1. I have a system running 10.8.1, its running the following hardware: CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 rev2 Graphics: Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 My problem stems from the graphics card not being fully detected or shown in the system info. In system info it reads as 6xxx AMD card. This is causing issues with Steam and Adobe products. Any ideas? I am running GraphicsEnalbler=No as it is not needed for my card to boot. Switching GraphicsEnabler=Yes causes the system to be unable to fully boot.
2. Hey guys, I recently installed SL on my AMD machine (specs below) using the ModCD+Retail method. Everything went without a hitch and I was even able to get dual monitors working (eventually) on 5830 without QE/CI. However, I have a weird problem that when i restart the system the same display is shown on both screens, even though it's in extended and not mirrored mode. The only way I can get around this is by modifying behaviour on boot (Graphics strings, change cable, etc). If I boot using Chameleon and a single monitor it crashes and reboots just before the desktop comes up. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this and if there is a simple fix? Thanks. Specs: Asus M4A77T/USB AMD Phenom II X4 955 XFX Radeon HD5830 80GB 5400RPM SATA HDD Using modified ATI5000controller.kext
3. Hello, I purchased a hp laptop with Intel i7-6500U processor and a dedicated video card AMD R7 M440. I wanted to know if my pc is compatible with MacOS Sierra. Thank you P.S excuse my bad english
4. Hi there, im currently upgrading my System and i'm looking for a new/better Graphics Card to get rid of my old GT640. I had Nvidia Cards my entire life now, so I got used to them, but I've heard that AMD Radeon Graphics Cards aren't that bad either. And they are cheap, as I heard xD But I have really no clue where to start. I'm looking for a Graphics Card somewhere around 200€. It should be compatible with OSX 10.11 and support the newest Games on Windows with a decent resolution. But I don't need to play Games on Ultimate haha. Im currently using both the dedicated NVIDIA and the integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600 simultaneously. So this also should be possible Has someone an Idea which Graphics Card would be the best? Thanks in advance.
5. I have the USB ports that are messy. It's even hard to explain what happens as it's not linear. At second wake from sleep USBs keyboard and mouse become unusable. If they're plugged on USB3 instead at second wake from sleep the PC...reboots itself. When I reboot at times USB keyb and mouse are not recognised. Front panel USB3 don't work. USB bluetooth after wake from sleep works really bad. Some USB3 drives get stuck while copying forcing a reboot. On Tonymac (sorry) some guy called pastrychef (moderator) tells the story of his build and how he fixed USB. He says Mr RehabMan in person suggests to create a custom SSDT for USBInjectAll.kext Now, being my machine AMD, some of what they suggest to do becomes difficult to process. All in all they say to forget your USBs are working fine unless: 1 you're lucky, 2 you fix them properly. I'm not lucky. Are there permanent fixes because I need sleep to work on my machine and I have all these troubles on USB that affect stability. Thanks all for your help.

8. Hey all, With the recent release of the experimental Lion Kernel for AMD Processors. I decided to give it a go, so I booted up Windows, opened Disk Manager and created a 230GB Partition for my OS X Lion install, and then a 30GB Partition for my Mac OS X Snow Leopard install(Required to install OS X Lion). Once that job was completed I then downloaded Hazard OSX(10.6.2) for AMD Machines. Then I downloaded iAtkos L2. Once they were finished downloading I then burned Hazard OSX to a 4.7GB DVD+R Disk at 2.4x While it burned I also transferred iAtkos L2 onto one of the two 8GB USB Flash drives I have. Then once they were both done burning/copying I decided to download the Kexts I needed for Snow Leopard, since I had Snow Leopard Installed previously I knew exactly which Kexts were required. But for Lion I had to do a bit of "Kext Hunting", if you will. After that, I finally took a deep breath and rebooted. The Hazard install went perfect. Very smooth. I installed my Kexts and what not, Rebooted and I had a running Snow Leopard Partition. From this point I then followed this Guide: [AMD] 10.7.3 Guide - Experimental (Written by Devout) I opened the OSInstall Package, and proceeded through the install, I selected my OS X Lion Partition and was very careful to not over-write my Snow Leopard partition. The install took from around 10-20 Minutes. I can't remember. Once the install was done... I replaced the mach_kernel in my OS X Lion root with this AMD Lion Kernel: [AMD] Lion Kernel (V4) Once done, I rebooted I was presented with Chameleon and I then did a regular boot. This is where my problems began because almost instantly after I booted my OS X Lion partition my Computer Rebooted, and then this just led to a constant reboot loop if I selected my Lion Partition. This peaked my interest as I have never been presented with such a situation. So I booted -v (Verbose Mode) to see what was going on. But I couldn't, the kexts were being loaded way to fast for any human-being to comprehend what was being out-putted onto my screen. I then assumed that this was a Graphics Problem. So I first tried switching video outputs from DVI to VGA. And still, the same thing. Then I decided to switch to my onboard graphics. This time, the kexts were being loaded much slower to the point I was actually able to read them. But what really surprised me was the fact that Lion loaded all the way up to... "Starting Darwin x86" I was baffled at this point, and out of ideas. I tried many different boot flags and to no avail. So InsanelyMac Community, I look to you for the answer to this! My Hardware: HP P6610F AMD Athlon II X4 635 Onboard-Graphics: AMD RadeonHD 4200 Dedicated Graphics Card: Zotac 8400GS 512mb Motherboard Chipset: AMD 785g Motherboard Brand: Foxconn Motherboard Model: N/A(Unknown) Audio: ALC888s-VD(Onboard) Ethernet: Realtek RTL8105E 4gb DDR3 Ram Thank you very much, InsanelyMac. Any help is much appreciated!
9. I have a MSI 6850 installed on Gigabyte B75M-HD3. When I use Chameleon bundled in MyHack or [censored ], the graphics works fine, but when I overwrite Chameleon from Chameleon Wizard to the latest SVN, the graphics no longer works. With ge=no boot flag: Chameleon Wizard - resolution in 1024x768, can't recognize the chip MyHack - resolution in 1920x1080, chip was recognized as Radeon 6xxx series with 1GB RAM With ge=yes boot flag: Chameleon Wizard - halted, no log-in screen appeared. MyHack - resolution in 1920x1080, chip was correctly recognized as Radeon 6850 with 1GB RAM It seems that the latest SVN build from official Chameleon is not the version I need to make my hackintosh operate correctly. I thought 6850 was added into the Chameleon supported list long ago though. Maybe there's something I missed? Anyway there's a workaround: switch back to MyHack. However I'm curious about what's going on there. BTW I'm trying switching to Clover, but never have the luck: Themes are broken, and the log in screen never shows up.
10. Mavericks is old news, but I am an old dog. I like experimenting. After playing with my first mac Mavericks install, and updating, more or less successfully, to 10.9.5, I noted many things stopped working. Preview, Messages for instance. Well, I didn't really want to wipe out what I had going, and short on SATA drives, I needed to find a way to install onto an IDE (pata) drive to see what I could get going. So, I still had my vanilla "myHack" USB loaded up with Mavericks. I had already found the files IOATAFamily and AppleViaATA (AppleNForceATA was also there) that made ide drives visible on my current install. I added those files to the installer's S\L\E and gave it a try. I booted using -v npci=0x3000 (which was actually the wrong npci) and the installer booted, actually faster than previously. The install showed my drives, all of them. Mavericks does not natively see ide at all. I went through Disk Utility. set up my WD 80gig drive for GUID, and the regular MacOS EXTENDED Journaled. exited Disk Utility. At this point, prior to my little file additions, The installer would sometimes lock up here. No problems. Went back to selection, chose my IDE WD drive and moved on with install. As always, the install took quite some time. at the end, myHack offers to remove some files. I go with that. It also offers a choice of Generic or Use my own "EXTRA". I had my own ready. Then, myHack runs myFix. and for the first time, successfully. In the past, I would end installs with either a freeze or reboot. Several minutes later I get the message, Install Successful. Now you aren't finished. I tested the restart, and to no surprise, it didn't load initially. Next step is to open my new install from another working install. My case, I used my Snow Leo. reinstall my kernel choice. mine is named McKay_kernel. I don't remember where I got it, but it was the first one to actually load on my ASRockAlive sata2-glan / AMD 64 X2 4600+ Machine. Then look into your install S\L\E. Missing the new ata files I mentioned above. So I copied all those back in. Used Kext Wizard to repair permissions\ rebuild caches. Also, Used Chameleon Wizard to set up my org.chameleon.boot.plist and smbios.plist . smbios I kept simple. chose a preconfigured mac pro 6,1 (you can choose whatever you care to, 4,1 and 5,1 will probably be good choices) The boot flags are the most important. in my case I used the following for initial success. -v -f cpus=1 busratio=12 npci=0x2000 PCIRootUID=1 Graphics Mode=1024x768x32 GraphicsEnabler=Yes . I will fine tune these later, removing any unneeded flags. The file should end up containing something like this <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1024x768x32</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>cpus=1 busratio=12 npci=0x2000 PCIRootUID=1 -f</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>8</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>Yes</string> Finally, I give everything the once over and reboot back to my Mavericks IDE install. and then I watch my dual monitors come to grey, then load the User Setup dialogues. These are all the basics. nothing really new. The cloud wouldn't set up, but that's not a problem. I set that up via safari later. (not from preferences as the error message suggests) I am also using an nVidia GeForce GT 610 1gb. I didn't have any huge problems until attempting to load Multi-critter (you know what I am talking about) and then got a nice Kernel Panic from the desktop. I was after the voodoo drivers for my sound. So, next to update nvidia drivers and get the voodoo drivers elsewhere. I will further test to see if that particular app is the cause or it is a glitch in the geforce drivers. pretty basic walk through, but if you have an older board like myself, this will give you access to your ide pata drives. Also, your old dvd burners, cdroms. But most of all, the HDD and installing on pata drives. PLUS, I think it actually made the installer work better being able to recognize my ATA ide bus. The files I used were found searching on Youtube. There is also a tutorial there somewhere, which I gathered the info to do this. My next test.... will this work for Yosemite\ El Capitan.... have fun guys n gals. keep experimenting and learning and thanks to all of you for sharing yours [ Already tested the ata files in 10.9.5 successfully ]
11. Hello everyone, would really quite like a definitive answer on whether it's possible and has been successfully achieved to use an R9 290 graphics card in a hackintosh setup, and whether there are likely to be any issues with it if so. I've searched around and found some resources on here and elsewhere, but there were lots of conflicting answers as to whether it's possible and I'm not sure what to believe, it's quite important because I need the latest OS X on my desktop and currently have an HD 6950, which unfortunately is stuck using 10.8.x. So my upgrade is largely to do with compatibility for Hackintosh. Gaming extras are a bonus of course. FYI the card I'm hoping to get is: Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 Windforce OC editionIf anyone has any experience specifically to this card that'd be great. I'm no stranger to hacking or workarounds, I had to make a lot for the 6950 to work right with the prior version of OS X. Any knowledge welcomed
12. So the source has just been released. https://opensource.apple.com/release/os-x-1010/ With this release I want to do things a bit different: Topic ONLY for releases of kernels (this topic), this will make it easier to find kernels in the forum. Topic ONLY for the testing of a kernel, when a release of a kernel gets posted on this topic inform the other topic of the release and post findings at %5BAMD%5D Yosemite Kernel Testing. I am also thinking of posting a topic on the building of each kernel release listing the: Dependancies Kernel Version Post the diffs for each release. Let me know if that would be something the testers would be keen on having.
13. Hi, folks! Recently i decided to adventure myself in the realm of OX86 pcs. Reading here and there and starting from scratch, i learned really a lot of things this weekend. Distros, virtualisation, ketxs, terminal etc. kept me busy in the last 48 hours. So, i have had some success installing Snow Leopard on vmware player. Managed to alter display resolution to fit the size of my monitor. Internet connection working nicely. Sound... well, here is where trouble begins: looking everywhere i could, still i didn`t find a driver or app that makes it work properly. I tried many, from the core audio driver to ensoniq. In the end, the sound was enabled but slow, distorted and crackling. I tried to fix it myself! Lost my entire sunday in vain on it, but i had to give in and share my pain here. And, with luck, get some help towards a solution or, at least, a hope that there is a solution for it. Please! My hardware is: AMD Athlon 7750 (kuma) 2.7 ghz, 4gb ddr2 ram, MSI motherboard with on-board sound, a realtek high definition audio device. Thanks!
14. I have a AMD Phenom II x4 965 (black), and Asus Gforce 210 Silent, running on a Gigabyte GA-880GM-D2H (rev. 1.x), AMD880G Chipset. Running Mavericks 10.9.1 I tried everything to get mavericks to boot, but it would only boot to a white screen, sometimes the console spit out a bunch of "junk", but no kernel panic, that is until I came across this thread and kernel: http://www.osx86.net/files/file/3657-amd-fx-109-mavericks-kernel-nvidia-work/?st=40#comment_75955 I have full internet, working sound, full graphics acceleration and HD resolution, and I can run the chess app and VLC, handbrake etc. with no problems at all. [Edit] I have tested iMessage, works great, iCloud dose not gives communications errors. I will post my findings on Photoshop once I install it... [Edit] I have tested adobe Photoshop CC and it runs perfect... FaceTime dose not work, gives error processing registration.... For anyone having issues with the installer as I did, do this: You will need: 1) Freshly set up copy of Mavericks on VMware with AMD CPU 2) Carbon Copy Cloner 3) SATA to USB adapter or SATA Drive enclosure 4) Chameleon Wizard 5)mach_kernel : http://www.osx86.net/files/file/3657-amd-fx-109-mavericks-kernel-nvidia-work/ [Edit] I have attached the kernel I used check the bottom of this Topic Follow the following steps: 1) Mount the USB Adapter/Enclosure in VMWARE 2) Clone Mavericks to the USB HDD using Carbon Copy Cloner 3) Navigate to S/L/E remove all VMware kexts 4) Use Chameleon Wizard to install the bootleader to the usb drive 5) Navigate to /Extra on the USB drive and Right-click org.chameleon.Boot.plist select open with and choose other, navigate to were you saved chameleon wizard and click open, I have the following checked: a)GUI b)Timeout: 5 c)Legacy Logo d) Kernel: mach_kernel e) Use Kernel Cashe f) ncpi=x3000 (if your system freezes at [PCI CONFIGURATION], disable this or use x2000) g) SMBios.plist: /Extra/smbios.plist h) Restart Fix i) Graphics enabler=Yes 6) Navigate to you USB drive, and delete the current mach_kernel, replace with the attached mach_kernel (for NVidia users) 7) Reinstall the SATA drive back into its intended Computer. 8) Try to boot (this is were I had issues, I had to use google to get past them) 9) Once your booted to your desktop, install VoodooHDA for your sound, and try lnx2mac drivers for your Ethernet ( I found that using separate installers for voodoo and lnx2mac worked better then [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] on AMD Mavericks 10) Enjoy This is my first MAC tutorial, please pardon my spelling mach_rc7_10_9.zip

ATI Radeon 4200

Hey everybody, I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on my HP Pavilion. Everything is working great except for the graphics card. My resolution is currently 1024 x 768. I have looked around for kexts but I have found nothing and everything is so maximied currently. Is there any solution to getting a good resolution for my ATI Radeon 4200? I have literally searched up so many times on Google yet I still haven't found a proper kext. Also I am running Legacy's Kernel for my boot manager? Please I would be really grateful if someone could help. Thank you very much. -Momin

18. I've installed Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 using this guide (Method 2). Installation went successful, since I have already an working SL build and Chameleon, I just had to replace the Kernel. Whatever Kernel I'd use, I would get instant reboot. I have tried all mentioned flags, and different combinations of them, searched the forum around and couldn't find any solutions. I have to mention that I always had a fully working build on my PC, SL was installed from retail disk with just a few kexts added, and everything else working oob, just can't make my Lion install work. Any ideas of any kexts which would cause this?

20. Hey Everyone, I just wanted to ask if I can use a AMD Radeon HD 7570 in a hackintosh. People are saying it's just renamed it is actually the HD 6570's. I just wanted to know this I want to build a hackintosh in a few months/days. ~Stransform
21. Hi guys, I have a AMD Radeon HD7850 GPU in my Intel hackintosh build. The issue with it is that when I use Clover's FakeID to spoof it as a supported card, after it says "GPU HW <something>" from the kernel, the screen will assumably go black, and then nothing is displayed when I assume the login screen is displayed. I have tried testing all the ports on the card, from DVI, HDMI and the 2 Mini DisplayPorts through a MiniDP to DP adapter, but it seems that the GPU is outputting to some odd output, or just giving a black screen. The only way to rescue the machine is... and I'm sorry to say... the reset button. My configuration is a ASRock H81M Motherboard, with a HD7850 2GB HIS GPU (Real ID in Clover = 6819, Spoof ID = 0x68181002). Parameters used: FakeID [ATI] = 0x68181002 (set as per Clover wiki) InjectATI = True FB Config = Futomaki (is this even needed? Tried booting without this set, still the same black screen) Ports = 5 (Default setting, but I only have 4 Ports) I really want to use the GPU on the DVI Port. Is there a way to say to the card that I want it to output to the DVI port, or which output I want to use? I appreciate the help, this is driving me nuts, but this hackintosh has worked mostly out of the box with a few mods to the kexts to enable audio, etc.
22. Hi everybody! I need some help today: I’m trying to install Mac OS Sierra 10.12.5 on my friend’s laptop, which is an Acer Aspire 5250, but that’s quite a difficult task because it’s an AMD CPU. The model is AMD E-450 APU with Radeon HD Graphics (graphics model Radeon HD 6320). I need some help because I can’t boot the installer, when I select my USB from Clover, after the row of pluses in verbose mode instead of showing me all the booting commands it stucks on a black screen and the screen starts flickering along with a continuous beep sound and so I’m unable to get to the installer. 24. Background After searching though an abundance of forums to get through many errors and graphics problems, I have been able to put together 2 very successful AMD 10.6.8 computers. The process is very easy, and should work on any AMD computer. System Specs: ASUS M4A79 Deluxe AMD Phenom II X3 720(2.8Ghz) Overclocked to 3.4GhzX4 G.SKILL PI Black 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) HIS AMD 6850 GPU Before you install Download my Zip from rapidshare Unzip Burn The mod CD to a disk Go out and "buy" a copy of 10.6.3 or 10.6.4 Reboot and go into bios Make sure the drive you are installing to is set to AHCI Turn off Cool N' Quiet Turn off C1E Install Boot from that Mod CD that you burned earlier Wait till it shows the nawcom chameleon screen, insert the 10.6.3 or 10.6.4 disk and press F5 When the install DVD pops up type in "GraphicsEnabler=No" and hit enter This should bring you to the install screen, if you have a problem, leave a comment below When you get to the install screen keep hitting next till you get to destination select and then open Disk Utility In Disk Utility, select the HDD you want to install to and then go to erase and name it what you want to. After you have erased it, it will show up in destinations, select it and hit next when you get to the last screen, hit Customize and deselect Graphics Enabler Click Install If all went well, it should bring you to the setup screen were you enter all your info(dont worry if the graphics look weird, that will be fixed when we update to 10.6.8) Go through everything, and then transfer the folder from the zip on to the mac desktop Updateing to 10.6.8 to give you the app store and full graphics support Download and install the 10.6.8 combo update http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399 (DO NOT CLICK RESTART!!!) With the 10.6.8 window still open, go into the folder from the zip Open up the legacy kernel package and finish installing that Open [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] and install the IOUSBFamily Rollback and System utilities ONLY Once that is complete, go in the Kexts folder, and open up Kext Wizard In Kext Wizard, go to the Installation tab, find and select the 2 kexts in kexts folder, click the System/Library/Extensions button, and click install Once completed, go into Maintenance click on the System/Library/Extensions button, and then click Execute After it is done(it takes a while), close Kext Wizard [*]Go back to the combo update window, and click restart Your Done! (Hopefully, if you have any problems leave a comment and ill try to help you) DOWNLOAD:https://rapidshare.c...stall_files.zip

OS X METAL Particles Bench (FPS)

Version 2

941 downloads

EDIT: After investigation it is clear that the older Particles Metal DEMO is really more an DEMO, and not usable as bench - because CPU bound limit, very huge cpu loads generating and moving that particles. NEW: From source here : https://github.com/F...alKit-Particles compiled app : from DOWNLOAD Screenshoot shows low cpu usage but very high (full) GPU load = i think diff gpus should perform different, compared to the demo below. first results 6 FPS Nvidia GT 740 18 FPS Nvidia GTX 650 THREAD: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/309245-metal-particles-demo-measures-fps/
