  2. hi there guys first of all i know this is possibly nothing you guys may be able to help me with, but if you don't ask you dont get as my mother used to say lol, right then i am trying to install a win 23 app using wine i have managed to install xcode and macports and installed wine fantastic this is what i have done so far.. configuered mac ports echo export PATH=/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:\$PATH$'\n'export MANPATH=/opt/local/man:\$MANPATH | sudo tee -a /etc/profile export PATH=/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:$PATH export MANPATH=/opt/local/man:$MANPATH checked 64 bit if [ `sysctl -n hw.cpu64bit_capable` -eq 1 ] ; then echo "+universal" | sudo tee -a /opt/local/etc/macports/variants.conf; else echo "not 64bit capable"; fi then ran this to install wine sudo port install wine once i had completed that i decided to create a folder on my desktop and named it CISCO, then copied the 32 bit .exe in to the folder once that was done, through terminal i went to the folder cd Desktop/cisco and i can see my file PacketTracer533_setup_no_tutorials.exe so from there i ran the follwing command to install the application wine PacketTracer533_setup_no_tutorials.exe this took a few moments and the wine window started and the installer launched and i saved it to c:/Program Program Files/Cisco (default location) when i came to run this application i ran this cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/ an then tried to run it with wine Cisco Packet Tracer 5.3.3 then i was confronted with this error Dynamic session lookup supported but failed: launchd did not provide a socket path, verify that org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist is loaded! wine: cannot find L"C:\\windows\\system32\\Cisco.exe" i did look on thier site on the dbus error and when i ran this launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchAgents/org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist i was returned with "Nothing Found" if anybody can help with with this i would appriciate it as i have treid to reinstall this a few times now can can not :-( worst still i can not remove the said application now cheers for any advice
  3. yep like i said it was using the 10.5.8 seatbelt.kext it was all working fine until the updates i checked that by opening a .dmg normally if the seatbelt is wrong it will crash but alas it never ( i have fixed it now used time machine to restore) but it would be nice to know what it was so if i encounter it again what to check ;-)
  4. and here is another one :-( this one is different looks like its the network card this time :-s
  5. just had another crash took a photo again to see if its the same error yes they are the same error :-( here is
  6. hi guys i updated the java from yesterdays updates from apple and today i seem to be getting random kernel dumps and crashes might even bee the flash i don't know here is a copy of the screen dump of the last one it might even be the flash any help on this one really appreciated i have leopard 10.5.8 on AMD with the 9.8.0 kernel.. thanks :-)
  7. ok here is the thing, i have an macbook pro here and its been busted for some time, the GPU solder needs adjusting or something along them lines so its off for repair, so as i can not see anything from either the screen or the DVi slot on the side i can't seem to run the computer But i can connect it to my other mac using the old Target mode. now the thing is i need to reset the password as i have so forgotten what it was Yeah its been that long and i have been to bed since then lol so what i am asking is this! is there a way to reset the password of that os x from my broken mac while that disk is in target mode? thanks for any answers i know it should be feasible but you never know if you don't ask :-)
  8. hi there guys i need a bit of help/ advice am scratching my head on this one i decided to have a little project to get snow leopard working on my AMD machine.. Spec: Mobo: Asus A8v Deluxe Chipset Via VT8237 sound: AC97 Nic: Marvell (I normally use the skge kext for leopard) GFX: Gforce 6100 128mb Processor: AMD 4000 Ram: 3gb : HDD:1) Maxtor 320 gig (with leo installed) 2) Maxtor 160 GB (Sata- USB converter connection) so i decided to follow the example on getting snow to work on the old pc by using this example http://www.insanelymac.com/2009/09/install...-pc-hackintosh/ before i go anywhere i must explain i have hone one sata port on this board as the other one fell off a long time ago so i am using a Sata - USB converter to get it working and it mounts the Drive perfectly. i deceied to use the MBR method as i can change the sata ACHI settings as there are none to change ... and i know that leopard worked that way on a previous attempt. so i formatted the partition with MBR and named it Sn0w went to terminal sudo -s chown 0:0 /Volumes/Snow then opened my snow leo installer disk and then used the showallfiles fix to show me all the files. copied the MBR version of OSInstaller.mpkg to the snow leo disk and ran the new installer OSInstaller.mpkg and choose the Sn0w disk to install the disk to removing printers and languages.. one that completed i installed the Chameleon-2-1.0-r640.pkg to the Sn0w drive and then deledted the current Boot file and copied the BOOT file that came with the package to the root of Sn0w. ran the DSDT on the Sn0w drive it reports it failed.. selecting OSX and apply DSDT Ticked and selected to Sn0w HDD copied the match_kernel.test7 over (do i delete the other one?) Copied the FakeSMC.kext, PlatformUUID.kext, Openhaltrestart.kext, NullCPUPowerManagement.kext and any other kets i had AppleVIAATA.kext and skge.kext did as it said copied the extras folder over and applied to kext utility and copied back inc the Extension.mkext then ran and older version of EFI studio to generate the code needed for the GFX and added the line <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1280×1024×32 </string> <key>device-properties</key> <string> Alphanumeric code you generated with EFiStudio </string> then saved the plist file to Sn0w/Extra/Extensions did the SMbios thing with the UUID and also added that to the PlatformUUID.kext saved those all went well until i turned off switched the sata drives over so that the main drive is the 160 gig one rather than the 320 and booted up the computer i was then greeted with this Boot0: done Boot1: /boot so i am assuming that its saying that it can't boot disk 1 i think i need change the boot disk to 0 am i correct? and how do i do this? or i if i have missed something please can you explain any help on this is really appreciated tim :-)
  9. is that Intel only or AMD as well?
  10. now here is the thing i brought me a new graphics tablet and was all excited got home read the manual connected it installed the drivers and then i get this... There is a problem with your tablet driver. Please reboot your system. If the problem persists please reinstall drivers. message, so as you do i went to the manufactures website and got all the drivers.. tried them no joy :-( so i thought i would try it on my windows set up and see what the issues might be could be a faulty unit after all and hey presto works like a dream.. so back to the MAC mmm *scratches head* so the set up i have is AMD 4000+ 3 gb ram G/F 6200 (agp) os X86 10.5.8 if i go into system profiler and look under the USB the CTH-461 (the version of the tablet i have) is listed there so is this purely a driver issue or my OSX version? i have treid every driver available to download and the one on the Disk that was supplied still i get the same issue i have tried other USB slots same issue ... pure madness any help appreciated as its annoying me now thanks :-)
