Upgrade to Mojave

Hi Help please.. I am currently using a HP8200 i5 2400 but it is setup as: iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011) 3.09 GHz Intel Core i5 So I cannot update it to Mojave is there away of changing the type so that I can upgrade without breaking (messages and FaceTime) everything that is working. Thank you
2. Hi there, I was reading a post you had a few years back, about an HP 8200 blinking cursor after reboot while trying to install Os x. I am having the same problem. Did you find a way around it?

I am stuck. I partitioned my hdd in Guid mode as the forums said but when I run ##### and select everything accordingly I cannot boot from the hdd. Only with the usb. After bios, I see a blinking cursor. I tried both UEFI and legacy mode. Nothing.

My system is Hp 8200 ssh, i5 2400, 250gb hdd, MSI GT710 1024mb graphics card.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

thanks!

Hi

Sorry just seen your message. Have you installed Clover to the HD to boot from it?

Wake Reason

Thank you, will give that a go. I have a USB key so that I use to wake, can I not use that as opposed to the power?

Wake Reason

Sorry to keep bothering you. I am using the DSDT you created for me which is here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/330523-dsdt-firewire/ But the issues started around the 1st of Jan, so well before I put your DSDT in. Thank you again for your time.

DSDT & Firewire

Thank you Sir, The amended DSDT work a charm with the sleep. Not had a chance to see if it would pick up the firewire hd if it is switched off when I turn the hack on. Will try and give it a go at the weekend.

Wake Reason

Hi Over the last month of so I have been getting random wakes with the following message: 2018-01-18 18:20:38.203849+0000 localhost kernel[0]: (AppleACPIPlatform) Wake reason: GBE1 EH02 Any idea why this has started to happen? I don't think I have changed anything. Thank you

DSDT & Firewire

Sorry for the late reply, I have tried adding the amended dsdt into the clover patched folder and the machine would not sleep. I then tried adding the FireWire fix to the dsdt that was in the normal (non patched folder) and had the same issue so have given up for now. What I don't understand is how sleep works without a dsdt in the patched folder? I am sure I created one and put it in the patched folder when I installed OS X to get sleep working. Thank you for your help.

Dell Latitude Compatibility

Hi I had a d620 and that worked well apart from sleep, you will have to check what GPU and wifi card you have as if they are not the correct ones could cause issues. Also worth having a look as osxlatitude forum.

DSDT & Firewire

Hi I have a HP Elite 8200 running OSX Sierra, all works fine apart form FaceTime, messages and Sound, for which I use a USB DAC which works out of the box. Also the firewire card only works only on reboot. Once the machine goes to sleep on waking it I cannot connect to my firewire HD. Under about machine I can see: FireWire Bus: Maximum Speed: Up to 400 Mb/sec Also looking at my EFI > ACPI > Patched, I cannot see a DSDT file, however I know I had one created to get sleep working correctly. So, why does sleep still work if the DSDT is not in EFI > ACPI > Patched and what is the best way of getting the firewire card to work all the time. Thank you Sep

HP 8200 Elite

Hi What GPU are you using? I have not upgraded to El Capitan as I had issues when I did. Also what method did you use to create the installer? Thanks

Better Sound

Update Ordered one and must say very impressed. It was plug and play and can feel the sound difference.

Better Sound

Hi The sound on my hackintosh HP8200 does not work as it is not supported, I am using one of the cheap USB sound cards and am wondering if I will get better sound using one of these Behringer UCA202 U-Control Ultra low-latency 2 In/2 Out USB/Audio Interface https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B000KW2YEI/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1462655655&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=behringer+uca202 I have read they work out of the box, but not sure if any uses them or have used them. Thanks
