specs: Intel Core i5 3.2 GHz ASUS P7H55-M LX nVidia GeForce 210 1GB DDR3 4GB Ram
Hello guys, been a while since my last post in here. I came up with a thought while trying to make my HDMI port on my MSI 6770 1gb while at the same keeping ATI Radeon HD 6770 1024 MB in the about this mac window. Skip to the end if you are in a hurry I found that if I inject my "@0-2" framebuffer names as "Hoolock" in my DSDT per Rampagedev's instruction in http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/282687-radeon-hd-6770-full-qeci-mlmavericksyosemite/page-2?do=findComment&comment=1902721, my card was recognised as 6770 and VGA and DVI worked, but the HDMI didn't. If, on the other hand I, don't fiddle with them in my DSDT, DVI and HDMI works(video only) (i really forgot to test VGA at that point) but in ioreg, the chosen framebuffer would be "ATI_Framebuffer" or something like that. At the same time, in "About this Mac" the card was recognised as ATI Radeon HD 5000 1024 MB. Hold my (that) though. After bumping in this and this tutorials, again by Rampagedev, whom I respect for this guy is tremendously btw, I noticed that Hoolock that it has wrong port types. In detail: Personality: Hoolock ConnectorInfo count in decimal: 3 Disk offset in decimal 166176 0000000 00 04 00 00 04 06 00 00 00 01 00 00 21 03 05 01 // 0x400 means Display Port 0000010 00 04 00 00 04 06 00 00 00 01 00 00 11 02 04 02 // 0x400 means Display Port 0000020 04 00 00 00 14 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 02 04 01 03 // 0x4 means DVI-Dual Link port 0000030 Connector Type LVDS 0x00000002 = 02 00 00 00 Note: Laptop Monitor Connector Type DVIDL 0x00000004 = 04 00 00 00 Note: Dual Link DVI Connector Type VGA 0x00000010 = 10 00 00 00 Connector Type S-V 0x00000080 = 08 00 00 00 Connector Type DP 0x00000400 = 00 04 00 00 Connector Type HDMI 0x00000800 = 00 08 00 00 Connector Type DVISL 0×00000200 = 00 02 00 00 Note: Single Link DVI On the contrary, Vervet had 2 of my connector types correct: Personality: Vervet ConnectorInfo count in decimal: 4 Disk offset in decimal 166224 0000000 00 04 00 00 00 04 00 00 00 71 00 00 12 04 04 02 // 0x400 means Display Port 0000010 04 00 00 00 14 00 00 00 00 71 00 00 01 12 01 04 // 0x4 means DVI-Dual Link port 0000020 00 02 00 00 14 00 00 00 00 71 00 00 00 00 06 03 // 0x200 means DVI-Single Link port 0000030 00 08 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 71 00 00 22 05 05 01 // 0x800 means HDMI 0000040 So I thought hey what the hell, I'll try it ,and to my blame-my-genius type of shock, it finally has worked.Video worked through HDMI and my card had the so crazily desired correct/corrected name. Gonna update the post after I used these chaned Vervet framebuffer and in order to make the 3rd port,by swapping the Single Link DVI, with the working VGA from Baboon. This is how it looks: 0000000 10 00 00 00 10 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 10 00 02 // ex-Displayport, now VGA from Baboon Framebuffer 0000010 00 08 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 71 00 00 22 05 05 01 // ex-DVI-Dual Link, now HDMI 0000020 04 00 00 00 14 00 00 00 00 71 00 00 01 12 01 04 // ex-Single Link, now 0000030 00 04 00 00 00 04 00 00 00 71 00 00 12 04 04 02 // ex-HDMI type, now Display Port and the reason for using Display Port, 0000040 // was to preserve the framebuffer's port symmetry,weight. edit 1: Didn't do much.. VGA got recognized only if I use an HDMI to DVI adapter and a VGA cable but I didn't got the right resolution on that screen. Still a bit better than before. Im gonna continue tomorrow, I had an all-nighter and it's 8 am already.. edit 2: (The Last Edit) Curtesy of Antien's post here,behold a patched Vervet FrameBuffer that HDMI and DVI works perfectly. I added VGA from Baboon which I know is working and voilà, fully working DVI+HDMI(audio too)+VGA ports on MSI 6770 1Gb. I hope this will help present and future, 6770 owners. 0000000 10 00 00 00 10 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 10 00 02 // VGA from Baboon 0000010 04 00 00 00 14 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 11 02 03 03 // DVI-Dual Link from Antien 0000020 00 02 00 00 04 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 10 04 03 // Display Port from Antien 0000030 00 08 00 00 04 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 22 05 02 04 // HDMI from Antien 0000040
  12. Hi there. I'm new to this site but not totally new to hack. I've had a hack since 10.4 and the latest version I ran was 10.9, not totally fixed but it worked to what I needed. Now I want to make the machine run as good as it can. I can see there has been a lot of changes/upgrades/new solutions since I installed my hack and I have a hard time to catch up. I've been able to boot and install macOSX and now I need the POST installation. I tried to install the clover EFI boot loader with these settings: and found the DSDT.aml and SSDT-0.aml from HERE found the apfs.efi and placed it in EFI -> EFI -> CLOVER -> driver64 and these kext in here: But when I boot it up this is the first bootscreen I have. No partions, no mouse control, no nothing. if I exit clover this screen appear. and now everything works. What is wrong? Cheers Soren

  14. Hi, I've finally decided to play around with DSDT and SSDT. I've managed to create working DSDT and I have generated a SSDT with "ssdtPRGen.sh". Now my system goes to sleep without any problem, but it seems, that P-states (and maybe C-states) don't work. Because when I launch "Intel Power Gadget", my frequency always stays at 3.4 GHz (sometimes it drops to 3.14 Ghz, but I don't think it matters). When I launch Windows, I can see in Task Manager that my frequency goes up and down (down to 0.75-0.8 Ghz). In Clover, I have dropped OEM SSDT. Also kextstat doesn't show AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext running, but I don't have NullCPUPowerManagement.kext installed anywhere. In my DSDT I have done some patching, but I didn't do anything particular about Power Management. Since most of the guides online are really old, I'd like to ask you, what should I do? In the attachment I've included the DSDT, SSDT that I'm using, my IOReg and original ACPI table. AllStuff.zip

  16. I want to get native brightness on my Asus TP300LA. I applied Brightness fix (+ Haswell, since Intel HD 4400 graphics), as well as rename PCI0.GFX0 to PCI0.IGPU to the DSDT & relevand SSDTs (Happens to be SSDT2 & SSDT7). I tried without the rename patch, with still no luck. I also tried installing ACPIBacklight from VietnamTool, and it loads when I rebuild cache, however still no luck. Inside settings, while the screen's name correctly displays "Built-in Display"; the icon for the screen is not a Macbook screen, but rather a regular monitor screen, like this: So I'm currently stuck with shades. I'd like to get native brightness working for better power management.
  17. I always had problem with my display sleep on my old sapphire radeon hd4830 512mb card (it worked once perfectly but I don't have an idea why it worked for that 2-3 days), when osx should disable the monitor, the screen just freezes but the display not going into standby mode. If I plug my display into the other DVI connector on the card (it have 2 DVI and one s-video) then display sleep works perfectly BUT my display not recognized properly and I have 800x600 resolution. So I plugged my display back to the first DVI port (where I get 1920x1080 and everything but no display sleep) and checked my system in ioregistryexplorer and found some strange things: FIRST: it says my display is "CRT" but my display is LCD and OSX recognizes it nicely in about this mac and loads specific the color profile for it automatically. SECOND: no connect flags, it's totally zero. THIRD: what is that "pci1002,aa30@0,1" thing there? My vga card IDs are not equal with that and I don't have anything in DSDT.aml there. Is anyone have an idea what is the problem with my setup? Do I need to modify ati-personalities? Maybe someone have some DSDT.aml tweaks for my problem? I tried to inject connect flags and such via DSDT.aml, but they just won't get injected. Please if anyone have some idea, let me know. edit: I forgot: If I plug the monitor into the other connector, it still appears in @0 section, not in the @1 section. Problem solved by using Cardinal framebuffer instead of Motmot!

    wake reason: glan ehc1 ehc2

Hello on my samsung np200 laptop I'm able to boot WITHOUT the NullAppleIntelCPUPowerManagement so the sleep is working properly but the pc wakes up immediately I wrote this command on terminal syslog -k Sender kernel -k Message Req Wake and Wake Reason is GLAN EHC1 EHC2 So I applyed EHCI patch and then sleep works, but in a very strange way: I have to press the power button several times and then i have to press a key on the keyboard to enable the screen; also when i close the lid its not going to sleep.. What else can I try? Maybe I can just edit _PRW and _PSW methods from GLAN and EHC1 EHC2? Thanks

    Disable NVidia GPU Dell 7720

Hi, I've been working on disabling the Nvidia GPU by DSDT edit. There is no actual guide for this, i used information from this topic to make the edits myself: http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2315 Everything is in place, well, i think, but the GPU still shows up in the System Profiler. The DSDT is a mess at the moment, sorry for that, but it works Can someone have a look at it, and possibly correct the error, also provide the information on what went wrong, for future reference? Thanks in advance. DSDT.aml.zip

I'd like to edit dsdt to load AppleLPC.kext, and not to use nullAppleIntelpowermanagement.kext, however, I can't find the address of 0x001f0000, can anybody explain or show me the data?
