Gigabyte R9 390 in High Sierra

Hello, I have problems by using my R9 390 in High Sierra. In Sierra my card is working well by doing the steps which Si Vis Pacem wrote hear. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/315027-amd-r9-390-framebuffer-issue-on-1012-sierra/?p=2292376 Except that I don't activate Enable AtiInjection and don't force Framebuffer. In High Sierra I tried the same procedure but the displays aren't showing anything except a black picture. Tried only one Display at DP,HDMI or DVI but doesn't work neither. In Sierra I can use my displays both attached to the R9 390 at DP and DVI. Do you have any ideas what I could try? Greetings
  2. Hello! I've been running High Sierra (Currently 10.13.3) on VMWare Player 12.5.9. I'm running it on a Dell XPS 15 9560 with the 4k screen. Currently I'm able to run OSX in either Native 4k resolution, or scaled to 1080p. I wanted to know if it was possible to add a 1440p scaled mode? Right now if I force 1440p resolution using VMWare tools, I simply get a smaller window with the virtual machine. So, as I understand, I need to add a HiDPI version of the resolution. Can anyone lend a helping hand? Thank you!
  3. I have an HP Elitebook 8460P running High Sierra 10.13.1 I'm trying to get wifi working, my internal wifi as far as i can tell is not mac compatible, its a intel centrino wireless I also cant change my wifi card, the elitebook i have only accepts a few different cards or it wont boot past post if it is changed. Also i have managed to brick the system a few times attempting different kext or pkgs. I cant seem to figure it out for high sierra. I have a WiFi USB RTL8188CUS, that i had working in Yosemite 10.10 using a 10.9 pkg. but as far as i can tell 10.11 El Capitan was the last driver support for the card, and doesnt work in 10.13.1. the wifi utility wont open to connect to a network. Is there a possible way to get this card working, or do i need to buy a new wifi usb. If i do need a new one what would be a good one to buy? i need it to have 10.13.1 driver support and be usb also not be to expensive, N300 is good enough but i do have an AC1750 router. Im fairly new to getting Mac running on Intel Based PCs. any help would be greatly appreciated. I got it working but it sometimes randomly disconnects me from wifi and wont reconnect until a reboot. The kext i used was for 10.11 El Capitan. i was just using the El Capitan only kext before and not the multi edition kext. Attached is the utility and kext i used. So i still need help but i have made a little progress RTL8188CUS 10.11 WiFi.zip

  6. Hello everyone, Greetings from Brazil! I successfully installed macOS High Sierra on my computer. Everything works beautifully except Sleep. No problems on restart or shutdown. When I put the system to sleep, it restarts. Any ideas on what could be going on? I've enclosed a zip file of my Clover folder. Thank you very much for your time, kind attention and help. 7. My App Store will only download the High Sierra 13.2.01 installer and I have had some issues with that version so I need High Sierra 13.1 but I can’t get it from the App Store anymore. I was able to get a 13.1.05 installer from somewhere and I now want to verify that it is genuine. The checksums for InstallESD.dmg and BaseSystem.dmg match the 10.13.1 (17B48) ones as found at: https://github.com/notpeter/apple-installer-checksums But I want to make sure that tools like createinstallmedia are also genuine. So I am looking for the SHA1 (or md5) hashes of all files in the installer app bundle. There is a great open-source osx verification project at https://sektioneins.de/en/blog/16-01-08-osx_verify.html that does exactly what I want but unfortunately High Sierra versions have not been added. It basically is a json with the hashes for all files in the bundle. Is there anyone willing to provide me with all hashes of their Install macOS High Sierra app bundle? The tool from the link is a python script that iterates all files in the bundle, calculates the hashes, and writes it to a json file. It can be used like so: git clone https://github.com/sektioneins/osx_verify cd osx_verify ./osx_verify.py --scan <insert path to 13.1.05 installer app here> --store 'Install macOS High Sierra.13.1.05.app.json' --description 'Install macOS High Sierra.13.1.05.app' The json file will be created in the osx_verify/db folder. If someone can post their json file here, or if someone has another way of verifying all the files in the bundle I would be grateful.
  8. Hello everybody, I am looking for a solution to get my 5 ghz wlan network up and running. I notice that under Windows 10 or previous yosemite installation everything worked fine. Now I switched to high sierra. WLAN works perfectly in the 2.4 GHZ band. Bluetooth works well, too. Does anyone have similar experiences with the same Broadcom network card? I am happy about any help! Best Regards
  9. Hi, Sorry if this question has been asked before but I couldn't find an answer for this specific question after searching the forums. I have upgraded ESXi from 6 to 6.5 and at the same time moved from Sierra to High Sierra. I now have a strange issue where if I try to mount a USB device from a remote host or locally attached to the server, osx becomes non responsive and just hangs. USB mounting still works without issue for existing non osx images. I have even tried re-installing Sierra in a fresh image but the problem persists. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
  10. Well I've past last days reading, understanding and trying to implement all the things mentioned in the guides from different forums, mainly the ones written by RehabMan. 12. Salve a tutti!

Now, you can boot USB with -v Post-Installation: 1. Clover_v2.4k_r4359 or latest 2. Check mark on Install Clover as ESP 3. Select Bootloader --> Install boot0af in MBR 4. CloverEFI--> CloverEFI 64-bits SATA 5. Check mark on Drivers64 6. Copy patched APFS.efi, and NTFS.efi to EFI\CLOVER\Drivers64 7. Somehow Clover did not generate kexts in Other folder. So I copy these kexts (see picture). picture post later Note: I use VoodooHDA version 2.8.8. Latest v2.9.x did not see "green rear plug". Maybe someone how to patch, if so please post how. Thanks 8. I would just use config.plist from bootable usb since it already had the patch in it.
  14. Hello everyone! I'm trying to get my hackintosh running, but i haven't been able to sadly. I'm basically trying to install high sierra onto my computer which is the following specs: Intel i7 8700k Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 7 Gigabyte 1080 Ti AORUS Xtreme Edition 11GB I had high sierra installed, but i messed up the software somehow, and then i thought i could just reinstall it (since it was really easy the first time, no issues) but was i wrong. I haven't been able to reinstall it even after wiping the drive completely clean. I am running windows 10, so i will be doing a dual boot. I started following the following guide and it worked for the first time, but even after using their EFI it isn't working still: http://hackintosher.com/builds/gigabyte-z370-aorus-gaming-7-hackintosh-build-guide/ I'd appreciate any help i could get, i'm really at a loss. Thanks in advanced!
  15. Hi everyone! I'm really struggling to get my first Hackintosh up and running, and after researching this issue for ages, I cannot seem to find a solution that works for me, so I've posted in TonyMacx86 as well as here the problem that I'm having, as I am very desperate for some sort of solution. I have gotten to the point in High Sierra installation after the first reboot, to the process where the operating system is actually installed on the local HDD. Unfortunately, my installer consistently crashes at the same place, with 15 min remaining in the installation, giving the message "macOS could not be installed on your computer An error occurred installing macOS. To use Apple Diagnostics...". I have tried the following steps to fix the issue: -Re-installing/re-imaging the USB drive (going as far as to reformat the thumb drive and re-download the High Sierra app from the App store) -Attempting the installation with only one stick of RAM instead of two -Removing EmuVariableUefi-64.efi from its original location -Unplugging any external storage devices -Checking to make sure the destination disk is formatted correctly (it is) -Trying any combination of boot-flags that I could think of (no effect, except curiously safe mode crashes my installation) And, these are my specs: i7-8700k GeForce 1080 MSI Z370 SLI PLUS ASUS Xonar DGX (I imagine I'll have to disable this when I get the OS up and running...I doubt there's any way I'll be able to support a sound card) 2x8GB RAM 512GB Samsung 960 Pro NVMe SSD (windows boot drive) 4TB Seagate HDD (windows data drive) 1TB Seagate HDD (OS X destination drive) The tutorial I've been following for the installation has been a combination between this forum post: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/ And this walkthrough: http://hackintosher.com/guides/macos-high-sierra-hackintosh-install-clover-walkthrough/ (the TonyMacx86 walkthrough was giving me too many problems so I abandoned it) I got my config.plist off of this website's forums, from a person with a very similar build to my own. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    High Sierra CPU PM help

Hello all, I just completed my first full hackintosh build (Parts listed below) and have everything fully functional with the exception of CPU power management. Has anyone had success with this in high sierra skylake build? I have followed a couple different guides I have found without success, none of which are for high sierra. High Sierra Build CPU= i7 6700k Mobo= Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI RAM= G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB 3000MHz PSU= EVGA 750W Titanium Liquid Cooling= NZXT Kraken X52 GPU= None yet, using onboard HD530 currently. SSD= Samsung 850 500GB What's working: Pretty much everything (iMessage, Audio, Display, etc..) What's not working: CPU power management is the only thing I have found to be non functioning.
  17. My system specs: GA-H55M-USB3 rev. 1.0 | i5 760 | Sapphire Radeon R7 240 Motherboard is NOT UEFI. Actually I've installed Yosemite 10.10.5 on a SATA HDD (NO SSD) without major issues. SATA controller is an Intel 5 series in AHCI mode. I'm trying to update to High Sierra 10.13.2, downloaded from AppStore. When I boot from USB pendrive (using Clover r4334, config.plist attached), and select macOS installation (installation files resides in Yosemite HDD), installation fails with those errors: HID: shim legacy 2 USB pendrive is inserted in a USB2.0 port. I've tried to insert it in all available USB ports but error is still present. Kexts used (all in EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other): AppleALC.kext (used in Yosemite to have working audio with ALC889) FakeSMC.kext GenericUSBXHCI.kext (for USB3.0, NEC/Renesas chip) Lilu.kext (dependency of AppleALC) RealtekRTL8111.kext (Ethernet) USBInjectAll.kext VoodooPS2Controller.kext (mouse) Downloaded from Rehabman bitbucket repositories, latest version where applicable or from author's repository. Any clues? config.plist.zip
  18. Hi I bought a Samsung 960 NVMe SSD to replace my windows notebook m.2 SSD However, it turns out that the SSD on the windows notebook is not compatible with Samsung SSD due to current differences. 19. Hi all, I'm following this guide to install 10.13 to my 8700k build. Specs are as follows 8700k Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7 Rev 1 Gskill Trident z 32gb 3000 EVGA 1080ti sc2 Samsung 850 evo 500gb I've made a bootable usb following this guide and added the EFI from the thread at the top of this post. I've edited smbios to be imac 18,3, updated Fake SMC to 3.5.1, am using the latest clover 4318 followed this guide to enable Nvidia gpu. Kexts are already in the “other” folder, removed EMUVariableUEFi. Used Clover Configurator to generate new serial and smuuid and made sure ff and ffm were not zeroes. I've tried this whole process at least a half dozen times in slightly different ways each time. Furthest I've gotten is to the second stage of the install, after the first reboot and the creation of the recovery partition, the installer hangs and gives a somewhat generic error message saying something along the lines of "Mac OS High Sierra can not be installed on this computer. Run Apple Diagnostics." Checking the install log and I find one error that seems to be of note regarding a failed extraction of Core.pkg if memory serves [was doing this late at night]. Can any one of you gurus provide any help? I really appreciate any help!
  20. Hello everyone I have a problem setting the virtual OS X to display the screen's native resolution(1600x900). When the machine first boots up, it displays the right resolution then after the logging in by a few moments the screen displays a wrong resolution(800x450 HIPDI) which is a quarter of the resolution. I have macOS High Sierra (10.13.1) on VMware Workstation 14 Pro version: 14.0.0 build-6661328. My laptop has i5-4310U CPU with HD graphics 4400 which has 128mb dedicated video memory and a 1600x900 screen. I have installed VMware tools that was created on 14 September 2017 and VMware unlocker version 2.1.1 made by DrDonk. When logging in the background isn't the blurred wallpaper and the dock isn't transparent as it should be, or at least from what I saw on the internet. Here is what I have tried up until now: 1) Changing the resolution from the system preferences. 2) Using sudo /Library/Application\ Support/VMware\ Tools/vmware-resolutionSet 1600 900 Which displayed this output: Requested resolution: 1600x900 Effective resolution: 1600x900 Without any result. 3) I tried setting the screen's native resolution in the Display settings of VMware, still nothing. 4) I also tried to change virtualHW.version from 14 to 10 but it also did not do anything noticeable. The only thing that changed is that the blurred wallpaper was in the background when logging in. One thing to note is that it runs correctly up until 1366x768. I think the problem may be that the OS tries to load kexts after the logging in that interferes with the VMware tools, but I am not sure or that there is a hardware limitation, but I do not know a way to test it. Does anyone know how to fix that?
/etc/vmware/config に以下を追記します。
  22. Hi All, I am currently running on OS X 10.13.1 (High Sierra) and everything works perfectly, besides sleep... I've scoured the internet for an answer but can't figure out how to force my computer to stay asleep (seriously, it's like an infant that's consumed too much sugar). Keeping the computer on 24/7 is wasting so much energy. Here are my specifications: CPU: I7-4790k (Haswell) Memory: 32gb DDR3 GPU: Nvidia 1080ti Gigabyte Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI Network Card: TP-Link Archer T9E (PCI-E Wireless AC) Cooler: Corsair H110i GTX (Corsair Link Connected to USB Header) HDD: 4 SSD's Other Accessories: Oculus Rift, C920 Webcam, Yeti USB Microphone Here are the Kexts/items I've installed into the computer: Clover (UEFI Boot Mode), Drivers (VoodooHDA V2. 9.0d10), 3rd Party SATA, FakeSMC, FakeSMC Plugins, 3rd Party USB 3.0, 7/8/9 Series USB Support, NVIDIA Web Drivers Boot Flag Here is the output of "pmset -g assertions": https://imgur.com/a/Zo4kG Here is what I've done so far: Changes Standby, Autopoweroff, StandbyDelay values Went to BIOS, disabled Wake on Lan Option Changed the darkwake settings to darkwake = no and darkwake = 8,9.. Cried myself to sleep out of frustration At the moment, I turned the hibernatemode to 25 and that seems to shut the computer down automatically. The downside to this is, I need to wait for the computer to completely boot up each time it goes into Hibernate..
  23. Hello everyone! This is a new user to InsanelyMac, although I've built my Hackintosh long ago with the information on this forum But it seems like the problem I encountered has no solution posted here, I would like to share my solution to that. I have an i7 6700k, a GIGABYTE Z170 motherboard (though these two are not important at all in this problem), and a GTX970. I recently updated my Hackintosh from 10.11 to 10.13.1 (I think it should also work for 10.13) through App Store. The system was successfully installed, but I found that it was impossible to log in the system with my GTX970 plugged in -- it always led to black screen (no signal) before the login screen was shown. There are some discussion on InsanelyMac, but none of the solutions proposed worked for me. Here are my experiments: Since I am using iMac 15, 1 SMBIOS, I manually modified the AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext so that it would not use the "Config2," or I can't even boot into the system with my IGFX (as we all know, it causes black screen / no signal before login). AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext is NOT the cause of the problem in my case, although they have the same symptom; before using this solution, check your SMBIOS and AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext. I also put Lilu.kext and NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext in my Clover, but since they do the same thing as manually modifying Info.plist, I don't think it really matters here. In case of installing a broken Web Driver to my Hackintosh, I enabled SIP before the installation of Nvidia driver. It seemed like it worked: the first time I installed the Web Driver with SIP disabled, as well as after I accidentally removed a kext from /S/L/E and broke the driver, it produced a "gIOScreenLockState 3" problem. One of my guesses: the "gIOScreenLockState 3" is due to a broken or disabled (i.e. forgot to add NvidiaWeb in Clover config) web driver. NVwebDriverLibValFix.kext has no effect. It changed nothing but caused reboot before login when I was using IGFX. At last, I tried injecting a fake ID for Nvidia (0x00000000) and it WORKS! Go to "Devices" section in Clover Configurator (if you use it) and put 0x00000000 to "NVidia" in the "Fake ID" section, or modify the text of Config.plist like this: ... <key>Devices</key> <dict> ... <key>FakeID</key> <dict> <key>NVidia</key> <string>0x00000000</string> </dict> ... </dict> ... Then save, reboot. It should work if you have the same problem with me. Hope this help. If you have any question, leave a reply. I would be glad if I can help someone solve the problem.
  24. Hello everyone, I have an issue with the lastest clover revision that I did not had with rev. 4077 using BiosBlockIO. Clover hangs at "Scanning entries...". To be able to boot, I must install without using BiosBlockIO but Sata instead. I'd like to use BiosBlockIO as I have RocketRaid 2720SGL that is faster than my Rampage 3 Extreme ICH10 controller (the same is true with Marvell controller) and is only bootable with this option. If I revert back to rev 4077, it does not hang... Is anyone having an idea about this issue ? Thanks
  25. I've just installed High Sierra as a new install under VMware Wkstn 12.5.7 and installed VM Tools but it's not mounting any USB HDDs that I plug in. USB flash drives are mounted OK. The USB HDD is recognised as a device (see External USB 3.0 in the attached screenshot) but Disk Utility doesn't see it. I've closed and re-opened DU a number of times. I've tried VMware Wkstn 14.0.0 and the latest VM tools but still doesn't mount. Has anyone had a similar issue or now what the problem may be? thanks Webby
