  1. The card is plug and play, and I didn't need any special method to get it to work. However, I've been reading up on Apple's requirements for Handoff and I'm wondering if I have a problem. My SMBIOS and serial number clearly define a MacPro5,1 machine type from 2012, but About This Mac is showing me that it's a Mac Pro (Mid 2010). The only Mac Pro that officially supports Handoff is the newest, black cylinder one. I think I may try to reconfigure my SMBIOS information and try again, possibility as a MacPro6,1 or iMac14,1 or 2.
  2. I have my system completely setup with Clover 3259, Yosemite 10.10.5 and completed the entirety of the iMessage guide. My injected ROM values are correct and do not change. My hardware specs: • Asus Maximus VI Gene • Intel 4670K, not overclocked • Asus GTX 670 2GB • Apple BCM94360CD iCloud works no problem and all my data syncs to my iPhone 6. Perfect! iMessage allows me to sign in and it recognizes my phone number. However, I'm not able to send messages and all contacts appear in red. If I turn on Text Message Forwarding, it's still not perfect. Contacts only appear in green and any message people send to me do not receive on my computer, just my iPhone. Handoff works fine if I transfer from my iPhone to my computer, but not the other way around. For instance, if I start an email on my computer, the icons for Handoff don't even show up on my iPhone. I've verified that all my devices appear under my iCloud/AppleID account on the website. There are no duplicate devices listed anywhere. The WiFi/BT card appears to work perfectly, never dropping signal to the internet. Bluetooth connectivity works perfectly with my PlayStation 4 controller. Things I've already tried to fix this behaviour: • Removing the plist and cache files from my ~/Library folders • Completely signing out and back in to my iCloud and iMessage accounts on my iPhone and computer • Turning Handoff, Text Message Forwarding, and Bluetooth Sharing off and on again I'm beginning to think that this is an iMessage server authentication issue than anything else, strictly affecting my computer. But I'd rather not call Apple about it until I've exhausted my other options.

(sorry for this double post) I have audio working, thanks to Mirone. As far as I know, everything on the board is working 100%, including sleep and power management functions. This board is actually very compatible with 10.8.5. I'm working on an installation guide that I will be posting soon.

Works with the Maximus VI Gene! Thank you Mirone! You are the best!

I don't have audio working yet, but Mirone has been creating a modified AppleHDA.kext with a method to install. I don't think anyone with an Asus Maximus board has actually tried it yet. I plan to install it, but I'm extremely busy. Wifi works, but only because I'm using an official Apple Wifi card (Atheros AR5BXB92.) I'm using a separate PCIE to mPCIE adapter to make it work. I have ordered a different card (Atheros AR9280 AR5BH92) to plug into the combo card that comes with the motherboard. It should be compatible. I'll be posting a guide on how to install 10.8.5 or Mavericks as soon as I can get everything working stable.

I'll be testing the bare minimum of kexts/configuration that are needed today. I usually delete AppleTyMCE since I do use a Mac Pro definition. SupremeFX III is a rebranded ALC1150, so it should be compatible with some amount of work.

I solved my problem with the timers. I downloaded and extracted a file called "boot" from the Chameleon 2.2 r2262 installer using Pacifist. I then copied "boot" it to the root of my hard drive. Running the the actual Chameleon installer did not work for me. I was able to copy the boot file to the myHack USB installer and have it work there too! The hard drive detection problem I mentioned above is gone. My CPU is finally detected as a Core i5 @ 3.42GHz, which is correct. Still experimenting with getting audio working. VoodooHDA doesn't seem to be working, but I'm not far into my testing. I may need to create and patch a DSDT, but I'm not sure. Might need to just patch AppleHDA. I believe I still need NullCPUPowerManagement.kext. I will do some testing with and without it. I used a MacPro5,1 SMBIOS definition without any trouble. No idea if that's OK or if that will change when I remove NullCPU... USB3 working right out of the box. All ports are working 100%! I can even install OSX from a USB3 port without any problems.

I'm having trouble installing many of my devices. I was able to get my LAN working by installing IntelE1000e.kext. VoodooHDA 2.8.4 doesn't work at all for sound. I also cannot see any other hard drive that's plugged into my motherboard, even after installing 3rdPartySATA. Still having a major problem with the timers. edit: USB3 ports working out of the box, no kexts or edits required.

Not much luck yet. The lastest versions of Chimera and Chameleon won't boot on my system. I don't know why. Only the version of Chameleon bundled with myHack is working. I can create the installer for Mavericks and 10.8.5 no problem and even install them to my system. However, I have the fast timer problem. And updating the bootloader causes my system not to boot. Catch 22! Edit: I've been reading this thread about the Asus Z87-Deluxe and have a few ideas to try out. Making sure the BIOS is fully updated and check out MBR support.

Am I doing something wrong? I tried to install the latest version of Chameleon from this site using the packaged installer. It says it was installed successfully, however the USB drive becomes no longer bootable. The same happens when installed to my SSD. This also happens with the latest version of Chimera. Edit: tested with Mavericks and a 10.8.5 installer.

    Maximus VI Gene issues

I'm aware that Haswell support is sketchy right now (especially for Asus boards), but that didn't stop me! I went ahead and built a new rig anyways. The main guts: Maximus VI Gene Core i7-4670K Asus GTX 670 16GB RAM I had no problems creating a 10.9 DP4 installer using myHack and installing to my SSD. The only flag I initially required was "GraphicsEnabler=No" since the GTX 670 is natively supported. After installation, I ran into two problems. First: I require the use of the USB drive for booting, even after installing myHack to my SSD. I can't boot without using -x. Secondly: Animations and timers are WAY too fast. The spinning gear at boot up spins at something like 500FPS and many other things like progress bars are also similarly as fast. The timer that appears on the shutdown menu counts down from 60s to 0 in about 12 seconds. It makes inputting characters from my keyboard almost impossible. It's like running at light speed or something. This problem occurs in the installer also, which leads me to believe it's a BIOS or possibly a kext issue. I tried applying the DP7 update yesterday, though it didn't solve anything. I'm wondering if anyone had a clue what was going on here.

After a week of testing, things are fantastic. I did some testing without the modified ATi kext, but still specifying the ports and framebuffer in Chameleon. I only use one monitor, so I wasn't able to test multi-display, but my original issues are gone. The flashing problem vanished and a long-standing issue with screen sharing to this computer causing frequent kernel panicks is gone as well. My system is stable as humanly possible now. Thank you

I really appreciate you helping me with this. Your kext and boot flags seems to be working! Obviously, I haven't tested it for an extended period of time, but I was expecting the issue to occur this morning when I used the computer and it didn't happen. I will test again when I get home for lunch. I understand the change in framebuffer, but what were the changes you made to the kext? Is the kext needed to run that framebuffer on this card? Edit: Also worth mentioning, Unigine Heaven benchmarks the card at the same score as the original kext and framebuffer.

No edits at all to make anything on this card work. It was pretty much out of the box working for me (installed using 10.7.3 app.)
