  1. Thanks for the guide. I have a laptop with 2 hard drives one with Win7 and the other with Lion. Till I saw your guide I thought I was just going to live with changing the time in Windows if I wanted a Hackintosh drive. It works great.
  2. Ok I d/loaded the Lion app from Apple and installed it on my Snow Leopard 10.6.8. The install went without any problems, but after the computer reboots it comes up as Snow Leopard 10.6.8 still. What did I do wrong?
  3. NIC is an nVidia MCP55 Ven ID 10de DEV ID 0373 and I believe it's a gigabit adapter that's incorporated on the MOBO Edit: I just d/loaded Lion from the app store should I upgrade or do a fresh install?
  4. The PlugIns folder was empty, so I tried reinstalling IONetworkingFamily kext from the ModCD. But it still won't initiallize the NIC unless I boot using the ModCD.
  5. I see you're using Nawcoms boot CD have you tried using the OSX86 Mid CD to boot your system ? You can find a link to it on the first page of this post.
  6. Tap the space bar before the bar gets all the way to the end and try booting typing in npci=0x2000 -v
  7. Guess I posted a bit prematurely Don't know what happened but now I can't get it to recognize my Ethernet card. It was working when I d/loaded the new kernel and sleep enabler. But when I turned it on this morning I now don't have Internet access. I checked in network settings and it indicates that the cable is unplugged even though it isn't I did check the cable and it's plugged in and I looked at the router and there appears to be activity on the port it's plugged into (the light on the front of router is blinking). Is there a way to go back to the old kernel? Or could it be an incompatibility with the sleep enabler? Also I noticed that it also isn't shutting down properly either now. When I go to shut it off it doesn't shut down all the way. It goes through the steps the screen goes black but it doesn't finish shutting off. Edit: Well if I boot from the ModCD using mach_kernel -v the ethernet card is enable and internet is accessable.
  8. No I can only boot using the ModCD. I'll look on nawcoms site for the updated Sleep Enabler. Edit: Update I installed yhe 10.6.8 Sleep Enabler & at the same time the 10.8.0 Kernel -- now able to boot from HDD!! Once again Thank you
  9. The only way I can get it to boot is to have the ModCD in and boot using mach_kernel pmVersions=0 npci=0x2000 where do I find the 10.6.8 SleepEnabler If I upgrade to Lion what steps would I need to follow? Thanks for all your help so far
  10. I tried booting with pmVersion=0 and it stopped at [PCI Configuration Begin]
  11. Ok I checked on the nvidia driver to see if I had to install it using the system info app and it indicated that the kext for the nvidia mpc 55 was already installed. So I decided to upgrade to 10.6.8 using the combo update. All seemed to go well untill I rebooted. Now I get a kernel panic. It indicates version mis-match between kernel (23) and CPU PM (24). Suggestions?
  12. Not yet. Is the driver I need on the ModCD or on the SL DVD? Also ------ Good Luck on your exams!
  13. Ok but how do I get it to boot without the Mod CD in?
  14. I'd be interested in learning how it's done.
  15. If I boot while still in AHCI mode using the Mod CD I still get the waiting for Root Device message, and if I switch off AHCI and boot using the Mod CD I don't get the still waiting for Root Device and get to the desktop, but if I boot from the HDD it stops at still waiting for Root Device.
