  1. Acer Aspire V3 771G 9809

Alright, thanks for the help. I'll be using the guide from here mixed in with some help from the other threads about the similar model laptop. Other than that, if anyone has anything to say, to help, go ahead.
  2. Acer Aspire V3 771G 9809

The guide seems to require an already functional OS X install to work....which I lack. Otherwise, I wouldn't have posted because I had already read that guide (while tired, it's late where I'm at, sorry if I misread)
  3. Acer Aspire V3 771G 9809

Hello, I would like some (specific) help and instructions on the proper process / trial and error methods to install any version of OS X on my laptop. It is an Acer Aspire V3 771G 9809 with i7 Ivy Bridge 3632QM (HD Graphics 4000) Nvidia GeForce GT 650M (Optimus driven, not expecting it to work soon or ever) (If other specs are important, I can post, but if I recall, these are the important things to look at when hackintoshing) Now, I'm very computer savvy, but I'm simple lacking resources and experience trying this. I'm planning on using a second hard drive to try the installs on (as to not ruin my windows HDD) and playing around some. I was hoping some experts could give me some info on - What version to install - How to get that version (vanilla disc, boot disc, etc.) - Special processes to use - Anything that could help I've read in some other threads with similar enough specs that it is doable (mostly) and I'm just wanting some reassurance. To my knowledge, it seems that I can essentially attempt to install Mountain Lion from scratch from a vanilla install disc, boot into safemode, remove and install some kexts as mention in (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/284392-acer-v3-771g-mountain-lion/) and finally, have enough working to show off that my laptop is running OS X without an apple anywhere on the case! Anyways, thanks for all the help and guidance, sorry if I left out some information.
  4. Recommended Build?

I don't know much about hackintoshing, but I do know my way around computers and windows very well. I'm no n00b, but I would like some help picking a build. I have a hp pavilion a6110n desktop I would like to put mac on. It has: AMD Athlon x2 4400+ nForce 430 chipset (I believe) nVidia GeForce 8400 GS Generic Most Everything else I have tried Leo4All and had problems with "still waiting for root device" and couldn't get any rd=diskXsX combinations to work. Any ideas or recommendations?
  5. HP Pavilion G7

Hey, try out Nawcom's boot cd with a retail disc of OSx 10.6.3. Worked for me on a similar laptop (G7 117-3dx) and everything went well other than the fact that I couldn't find a driver for a few things.
  6. Help me Choose Distro!

I got it installed and everything, but I still have a few issues. I can't get built in eithernet to work, wifi (although I know how to fix this) or proper graphic resolution to work. Could either of you reccommend somewhere to get drivers/kexts for an ATI Raedon 4250? I figure that I can find a generic driver for the networking issues.
  7. Help me Choose Distro!

Alright, I am going to have a chance to try this in a bit, I'll look into the guides for any boot flags, etc. I need to know. Thanks a ton for the help man. Even if it doesn't work, you still tried to help me
  8. Help me Choose Distro!

Sorry, the only hackintoshing I've ever done is an Optiplex Gx270 with iatkos, and there was a step by step guide for it
  9. Help me Choose Distro!

I hate to bump my own thread in any forum...but I have some information and no one has posted back, so it's either an edit no one will see or a second post that may get me some attention. I have tried "some" build of Leo4all (not sure) and some iPC builds... Still can't get past the beginning...always get a kernel panic (or equivelent) when the install disc is trying to load the GUI. Any ideas?
  10. Help me Choose Distro!

Alright, to start off, I'm fine with any "somewhat" recent OSX build, it doesn't have to be 10.5. I have a laptop (not a good start ) that'd I've already tried a few builds on but none of them worked well enough to reach the installer. The laptop is a HP Pavilion G7 117-3dx with the following specs: 17" inch 1600x900 pixel screen AMD Phenom X2 Dual Core Processor at 2.6 GHz per core ATI Raedon HD 4250 Graphics Processor Synaptics Touchpad (generic) Sound is some integrated business I think...shouldn't be an issue. Can anyone reccomend me a build? I know this is by no means an ideal setup (as far as I can tell) but any help is greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, and my CPU supports SSE2 and SSE3.
