  1. Installing Mac OS X 10.8 on my new HP DV6T-7000

Yeah I did get the hybrid drive. I just gave up on trying, spent too many hours of reading around and searching and experimenting for nothing. So hopefully one day someone could get it working and we'll be happy haha
  2. hahaha I thought it was wrong and I looked around and don't know what I'm doing wrong with it. I think I'm just going to quit, this just isn't working with my computer
  3. Attached screenshot. I tried them both and still no I tried it on a 10.7 installer though, but would that make a difference?
  4. I have done this, but it is still not showing up. I used kext utility to install the kexts. And I tried adding the device id but maybe I did it wrong. Where exactly in the plist do I add my device id? My device manager says i have Intel Mobile Express Chipset SATA RAID Controller with ven_8086 and dev_282A. Is that what I'm supposed to look at?
  5. Well HP computer's bios doesn't have an option for enabling ahci. But from what I've read online they are by default set to AHCI mode. I believe I installed that kext correctly but to no avail.
  6. How do I go around finding what southbridge controller I'm using? And what exactly does that kext do? Sorry, I'm fairly new to all this.
  7. Hi, I've been trying to get mountain lion to install on my hard drive for a few days now and I've finally been able to get into the installer. But now I have the problem that my hard drive is not detected at all in disk utility. I'm trying to install it on the same disk I have Windows on. I have an ivy bridge i7, nvidia 650m, and a hybrid drive not sure which model. Any suggestions?
  8. Installing Mac OS X 10.8 on my new HP DV6T-7000

Hi shadyblue! I have the same laptop and I've been trying for days to get mountain lion dual booted. I first had it in vmware also with no success on vmware tools, but I've given up on that. And i also had a lot of trouble with the vmware recognizing my USB but i realized that it was because i had it in my USB 3.0 port and when i put it into the only 2.0 port it recognized But then came trying to actually install onto my hard drive. I used ###### and it took awhile to figure out the boot commands but it worked with "-v GraphicsEnabler=No cpus=1" without the quotes. And that all brings me to the biggest problem which I still can't figure out. When you finally get into the installer and get all excited. You go to Disk Utility and realize the installer doesn't detect your hard drive at all -___- so that is where I am. If you have any solutions that would be wonderful.
