1. I have the solution! (Big thanks to kyndder!!!) Why I had problem? Ralink, in their kext has not described my model of USB-WiFi. How I solved the issue. Simple block of text below fixed issue, and after restart I got connected. <key>SWEEXLW163</key> <dict> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>com.Ralink.driver.RT2870USBWirelessDriver</string> <key>IOClass</key> <string>RT2870USBWirelessDriver</string> <key>IOProviderClass</key> <string>IOUSBDevice</string> <key>idProduct</key> <integer>355</integer> <key>idVendor</key> <integer>6015</integer> </dict> What you need to do, - Steps. 1. Check in "System Profiler"[About This Mac -> More Info...] what is yours ProductId and VendorId. Mine was: Product ID: 0x0163 Vendor ID: 0x177f 2. Copy you kext to desktop twice(one will be for backup). 3. Open one of your kext's Info.plist file from desktop, and check it's structure. You need to find out how equipmet is defined in this file. In my case it was tree structure, where Device and Vendor Id's were in Decimal format, so before pasting I converted the values from HEX to decimal's. 4. Add you equipment to the Info.plist and save it. 5. Use any utility to install updated kext. I personally used Kext Utiliy. 6. Restart you machine with flags -v -f 7. If everything goes OK you will be able to open Ralink Wireless Utility and configure your profile. Without profile it will no work, Apple AirPort is not supported. 8. And the last, please post your experience, share your knowledge! P.S. If you have the same ProductId and Vendor Id I think you can try kext modified by me. RT2870USBWirelessDriver.kext.zip
2. Thank you newstar55a for your experience, but it seems to be too hard for me to edit properly my DSDT. I installed various kexts, so everything what I need is working. I have also installed Xcode 4.2 for Snow Leopard, so I try to do my first steps in iOS development
3. Most interesting, that it is normally identified in "System Profiler", but still does not work. Maybe I need to add some line to .plist, or edit DSDT?
4. My built-in Wifi is not enoght good, so I bought external USB adapter Sweex LW163. Installed drivers from Ralink official site, but it does not work. Tested in Win7, it is working fine. When I plug it in my Hackintosh Snow Leopard 10.6.8 nothing happens.(USB thumdrives are working fine.) Anybody has some ideas, same experience? P.S. Chip-set for my pain is RT3370.
5. Hi newstar55a! 1. Mine CPU is not Core 2 Duo, so as I understand Lion is now way.. 2. I saw that there is version of Xcode also for Snow Leopard, so I plan to try it. 3. DSDT building for me now is not so easy. What helped you to build DSDT successfully? Please share some useful links, books. Thank You
6. Next what I have done: 1. Update to 10.6.8 Ok 2. Started to build my own DSDT...
7. I continue to experiment. Next I am trying to do is to install Snow Leopard Retail unmodified version with the help of ##### + ##### way. 1. First problem what I faced after launching ##### 3.2.0 and Snow Leopard 10.6.7 Retail was error "start unable to initialize UIM". This can be cured with "USBBusFix=Yes" boot key. 2. Second problem for what I have not still found solution is error "mac os x can't be installed on this computer" what I get after language selection in installer. [RESOLVED]: Patched OSInstall does the job. *To copy patched files needed to activate "AppleShowAllFiles" function in Finder. Manual how to do it is located here. Successfully installed Snow Leopard 10.6.7 Retail, but still it is not usable 3. Third problem is keyboard. It is not identified... How do you think, if I will buy USB-Keyboard will it be recognized? *Why in ##### manual nothing was mentioned about this problem??? [RESOLVED]: I have bought USB-Keyboard. 4. Problem number four was screen "Create Your Account". After I have filled all details and clicked "Continue" window got hanged, no response for 5 minutes. After force restart, beautiful Snow Leopard screen was finally on by laptop's screen.
8. Got Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG to work with camphor driver. [used Kext Helper b7 to install all 3 kexts included in .zip] Of course there are some limitations: 1. Only not encypted networks are supported. 2. I think that G standart is not so stable as B on this driver. [on G speed was ~0.7Mb/s with rooter in mixed mode ~5Mb/s] 3. At all, connection is not 100% stable, so do not wait much from this trick. However it is great thing, thanks to camphor! P.S. Intel PRO/100 VE and USB sticks still are not recognized.
9. Mac OS x on HP Pavilion dv2000 (dv2106ea)

Hello. Got Snow Leopard installed with the help of imhack10 configuration.
10. Hello. Got Snow Leopard installed with the help of imhack10 configuration.
11. iamhack10 you are the GOD!!! Succesfully installed with parameters what you have mentioned. Specs of my HP Pavilion DV2106ea (dv2000): CPU: Intel Core Duo T2050 @ 1.60GHz / Instructions: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 RAM: 2GB DDR2 800Mhz Motherboard: Wistron 30B2 (U1) / BIOS vF.39 / Chipset: Intel i945GM / Southbridge Model: Intel 82801GHM (ICH7-M/U) Graphics: Mobile Intel® 945 Express Chipset Family Hard Drive: 117GB Seagate ST9120821AS ATA Device (SATA) Optical Drive: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4084N ATA Device Audio: Conexant High Definition Audio Peripherals: Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard with HP QLB / HID Keyboard Device / Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad / USB Video Device / Ricoh built-in card reader. Wired Network: Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection Wireless Network: Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection Main Operating System: MS Windows 7 32-bit SP1 I can not still understand this part: 1) iATKOS tool part is not working. I write kext name, select partition and hit "Ok", - nothing happens. After restart no changes. [update#1: I have removed AppleHPET.kext with Terminal, however after restart still no USB, no ETH. Permissions also tried to rebuild with Kext Utility.] [update#2:Logged in from Windows 7, downloaded your .zip. Restarted notebook, installed AppleHPET.kext and IOPCIFamily.kext. After restart, still no changes.] Still ethernet is not alive usb not recognized. 2) If ETH and USB will work why I need to install IOPCIFamily.kext and AppleHPET.kext? 3) What will I loose if I will not install DSDT, is it mandatory? Thank you very much! With your help it was super easy to launch Snow Leopard.
12. Hello, I have hp pavilion dv2000 notebook. Precise model is dv2106ea. Specifications of this notebook looks like that: CPU: Intel Core Duo T2050 @ 1.60GHz / Instructions: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 RAM: 2GB DDR2 800Mhz Motherboard: Wistron 30B2 (U1) / BIOS vF.39 / Chipset: Intel i945GM / Southbridge Model: Intel 82801GHM (ICH7-M/U) Graphics: Mobile Intel® 945 Express Chipset Family Hard Drive: 117GB Seagate ST9120821AS ATA Device (SATA) Optical Drive: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4084N ATA Device Audio: Conexant High Definition Audio Peripherals: Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard with HP QLB / HID Keyboard Device / Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad / USB Video Device / Ricoh built-in card reader. Wired Network: Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection Wireless Network: Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection Main Operating System: MS Windows 7 32-bit SP1 I am trying to install Mac OS X, because I want to try IPhone Development SDK Xcode. Today I tried to install iATKOS S3 v2, with minimal customisation during installation. I was not surprised, when Snow Leopard has not loaded in normal mode. After several attempts I got it launched only in safe mode, -v -x -f flags helped me to do so. If I try to load Snow Leopard with -v -f flags only, loading stops with text ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitForService(resoutceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out Any ideas how to boot Snow Leopard in normal mode?
13. Mac OS x on HP Pavilion dv2000 (dv2106ea)

Hi guys! Why you are so quite? Please share your ideas what is the best way to get latest possible Mac OS X on my laptop. I now started thinking about VMware, how do you think will it be better solution?
14. Hi dear insanelymac members. I have HP laptop which is marked as Pavilion dv2000, precise model id is dv2106ea. Specification is: CPU: Intel Core Duo T2050 @ 1.60GHz / Instructions: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 RAM: 2GB DDR2 800Mhz Motherboard: Wistron 30B2 (U1) / BIOS vF.39 / Chipset: Intel i945GM / Southbridge Model: Intel 82801GHM (ICH7-M/U) Graphics: Mobile Intel® 945 Express Chipset Family Hard Drive: 117GB Seagate ST9120821AS ATA Device (SATA) Optical Drive: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4084N ATA Device Audio: Conexant High Definition Audio Peripherals: Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard with HP QLB / HID Keyboard Device / Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad / USB Video Device / Ricoh built-in card reader. Wired Network: Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection Wireless Network: Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection Main Operating System: MS Windows 7 32-bit SP1 Please help me with distro selection, what will be the best for my spec's. You know I tried a lot of things, read a lot of threads. As of now my best result was "Safe Mode" with iDeneb v1.6. Of course I am interested in newer version of Mac OS X Snow Leo or Lion, but with those distros I had big problems. With iATKOS S3 I was not able to launch Mac OS X after installation, panic happened. Lion does not wanted to start installation. Thank You all in advance. Update 1. a) As I understand for my hardware configuration Vanilla Kernel is preferable. I have built in Intel 945GM graphics. Driver for Intel 950GMA works with 945GM without any problems.
