Turns out it is because I had a MBR drive. I re-installed everything and it is working fine now. Thank you eep357!
  2. Boot0: done

Okay I did as you said but I still get this: Boot0: done I have almost tried every method. Only one I have not dome and can not do right is the Linux live cd method.. What is exactly wrong here? I forgot to mention try specs: Asus x53s I7 750gb hard drive 6gb ddr3 I am willing to try anything as booting from a DVD is super annoying..

Hey thanks for replying. I'm sorry this might be a noob question.. How do I convert a disk to mbr? And also which directory are the binaries in after using pacifist?
  4. Boot0: done

Hey guys, So I have been trying to get mac and windows 7 dual boot on this asus laptop for months now. As of now I do have both properly installed (using iAtkos L2). A huge problem i am running in to though is with my boot. When i start the laptop all i see is: boot0: done Thats it, nothing more nothing less. I have tried installing boot1h through terminal from the DVD, I have tried to run ###### and try to reinstall chameleon. I have even reinstalled lion trying both chimera and chameleon. All give me the same problem and I can't seem to get it past this point. :/ As a last resort, Ive come here again lol What can i do at this point? Thanks for your help guys!

How did you fix the boot problem??
  9. Asus X53S and the GT 540M 1gb

I just followed your guide and I have the exact same problem. I'm stuck on the apple screen (frozen spinner) on the first boot after installation. Anyone have any ideas why it may be doing this? Its supposed to default to the HD3000 correct? well it doesn't seem to be working..
  10. Asus X53S and the GT 540M 1gb

still trying but not getting far..
  11. Guide on installing on Asus X53S.

was wondering the same thing... google was no help in finding a guide for this haha
  12. I wanted to dual boot my laptop (Asus X53S) with mac and windows and so far have gotten everything installed except running in to problems with the GT 540m. I used iAtkos L2 to install mac and have Windows 7 on another partition. I get the installation of mac lion successful but with one problem. After the install and reboot, my screen freezes and I can hear the voice over prompt for the first boot so I know it worked, only thing is i cant see anything because my graphics card is not supported. I have looked online and found some posts regarding this issue but half of them start talking in another language or do not really have a solution. I even read one about plugging in another monitor and seeing if that works but I want to be able to use my laptop screen in the end. What my question is, is there a way to fix this issue without the use of another monitor? Or even if i did get it to work with another monitor, do I just install the kext for the GT 540m or would I need to modify it to make it compatible with my laptop? Kinda lost and would love some direction from you pros Thanks for your time!
  13. iAtkos l2 first boot extremely slow...

Okay that makes sense. So yesterday I tried to do what .lostandstupid suggested (loading in to safe mode using the -x boot flag) and it worked! it was fast and normal like. So once I get to the desktop, what do I want to do? I understand I want to troubleshoot and find out what is causing the lag however I am completely new to Mac OS. Or should I change the spotlight settings from preferences first as stated above?
  14. iAtkos l2 first boot extremely slow...

Thanks for being so kind! =) I don't think i can get to preferences because I can't get to the desktop at all. It gets slow after i install mac os and it reboots. The first screen that comes us is welcome pick your language then pick your location, then keyboard, etc. etc and to get through those three steps takes about 30 minutes. Every time i click the rainbow spinner comes on and then then i have to click continue again because it didnt register the click before. Seems to me it does a lot of thinking for nothing haha
