    Works for me with the older kext, the newest one causes 100% cpu usage Edit.... All working now, changed the OptimizationMode value to '0'
  3. Yep mine causes random kernel panics too, very rare ones but it does do it Mines a Rev C So what other one would be best? i think i would prefer a PCI card rather than USB

    whoo hoooo!! it works !!! I did your installer first, then NVdarwin with 512mb option, and hey presto, QE/CI and my native resolution okay it says unknown card, but it works, i have been trying for weeks now Thank you very much 1.tiff

    I had tried the patches, many different ways too and nothing works i just get recognision in the system profiler, so i gave up today and bought some USB headphones for now, lol

    Yep done that, booted via Linux live cd, got the codec dump etc, applied with AppleHDAPatcher1.20, patched it etc and recognised it, rebooted still no sound whatsoever, i get this in system profiler: Intel High Definition Audio: Device ID: 0x1631E203 Audio ID: 12 Available Devices: Nothing in system prefs under sound. so i am pretty stuck as what to do

    in the same situation here, let me know if you get any joy ! i was thinking of any other method of getting sound , such as a USB sound device? not sure what kind of things are available. The original Harmon Kardon USB soundsticks are a pain to find for sale now which would be ideal.

    Hi everyone I have followed the steps on how to load the drivers for my ATI Radeon HD 2400 PCI-e Card on this part of the forum, and looking in the system/extensions folder i have no ATIRadeonX2000.kext in there at all. and i am unsure what to do next on how to sort it out, as the drivers have loaded but i don't have the kext to enter the device ID to get QE/CI.
