  3. Yes I do but I cant seem to turn it on... The hardware switch doesnt seem to turn it on either...
  4. Excellent. Combo update has installed and is working fine For some reason it has added the AirPort icon in the menu bar...
  5. Should I use a Combo update or should I update incrementally? 10.6.1 - 10.6.2 - etc

  7. PookyMacMan: Thanks to you the sound is now working Is there anyway to get the ethernet card working? Also what about the USB?
  8. Excellent It worked! I had to uninstall it but it worked!! Unforunatly now I dont have sound... Is there anyway I can get it working? Also USB doesn't seem to work... From memory it worked in safe mode... EDIT: Ok got the sound working by installing an older version of VoodooHDA.kext.. No network unfortunatly...

  10. OK. Its installing but the only thing is that it identifes my Processor model but not the speed that it runs at correctly. It still says 800mhz... Hmm installation failed... It seems that my drive may be failing.. I have had the machine for abour 5 years now... I have tried my external usb dvd drive but it loads the boot cd then i switch it with the Mac OSX install disc and it starts well and then I get a message saying: "Still waiting for root device" Any ideas? EDIT: Ok I have got it to install but I can only sucessfully boot into safe mode... This is the error I get:

  12. Yes there is one HDD. I understand completely and have tried again after formatting my flash drive. Yes I have put it on the root of the drive. I unziped it using 7-zip. I cant seem to get it to work... In the initial part of booting up the Install dvd, amogst the messages I see: "No SMBIOS replacement found"
  13. Interestingly enough it says the same thing... Any ideas?
  14. OK to me this doesn't seem right... See the attached system profile log and also I have attached a log file for you to look at.   15. Cool thanks. I will try it now and let you know how I get on. Thanks again! Ah unfortunatly it didn't work. I was sure to make sure I typed everything in without any mistakes... Any other ideas?
