  1. [Fixed] Ghost display on MSI R5770 Hawk in Lion

I'd like to use the unmodified kext, I'm wondering what kind of DSDT editing you had to do to get it to work without the modified kext.
  2. [Fixed] Ghost display on MSI R5770 Hawk in Lion

K, so I booted up with graphicsenabler=no. It only detected the 1 display, of course I tried DVD player and it crashed. So I used your Kext for 10.7.3, set the options in boot.plist and rebooted. Everything was perfect. Thanks a lot. Hehe, edited to stop the alot from coming around.

Well my problem currently is that it thinks this VGA display is my primary, so all I'm getting on my only monitor is the "extended" part of the desktop. I can't do anything with it. I'm hoping that if I boot to the Lion Install disc, use terminal to replace the boot.plist with one that has graphicsenabler=no, that I'll at least be able to boot up and then try to fix the ghost display.
  4. [Fixed] Ghost display on MSI R5770 Hawk in Lion

Hi, I've got the Ghost VGA on my system. This is with a Radeon 5850 which has HDMI, Display Port and DVI. Monitor's connected through HDMI. I'm currently booting with GraphicsEnabler=yes I'm wondering if I should try GraphicsEnabler=no to see if it's detect the correct ports, and if programs like DVD player don't crash, then leave it. If that fails, I understand if I replace the Kext and add AtiConfig=Eulemur it should pick up the right ports? Also, how do I know which personality it's using by default without specifying one?
  5. Looks to me like it's trying to load kext's for hardware you don't have, namely the Nvidia stuff
  6. Here's the modified DSDT, SMBIOS, and Boot.plist lion_files.rar
  7. DV6-6090xx Mac OS X Lion Install Disc

It's not a bootable disc image, there's no bootloader on it. Follow his instructions for putting it on usb and installing chamelion to usb.
  8. I'm having the same problem and I'm willing to test. Anyone have any ideas?
  9. I need to patch my AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement. But I'm really confused by this thread. Is 10.7.3 patched fully for 32bit and 64bit? Edit: nm, I got it.
  10. DV6-6090xx Mac OS X Lion Install Disc

Just went to get Speedstepper to work it's confusing me, could someone break it down for me?
  11. I got it sorted, turned out I just needed to modify my DSDT to be able to take advantage of the higher res screen in my laptop. I'm posting from it now.
  12. DV6-6090xx Mac OS X Lion Install Disc

Thanks, I actually got it, I just installed the AppleHDA.kext. I also had a problem with the Ethernet. Even though I installed the Realtek kext, System Information was showing that the driver for my device wasn't installed. It seems that even though I had the same NIC, it's somehow different on this system. I had to download the latest version from lnx2mac. I'm posting from it now and everything's good. Just a couple more usability tweaks. As far as iCloud, I read it won't work when using a self compiled kernel. So since we're using one compiled by appleworm, I think iCloud is a no go.
  13. DV6-6090xx Mac OS X Lion Install Disc

Yep, I had to edit the DSDT.aml to be able to take advantage of the higher res screen. Only 1 thing I need help with. I have no sound.
  14. DV6-6090xx Mac OS X Lion Install Disc

Hey, I ran across this thread on the DV6 and it looks to be exactly what I'm looking for to get going on OSX86. I've downloaded the disc image, restored it to a USB and installed Chamelion. When I try to boot it, I get a garbled screen. This is right after the initial grey one with the apple logo and the spinning status indicator. I was wondering if you might help me out. Here's a picture. So I've got a DV6-6100 Quad Edition i7-2720QM Intel HD3000 ATI Radeon 6770M 2Gb 1920x1080 LCD 4Gb DDR3 I can control the mouse cursor, it won't go past the edge into the black. It's almost like it doesn't know how to control the LCD. I dunno even where to start. Here's a picture.
  15. Hi, hopeful new osx86 user here. I've gotten so far as to get the Combo Update 10.6.8 installed. But when I go to boot up, it gives me the apple logo and then where it should go to the desktop, I get a black screen instead. Now not a Kernel Panic, it looks like it actually loads, just no video. Here are my system specs and what I've done. HP DV6-6100 i7-2720QM w/Intel HD Graphics 3000 8 Gb DDR3 Radeon HD6770M 2Gb I used i Boot Legacy with flag PCIRootUID=1 to run the 10.6 Retail Installer. It installed just fine. Rebooted using i Boot Legacy without flags and got to run through the setup. Afterwards is where the problem lies. It's a Sandy Bridge system so I'm running UpdateHelper. Then rebooting using i BootLegacy, again without flags. Ran the 10.6.8 Combo Update. DID NOT REBOOT. Installed 10.6.8 Legacy Kernel. Ran ####### and Installed ########. Then I rebooted. That's where the issue happens. If I run with the -v flag, everything seems normal, and where it's supposed to kick to the Desktop, It just goes black I've tried all combinations of boot flags I can think of -x pcirootid=1 npci=0x2000 graphicsenabler=no cpus=1 I can boot to safe mode, but I cannot do anything with keyboard or trackpad. Anyone have any ideas?
