    965BE and a 5770

I'm wanting to install OS X on a spare 160GB HDD that I have, but every thread I find on it for my hardware gets sidetracked or just dies. I saw this thread: http://www.insanelym...age__mode__show And I'm thinking of following it but I just wanted to get other people's opinions first. I am aware that this is only for 10.6.7 and lower, so that's why I'm asking here. I'd really like to be running Mountain Lion, but if it's not yet possible then I suppose I can settle for 10.6/10.7,, I also need Optical (SPDIF) output to be working. Again, if it's not possible than I can deal with it but it's what I use for my speakers, so. Running 10.8.2 in VMWare on an AMD CPU

So I downloaded a copy of 10.8.2 and it's a VMware image. The problem is, when I open it, it says "The cpu has been disabled by guest operating system." Now there is a fix for this, but it doesn't seem to work at all. I've tried changing the VMK file too, but that didn't help at all. Any ideas?
  4. Alright, I have tried with countless distros, and I've never had any success. The one I thought would work would be the Nawcom 0.3.1 BootCD with Retail 10.6.3 as done in this guide: http://www.kexts.com/desktops/9746-guide-os-x-10-6-amd.html and a few other ones. Well, it's never worked. It'll get like 1/20 into the install (Picture Attached) and have the "Time Remaining: xxx minutes" (Sometimes it's 17, sometimes 27, sometimes 39, it always varies) And it'll sit there. I left it for about 8 hours once, still, just sat there. I have the HDD set to AHCI in BIOS. I've tried "-v cpus=1 maxmem=4096 busratio=19" I've tried changing the options in customize. Nothing seems to make it work. It's just frustrating, because I have bought DVD-DL and everything, just to make this work, and I've taken it as a challenge now. (Oh, and I know the disk is fine, because it worked in my dads laptop) Any help would be so great. Thankyou. Specs (from CPU-Z): http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2013713
  5. Hello everybody, this is my first post here Well, I was trying to install Mac on my custom build AMD gaming computer, but then decided to install it on my laptop instead. It's a Lenovo Thinkpad SL400. I first tried using Nawcomm 0.3.1 with the Retail OSX 10.6.3. That hung at about 9/10 done saying Time Remaining: 13 minutes. (I left it for 2 hours, no progress). So then I decided to try iAtkos S3 (I had the disk lying around). Success! It installed and told me to restart. When I did this though, it went back to the iAtkos boot screen (It obviously just booted from the disc again) So then I turned it off and ejected the disc. This time, it booted into windows. (Oh, by the way, I installed in on a WD My Passport USB 2.0 HDD) I went into the BIOS to boot from the Portable HDD... there's no option for it. When I press F12 to go to the boot menu, there's no option there either. So I'm stumped. I'm really good at computers.. I just have no idea what to do :s Any help would be great. Thankyou
