  1. Hello, I've just upgraded "successfully" to 10.8 but I now have a problem that I didn't have in Lion 10.7.4... this insanely long delay in the final stages of booting. I can see the Desktop and the system seems totally ready for action, BUT, the mouse pointer doesn't move at all and the keyboard is totally the same. I've read on some other forums online that it's believed to be a USB related problem and goes back to Snow Leopard on some machines. I've tried many combos and suggestions from several places but still haven't been able to get rid of this annoying issue (grrrr!). Any ideas or pointers would be dearly appreciated. Thanks guys. ----- Motherboard: ASUS P8H67-M PRO Processor: Core i5 2300 GPU: Nvidia EN210 Silent
  2. Atheros 9285 kext for ML

p.H. Could you please explain with more detail how we can apply this hack to the DSDT file? I'm using the Atheros9285 kext on ML (and it works) but I've always read that it's much better to use DSDT files and avoid kexts if it can be done with DSDT. Thanks.
  3. Desktop unresponsive for several minutes at boot

Hello, I've got the same problem and it seems that it's not just the two of us. I've searched other sites/forums and nobody seems to have found a solution to this very annoying issue. I'm on 10.8.2 ML but before, on 10.7.4, I didn't have this problem at all! I'm still looking for a solution somewhere in the hackintosh community. Has anybody here on insanelymac found a solution or has any insight? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated Thanks.
  4. Realtek ALC892 hissing sound -- OS X Lion

Finally found a solution for the problem.
  5. Hi guys! This is the installation method I followed for my ASUS motherboard, taken from the excellent OSx86 Wiki (http://wiki.osx86pro....php/HCL_10.7.2) Using iATKOS L2: Crimera 1.7 VoodooHDA Ev0reboot Mac App Store, iCloud, Facetime WORK with EthernetBuiltin in smbios ( I used MacPro3,1) Graphic Enabler Lnx2Mac's RealtekRTL81xx Ethernet Select AHCI and set in Bios AHCI Mode FakeSMC The guide recommends installing the VoodooHDA driver but, since I was given several versions at installation time, I chose them all. I don't remember but I think the versions were 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, ... and so on. So, now system sound effects are working but I can hardly hear them over the general hissing and constant noise when I insert my headphones in the front audio jack (green). I've tried other "output" sound options from the system preferences and they seem to work, but the unpleasant noise just won't go away. I don't know what could be wrong. Has anyone encountered a similar problem and has solved it? My audio is REALTEK ALC892. Thanks guys.
