  1. Thank you for tanking time to look into it. Graphics card should support at least quartz extreme as the startup of final cut checks for it's enabling and I managed to make the graphics card to be recognised. So Final Cut starts up and performs some operation of loading. Then it crashes. I don't know if it supports Core Image or if it need to be anbled. Final cut doesn't request it explicitly. I am looking into this as I don't know nothing about it. My configuration on notebook Acer Aspire 5720G. mmm actually I reinstalled iAtkos, same version, but with enablers of the graphics card. Final cut doesn't crash anymore. Don't know, maybe I messed up with some drivers. In fact in the previews installation I used xDarwin nVidia Installer. Maybe that didn't help.
  2. Hello, I installed Final Cut Express 4 on iatkos s3 v2 (Snow Leopard). When I start FC, it crashes after some loading, with the following message and error log: "Final Cut Express quit unexpectedly" Thank you log fc.txt
  3. iAtkos v7 on aspire 5720g, Final Cut, issues

Trying nawcom's tomorrow, I gave up with iatkos
  4. iAtkos v7 on aspire 5720g, Final Cut, issues

Ok this is what I expected. I know Leopard sounds strange; I'm trying to build up an environment which is similar to the one my girlfriend has at university. You may wonder: what kind of university is that? well, I'm from Italy, and this should be clarifier The same concept stands for Final Cut which is an old and obsolete version, but appears to be the standard widespread down here. At this moment I am still with my installation of iAtkos. Still uncertain about what to do. It has problems with drivers, and I am trying to solve this. I suppose I will have exactly the same problems with another version of Mac OS. USB now is fine. I Installed iwifi for the wireless card but kernel panics and now I am trying to remove it. Always getting "permission denied" tough.
  5. iAtkos v7 on aspire 5720g, Final Cut, issues

Thank you. I couldn't in fact resolve the problems in time. But well...it's past now. I am considering the way you suggested. My point is trying to make final cut (preferably express 4.0) work on whatever mac os similar to leopard, on my pc. Doesn't modCD/modUSB bring all these problems with drivers? Because I couldn't find discussions on compatibility between nawcom's and my acer aspire 5720g.
  6. Hello! please forgive me, I maybe could resolve these issues by myself in 5 days(as this is my first approach to mac OS) by seraching around. However, I have an exam in 5 days and I am getting this pain to help my girlfriend: she is in very bad mood. A brief report done with pc wizard: <<< System Summary >>> > Platform : Intel Centrino > Mainboard : Acer Nettiling > Chipset : Intel GM965 > Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile T5250 @ 1500MHz > Physical Memory : 2048MB (2 x 1024 DDR2-SDRAM ) > Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS > Hard Disk : Seagate ST9160821AS ATA Device (160GB) > Hard Disk : Seagate ST350082 0AS (500GB) > DVD-Rom Drive : CLIX GD2Z8LIZ4L2N > CD-Rom Drive : PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K17RS ATA Device > Monitor Type : N154I2-L05 - 15 inches > Network Card : Broadcom NetLink BCM5787M Gigabit Ethernet PCIe > Network Card : Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection As the title says, I managed to install iAtkos v7 on a partition of my C disk using, in addition to those selected by default, the following options (as I read it here http://www.insanelym...howtopic=175650): Extras DSDT Kernel 9.5.0 Disabler Voodoo PS/2 USB AHCI Intel SATA/IDE OHR Speedstep Voodoo HDA Audio Driver Reboot fix I then used windows 7 dvd to recover windows boot record and EasyBCD 2.0 beta to add the Mac OS entry to the boot list. Leopard works quite fluently but has some problems i'd like to resolve primarly: 1-Cannot (or at least I do not know how to) connect to internet with the wireless card or through ethernet. 2-Cannot (or at least I do not know how to) use usb hubs. Wireless mouse works good tough. But once I insert a usb pen, nothing happens. I cannot find anything relating to usb ports in the finder. Without connectivity, I cannot get files on Leopard easily. 3-I tried installing Final cut 4.0 express (I hope it is possible to make it work decently, but I have some doubts) but at install time, I can only install LiveType, whilst Final cut is grayed out and marked as "skip". I trashed all files within the Library/receipts folder; I only left the folders. This didn't help. Installing Final Cut is my first priority at the moment. 4-when I move a floating window, sometimes they leave a trail backwards. Obviously, we cannot afford a Mac at this time, nor we do know if we'll need one in the future. Will be eternally greatful for any help.
