    XServe G5 front panel pinout

Dude, I never thought of this. I would love to try this project too. Currently I'm working on gutting an eMac but this is definitely on the list! I meant to say that I'll offer whatever I can find on this.

Really interested. Just picked up 2 more G5 cases and cannot wait to get into them.

G5 to ATX Front I/O Cables

Wish you would respond to my PMs Aloha. Anyway, so a few posts up I mentioned that I wasn't getting any audio out of my front jack. I did multiple kext things but still came up empty handed. What this told me was that it could not be software based. I followed this thread from tonymac http://www.tonymacx8...hp?f=16&t=26486 and when I installed that kext I was able to see "Headphones" in my system prefs>sound. I also found a G5 mod on a blog by celso martinho http://arrifana.org/...osh-2/#comments who made his own front panel cable. He experienced audio issues as well and when I noticed his plug, it looked different than Aloha's. Try and stay with me, I'm describing this in layman's terms. The plug that fits into the motherboard for audio has cables at holes 2,5,9 and 10. Celso's cable has 2,5,9 but a cable running from 7 TO 10. I ordered some wires/connectors from polulu and was able to make this connection myself. I removed the #10 female cable and replaced it with 2 females ( 7 to 10), installed it and then did the kext modification and BOOM! I now have audio. I have a Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 mobo, if that means anything. This is the photo that I used for reference. I also did much checking in my gigabyte manual. Hope this helps.

G5 to ATX Front I/O Cables

Cables arrived but I'm also getting no sound out of the front jack. Rather desperate since I did no cuts and the audio ports on my back are concealed. Working on some kext stuff.

Eager for this to arrive. My dining room table has been a mess for far too long now.

Help to remove cd&Hdd cage tray

The big issue here is dealing with the locking/latch mechanism. The little black clips and the little metal ring will be nightmares if you aren't careful. Keep these in a safe spot! Also, make sure you don't lose the washer that is on the first nut nearest the latch. Check out nikkokick's link, I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.
  8. Hey guys, just broke this piece in my build and I'm looking for a replacement. Hopefully the price is reasonable. I live in Canada but would pay for postage worldwide. Please send me a PM if this sounds alright. Thanks.
  9. I've begun this project as well but plan on making no cuts to the exterior of the case. I can have some pictures up in the next few days. I have two more things left to do: find somewhere to mount th HDD cage and modify th original fan to work with the new PSU.
