  1. Thanks a lot JaS!!!! I have just updated my new laptop XPS M1530 to 10.5.3 without major problems using JaS OSx86 10.5.3 Combo Update (demonoid). Before update, everything was working OK (except of course the well known problems with shut down/restart and sound, that required the "sleep" method for working). After JaS update method, GFX came out perfect without CI/QE problems (but maybe with not as good performance as before with 10.5.2; have to check). I had to re-enable sound and Power management (thanks to Sonotone installer) and keyboard layout (with the spanish layout from macgirl). I tried to make a Gfx string for the 8600m GT, but I have failed (and I already have some experience doing it with my desktops). On the other hand, I managed to make a Gfx string for audio and it works. Previously I had always problems and had to "sleep" the laptop to recover it. Now I always get sound (or at least, I have been really lucky). CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 (2.5GHz/6MB Cache) MEMORY: 4GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz DISPLAY: WXGA+ 15.4 (1440x900) & 2MP Camera VIDEO: 256MB DDR2 NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT HDD: 320GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive WIRELESS: Dell 1505 TrueMobile/Broadcom AUDIO: Sigmatel HD 2.0 -- 9228 (in windows it appears as 9225?) 3. @yeye The old copy of IONetworkingFamily.kext that solved my TM issues was this one. I used it in one Desktop, not in M1530 laptop, so I am not sure if it will work for you (and for me this weekend). Best luck... http://rapidshare.com/files/118860900/IONetworkingFamily.kext.rar.html Sietepicos
  4. Hi, I have solved problems with Time Machine in my Desktops (see signature). First, CI/QE was required for launching the program, so it did not work until I recovered CI/QE (thanks to Sonotone installer!!!). Then, I had errors generating backups due to problems with selecting the partition. I finally solved it going back to an oldmodified copy of IONetworkingFamily.kext. I am now waiting for a backup to finish. This weekend I will update my XPS M1530 to 10.5.3 and I will tell you how it worked.
  5. Hi Cristian, I have checked my webcam (XPS M1530) in windows and in Hackintosh and it is really crappy. Instead of getting around 30 fps it only yields 6-7 fps when light is not extremely good. I tried some incorporated webcams from acer laptops and they are quite better. I also checked one on an 1330 and it looked much better, but probably because it was with much more light. I don't know if the camera is the same in both models. We are not the only ones having this problems with the webcam, just look around in google. Sietepicos
  6. I have not yet updated my new XPS 1530 (still on 10.5.2. vanilla kernel), but I have had problems after installing 10.5.3 in my other Hackintosh not only with CI/QE (hope to solve it thanks to macgirl's advice) but also with TIME MACHINE as reported by yeye. Macgirl, have you checked Time Machine? Does it work normally for you? I tried reinstalling IONetworkingFamily.kext, but no luck... Sietepicos
  7. I have updated without major problems to 10.5.3, but I had problems with CI/QE (that I will try to solve recovering/reinstalling all Geforce* and NV* kexts) and with audio (no problem to recover). The main problem I have now is that TIME MACHINE is not working after the update. I recovered my IONetworkingFamily.kext and reinstalled, but still not working. No more people is having this problem? Best regards! Sietepicos
  8. Muchas gracias macgirl. ¿Qué haríamos sin ti? Sietepicos
  9. Thanks a lot sonotone. I have just buyed a XPS1530 and this will be really handy. Thanks also to macgirl and Superhai for their incredible efforts to have us all happy with our Dells. Best regards from Madrid. Sietepicos
  10. Hi, No luck with ASUS p5K premiun Wifi with AD1988B. Kext loaded sucessfully, but no more info. Thanks Taruga for your great efforts and patience. Sietepicos
  11. @Reptar Thanks for your reply. I asked about WiFi as several people with Asus MoBo claim that it is working (even with p5W DH Deluxe). BTW, I did not experience problems any shutdown problems with AppleHDA and WiFi while I had WiFi "activated". Best regards Sietepicos
  12. Hi to all, and thanks for this wonderful and interesting thread! I have installed ToH RC2 Leo release without problems and fixed sound with Taruga's ALC882 kext. Everything is working fine including Time machine with the exception of RTL8187 WiFi. I have installed the drivers from Realtek and I am able to detect several routers (including mine-USR9108). However, I have not been able to connect to the router even after trying the different security options (or without security). Can anyone explain me how to make it work (I have tried also the IONetworkingFamily.kext from "mckill.ca"). I have a minor additional problem. I have an Ellipse 1500 UPS connected via USB to the computer; it is recognized by Leopard but there is no "reading" of the percentage of battery charge. I am quite sure that after a fresh install of Leo it was working, but it is not working any longer. Any ideas (it works flawlessly in Windows Vista, so it is not a hardware malfunction). Thanks a lot in advance. Sietepicos
  13. Hi Kaspers, The guide is not available. Gone, deleted or not loaded yet? I'm really interested in your guide. Thanks in advance. Sietepicos
