  1. Has anyone done any iPhone development on a hackintosh? Any limitations? ~S
  2. Can't connect to my Windows shares

I was putting smb in front of it. If you look at my first link: The guy had a bad symlink with ext2.fs. Well I found one with afps.fs. Removing it, and rebooting allowed me to try your suggestion... it worked. So the rule is is, if you get he "The text entered does not appear to be a valid URL", make sure to search your /System/Library/Filesystems folder for dangling links. Thanks for the help dakine, once I got over this hurdle your suggestion worked. BTW, is there anyway to have an NFS computer show up in the sidebar? Currently I just mounted it, and then put a link to the folder in the side bar. Thanks, ~S
  3. Can't connect to my Windows shares

No matter what URL I enter into that dialog, I get an error saying that the url is an invalid format. it seems to be a known bug with leopard: see here: http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/showthrea...0501&page=2 and here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=307256 Neither of those solutions worked for me. I tried deleting the ext3.fs, which did not help, then I tried deleting the whole URLMounter directory, which did not help. So I have no way to test your theory, until I fix this problem! I installed from zephs rev 2 disk. I am temped to just wipe it, and reinstall with the rev 1 disk. As with that disk, I could connect to windows shares. ~S
  4. Can't connect to my Windows shares

I am having this problem too.
  5. 7100 GS verus 7300 GS

I have a MSI 7300 GS card which I can't get Dual Display working on. It seems that only a few have got dual displays working with this card, and I have not come across anyone using the MSI implementation that has it working. I have been offered a XFX 7100 GS card, on trade. I realize that my 7300 is a slightly better card, but I never play games anyways, I just wanted an pci-x card with dual head. 1.) WRT QE/CI will there be much performance difference between these two? 2.) Will I have any more luck getting dual monitor working on a 7100 GS? Thanks, ~S
  6. dvi or vga works, but not both 7300gs

Diabolik, When you got your 7300gs working, did you have any messages like this? Another thing to clear up... should I install your Natit dual, immediately have a clean install of 10.4.8 AMD, or should I install? Or is there something I should do first? I notice that your Natit does not have as many files as some other Natit's? Should this matter? Also, were you dual dvi, or dvi/vga combo? Because, when I plug in the second display, and hit detect, it doesn't seem to work. Like I said earlier, I can get either port working, but not at same time... Both of my monitors use the vga connecter. Do you think that the fact I am using a dvi/vga adapter is hurting me? I would think not, as the monitor with the adapter works fine, so long as it is the only one. Thanks for the help, ~S
  7. dvi or vga works, but not both 7300gs

Excuse my ignorance, but what do you mean? ~S
  8. Driver for nForce4 LAN

I hate redundancy too, but the nic really isn't work wasting your time. You can pick up a pci realtek 8139 nic for like $8 new. Don't fight it...
  9. dvi or vga works, but not both 7300gs

I have tried Natit, Natit Dual v.1 and v.2. I can get one display working. If both are plugged in, the vga one works, if I unplug the vga, the dvi screen works. Whichever screen is working, QE/CI both work. I just can't seem to get both working at the same time: if I do a 'grep 10de *.kext/Contents/Info.plist' in the Extensions folder, I get this: AppleVIAATA.kext/Contents/Info.plist: <string>0x528810B9 0x31491106 0x00e310de 0x00ee10de</string> GeForce.kext/Contents/Info.plist: <string>0x01df10de</string> NVDANV40Hal.kext/Contents/Info.plist: <string>0x01df10de</string> NVDAResman.kext/Contents/Info.plist: <string>0x01df10de</string> Natit.kext/Contents/Info.plist: <string>0x01df10de</string> This is the relevant output of dmesg: pci10de,36a: family specific matching fails pci10de,369: family specific matching fails Matching service count = 11 NVDANV40HAL loaded and registered. display: family specific matching fails display: family specific matching fails NVDA::probe(display) Natit: Starting. 10. Natit new development version with ATI and nVidia dual screen

Ok, Back up and running. Just tried the 1.0 universal installer. This is what I get from profiler: GeForce 7300 GS: Chipset Model: GeForce 7300 GS Type: Display Bus: PCIe VRAM (Total): 256 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x01df Revision ID: 0x00a1 Displays: Display: Resolution: 1024 x 768 Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Not Supported Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported Display: This is my dmesg: display: family specific matching fails Natit: Starting. And I am back to the "Login Window Application Started" text, and hangs. No mouse, no black nor blue screen. Just text.
  11. Natit new development version with ATI and nVidia dual screen

Just the text. During the uninstall, I borked something, so now I can't boot to GUI even without the Natit stuff. I am in the middle of clean re-install. So it will be an hour or so before I can actually test any suggestions. I just read here (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=47783) that proteo had his eVGA version of this card (7300GS) work out of the box with Natit 1.0, I am assuming that means without editing any Info.plist files. So it seems odd that my MSI version of the card doesn't work. All the ID's seem to be the same. ~S
  12. Natit new development version with ATI and nVidia dual screen

Diabolik: I have an MSI 7300GS PCIe card, and dual vga/LCD's (one is on a DVI->VGA adapter). I copied Diabolik's three kext's and rebooted. I don't think I should have to edit the Info.plist files, as my devid 0x1fd already shows up in the GeForce.kext. During the boot, After the Natit: messages, I get a few messages saying: kextd_watch_volumes: couldn't setup diskarb sessions, diskarb not ready, try again soon. Then IOKitWaitQuiet() timed out Directory service: Launched version 2.1 Login Window Application Started And then everything just hanges there. I am on 10.4.8/8.8.1/AMD. I should mention that I can't even get Natit or Titan to work on a single display. Though without them, I do at least get a gui, no kext loaded, no QE/CI, dual monitor. Any suggestions?
  13. Driver for nForce4 LAN

I have an MSI k9n board, and I get the same message regarding the onboard lan: 0x10DE:0x0373 known not to work... Yet according to osx86 wiki's HCL for 10.4.8, it appears that some people have it working. Is there something else I should be trying? I am using the AMD dvd, which came with forcedeth. Is there a newer version of forcedeth I could try? ~S
  14. I don't want onboard graphics. I do want sata2, audio, lan, usb, firewire, (basically everything) to work, out of the box. As far as ox86 is concerned, and using a Pentium D, will a 975 m/b have much performance increase over a 945 m/b? 945 over 915? Now what if I change that Pentium D to a Core 2? I don't think the 915 supports core2... What chipsets do the mac mini's have? What about the Mac Pro's? Thanks, ~S
  15. I'll think about it. I am still interested in thoughts on my proposed setup. Also, does anyone know if both cores are recognized with the Pentium D line? Thanks, ~S ps - thanks for the bump.
