1. I don't have that option, just these Slider for turning display off at a certain time -prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off -put hard disks to sleep when possible -wake for ethernet network access - enable power nap (this one is disabled)
2. Specs : Mobo : MSI B85-G41 CPU : i74770k GPU : Nvidia gtx 960 4gb RAM : G-Skill 8GB PC1600 DDR3 So everything else works and I can get it to sleep but when I wake the machine up it completely reboots. when I log back in and look at my logs I get this Kernel panic, though sometimes its's a different cpu/thread. I did create a SSDT with ssdtPRGen but that has not helped any. I'm new at this so I'm just not sure what else to try. _____________________________________________________________ Anonymous UUID: 312FD050-FB42-E538-DE71-B49A6985E2C9 Sat Oct 29 16:40:45 2016 *** Panic Report *** panic(cpu 6 caller 0xffffff801ab701ae): initproc exited -- exit reason namespace 2 subcode 0x8 description: none uuid info: 0x10d39a000 uuid = <13a9466a-2576-3abb-ad9d-d6bc16439b8f> 0x100229000 uuid = <11c79c54-207d-3663-99a7-ef36dd62d768> Thread 2 crashed RAX: 0xffffffffc5b60c24, RBX: 0x000070000784a120, RCX: 0x000000003b9aca00, RDX: 0x00000000ffffffff RSP: 0x000070000784a080, RBP: 0x000070000784a080, RSI: 0x00007fffffe00050, RDI: 0x000070000784a120 R8: 0x0000000058153350, R9: 0x00007fd5dde85de0, R10: 0x00000000ffffffff, R11: 0xfffffffffde14720 R12: 0x000070000784a120, R13: 0x00007fffffe00050, R14: 0x0000000000001c71, R15: 0x000000010026290a RFL: 0x0000000000010a07, RIP: 0x00007fffa4d24613, CS: 0x000000000000002b, SS: 0x0000000000000023 Thread 0: 0xffffff803232e9a8 0x00007fffa4d24456 0x0000000100241e0d 0x00007fffa4bc7128 0x00007fffa4bddb97 0x00007fffa4bcfd41 0x00007fffa4bc8ee0 0x00007fffa4bc8cb7 0x00007fffa4e14736 0x00007fffa4e14211 0x0000000000000000 Thread 1: 0xffffff8032158be0 0x00007fffa4d2c27e 0x00007fffa4bd5337 0x0000000000000000 Thread 2: 0xffffff8037142028 0x00007fffa4d24613 0x0000000000000000 0x0000000000000000 Thread 3: 0xffffff80373e0288 0x00007fffa4d2c4e6 0x00007fffa4e14211 0x0000000000000000 Thread 4: 0xffffff8038f9a958 0x00007fffa4e14204 Thread 5: 0xffffff8037467000 0x00007fffa4e14204 Mac OS version: 16B2555 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 16.1.0: Thu Oct 13 21:26:57 PDT 2016; root:xnu-3789.21.3~60/RELEASE_X86_64 Kernel UUID: 8941AC1C-B084-37DE-8A34-4CE638C5CFC9 System model name: iMac14,2 (Mac-27ADBB7B4CEE8E61)
3. Well Now Im getting "Not loading kext ati4800controller" errors on boot up and after that its hanging on "NTFS Volume Name 3.1" This is after following the instructions in that package but substituting the netkas for the one current for my os version. Dont know what to do now. Oh well. *Sigh*
4. Thanks a lot I'll give it a shot. All else fails a buddy of mine said he has a 8800gt he can give me if I cant get this to work. Since theres native driver support for that specific card and it was used in retail apple machines maybe Ill have better luck with it if this fails.
5. Well I figured that since others have gotten it to work. I was just wondering specifically what kexts were used and the method of installation etc... I just did a fresh install and tried using ##### and the ati 48xx series injector and patches... still getting video mode not supported on the monitor. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
6. Anyone get this card to work at all?
7. Now its just "Video mode not supported" I've tried booting into safe mode with -x but it still says the same thing. even doing -v "graphics mode" for the resolution and refresh rate i want isnt working. I have no idea what to do at this point. If I had the money I'd just get a video card thats more compatable but I dont
8. Sorry I'm a very new at this and honestly dont know how to get what you said. Way over my head so I guess ill just give up. I've pretty much just followed step by step what everyone has said to get this card working in about 100 different posts on the internet and none of it has worked. Tried using graphics enabler then installing relevant Kext files along with the appropriate Qe/ci exotic patch for my os version then making sure my device id was properly put into My graphics plists like the legacyati4800 controller/atiradeonx2000 info.plist etc... Tried the patched framebuffers... even tried after all that to set resolution at boot and still cant get a picture. Only way I get one is with just graphics enabler on and nothing else. Been working at this for about 3 days. If anyone has a step by step for this particular card I'd really appreciate it. Also someone at some point had made EVOEnabler 4830 specifically for my card but all the links are dead and I cant track it down At this point no matter what I do I either just get a black screen/ A "Video mode not supported" message on my monitor or a mostly black screen with white artifacting and garbage.
9. I can get into OS X just fine and the os can see its a 4830... I just cant change my resolution to anything but 1024x768. Tried QE CI exotic/graphics enabler/ ati injection etc...but after that it boots and I just get a black screen and my monitor acts like its not connected. Im connected via vga if that makes a difference. My 4830 has 1 vga, DVI and HDMI port on the back. I also tried a different monitor via DVI and it just said "out of range" Nothing seems to be working and its driving me crazy.
10. "This will only work with 10.6.7 and below; if you have 10.6.8, again, you will need to patch your DVD. You can check the version on the left side of the disc" I'm going to try this tomorrow... I'm taking it that you simply mean it only works with the 10.6.7 and below install cd not that once installed I cant update to 10.6.8 and then on to Lion if I wish correct? Sorry for the dumb question, But thanks for the great tutorial
