  1. Vanilla Speedstep on EVGA X58 SLI

Hello Everyone I have an EVGA x58 SLI board and I would like to enable native speedstep. however anytime I remove nullcpupower.....kext I get a KP. I am running 10.6.4 chameleon rc5 BIOS is set up as listed in post # 1 with the diff. that its verion 73 of the bios Any thoughts on how I can remove nullcpupower without causing KP? thanks
  2. EVGA x58 SLI

hello all Are you able to boot without Null cpu kext? That is the only way to get native power management. If you still have that kext your not running native power management. If so can upload your dsdt and related ssdt files ? thanks
  3. Maj Reimaged one of my evga i7 sli machines over the weekend and noticed that the About this mac dialog now shows "Quad-Core Intel Xeon" I attempted to use the option in the script to set it to i7 920 but no luck. Runing 10.6.2 any thoughts on this ? Thanks
  4. MAJ here is a LegacyHDA whats should be used in EVGA x58 SLI Mobo the one in your script doesnt work.Use the one I attached in /Extra/Extension and rebuild mkext using kext utility 2.3.2 note you will need to patch your dsdt.aml with the following and should have stock applehda.kext in /S/L/E "codec-id", Buffer (0x04) { 0x89, 0x08, 0xEC, 0x10 }, "layout-id", Buffer (0x04) { 0x79, 0x03, 0x00, 0x00 Confirmed working on both of my mobo's and few people in forums. EVGA_x58_SL_LegacyHDA.kext.zip
  5. for you EVGA x58 SLI fans you can use this appleHDA along with a patch dsdt.aml (with audio patch) to get audio to work. back up your stock appleHDA in /S/L/E and install this one. bad news is its only 32 bit AppleHDA.kext.zip
  6. [Guide] Dell Latitude D630/D830

Hello All ok So I have a Dell 630 with Quadro NVS 135M. I was able to install and boot (retail snow leopard image) Chameleon RC3. The only problem is the graphics are lagging and slow. I tried NATIT and NVKUSH both result in the same issue. I can adjust the res fine but the overall performance is slow. It looks like I dont have QE/CI enabled. (in 10.6 there is no way to get that in profile.) I tested removing NVKUSH and NATIT and using EFI gfx string and that did not work. Anyone else having the same issue? thanks
  7. good happy to see it worked out for you
  8. read the post carefully getting the card to work is not the issue people. the issue is the random pink and purple lines and graphics crash he even provided the screen picture. I know you can get this card to work without efi string
  9. wrong card good try we are talking about the 9800 GTX+
  10. When they say upgraded drivers from EVGA site they only have windows drivers for this card so for our issue only option is to flash , I could be wrong but this is what I see. Thanks
  11. I had the same problem with my evga 9800 GTX+ it has to do with power management. many people have the same issue. there is a link on the EVGA forum to flash the bios on the graphics card and fixed my issues. with the 9800 GTX+ here is the link http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=100456...e=1&key= This corrected my problem my screen would display the same way after running graphic intensive apps if you are doing also. BTW with this card and leopard or snow leopard you dont need NVKush.kext all you need to do it generate the gfx string and add it to you com.apple.boot.plist good luck Let us know how you make out with that
  12. EVGA x58 Installation Guide

Jae-V couple questions: 1st any luck with sleep/wake? 2nd If you have netflix account can you try to stream Watch it now video I am getting a DRM error in Snow.
  13. Hunter It worked for me also. I see all the input outputs I had before in 10.5.7. I will try my 5.1 config later. and report back. With this working correctly If we just change the current aapleHDA like the way tmongkol patched the 1.5.7a24 it should work also. no ? I appreciate all the hard work everyone does in this forum to help other out.
  14. seems like the download likes are down all 3 sites. can you post the file in the forum ? thanks
