  1. Hello all, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but I am now the proud owner if 3 HackBooks and one Hackintosh desktop computers, I see all over the web and know how to make backups of osx to a usb drive, but cannot seem to find any information on how to make a fail safe backup on dvd-r disks. I have two acer travelmate 5720 laptops fully working and running leopard, windows and ubuntu, also one dell inspiron 1525 with snow leo, windows and ubuntu, and one dell demision 1100 desktop with leopard. :-D I have done some experiments using mounted dmg files, but not sure if that will work on dvd's and making the dvd bootable. dual layer dvd's are 8gig and a clean osx install is less that that! as for a backup of all three os's clonezilla will work great, but won't backup to dvd media! Thanks
  2. Hi all, I have a travelmate 5720 laptop running iDeneb 1.6 lite, 10.5.8. all has been working wonderfully for a good while now, until just recently the usb ports are not recognizing devices. It all started after I installed an isogear usb Bluetooth dongle(GBU421).. before when I connected my cell phone or ipod they would recognized quickly, now when I plug in something into the usb, the machine will not recognize it until I reboot leaving the device plugged in! I wont even charge my phone or ipod until the laptop is rebooted. I have tried leaving the bluetooth unplugged, but still nothing. also have tried restoring a backup of my kexts thinking I had a corrupt file. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Snow Leopard on Dell Studio 1555

Hey guys, I must say many thanks to this guide! I have this same laptop with the only difference is it has the dell 1397 wifi card installed. I currently have iDeneb 1.6 OS 10.5.8 lite installed. all is working except for the trackpad taping and it will not sleep. the screen will tur off when the lid is closed, but if I allow it to sleep the screen just freezes and I have to power off and on. I can live the trackpad no tap! but for a laptop it must be able to sleep! with this guide, will your's sleep? Many thanks again
  4. I have been searching the forum for installations on this particular machine, but I couldn't help but notice that there aren't that many posts on Gateway PC's all together. I currently have a Dell Dimension 1100 running ideneb 10.5.5 with stock system components, all is working well with no glitches or bugs ! I was hoping to perform an install on a Gateway E-2500D system all stock with the addition of an ATI video card and 1.5 gig of ram. I can post the components and chip sets if needed. Has anyone had any experience with this system or know another system it takes after? Like this Dell Dimension 1100 takes after the Dimension 3000!
