1. [N210] Snow Leopard

i used netinstaller as well same grafic different samsung GMA3150 and I also have 800 x 600 I thought this issue had not been resolved as the nearest thing was the 950 but 3150 seems to be a cut down from that and therin lay the problem. Please tell me if I'm wrong
2. NF 208 loads up straight away with Hazard distro webcam works Bluetooth works Trackpad without using Voodoo kext Add voodoo power for battery Card Reader works but is not recognised in System Profiler The WiFi will not and probably neverwork because it shares a module with Bluetooth, I cannot switch of Bluetooth but I reckon if I could then the WiFi would work. I tried everything I even wrote a new kext for the WiFi but it just does not get recognised ever. Sound is a problem Larsen Effect Not solved it on this the sound is ALC269 everything gets Larson effect(feedback through Mic) I have tried most solutions and modified kexts no luck I used Netinstaller 0.8 and this identifies the graphics correctly Intel 3150 but Res stuck @ 800x640 as no one has made drivers Marvel Yukon kext file for Samsung NF208/210 family and Dell M1530 Ok the easiest way to get this to work instead of replacing the whole kext of Apple Yukon 2 in the IONetworking Family is to go in and change the info.plist Your card in NF208/210 and maybe 310 is the same as well as Dell M1530In the Samsung models it sees your ethernet but will not connect this is due to the wrong card being recognised.Usually the Z model So add in your card : <key>Yukon-88E8040</key> <dict> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>com.apple.iokit.AppleYukon2</string> <key>EnableLowPwr</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>IOClass</key> <string>yukon2osx</string> <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> <string>0x435411ab</string> <key>IOProviderClass</key> <string>IOPCIDevice</string> <key>MACNumber</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>Model</key> <string>Yukon Gigabit Adapter 88E8040 Singleport Copper SA</string> <key>NetworkNumber</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>RxDeadman</key> <integer>0</integer> <key>RxRingGrowOnPause</key> <integer>10</integer> <key>RxRingSize</key> <integer>0</integer> <key>RxRingSize_100MBit</key> <integer>128</integer> <key>RxRingSize_10MBit</key> <integer>64</integer> <key>RxRingSize_GigaBit</key> <integer>256</integer> <key>TxRingSize</key> <integer>256</integer> <key>Vendor</key> <string>Marvell</string> </dict> After you add in this sometimes the card will be identified as the Y series or your 0 series both connect I guess it would be easy to delete the Z and Y but that's up to you.the string of the Y is <string>0x435A11ab</string> you can see how OSx makes mistakes the 4 and A being confused for one another! Copy Plist to desktop edit it replace original Dont close window, run Kext utility to repair permissions. Reboot As far as the sound goes I used a Voodoo Installer the one that gives Larsen effect it instals temproraily got rid of Larsen effect by simply plugging a jack into the extenal mic plug, also if you plug in a mic no feedback and it works i think its the mic being set to close to the trackpad, i'm no longer using voodoo trackpad kext as it is not required but am using voodoo power kext for battery
3. Well I can get iDeneb 1.3 (10.5.5) installed i had prob with 512mb Nvidia card buy 256 ATI oK choose the minimum amount of fixes patches drivers, just see if you get it loaded 1st. Set Bios to defaults then you have to reassign boot CD I got an install like that. with that distro, use the CPUS=1 fix or type it in before I don't know enough to give you more than that sorry
4. So we begin again: Now the fact is Poster NUM: 1 done a clean install with their boot disc and Retail SL So I thought to try out a few things, since it did not work for me. In XP setup under AHCI no HD detected under SATA OK so I tried that out with the iATKOS distro both times nothing no HD what they changed in their disc utility I dont know! Back to the original install instruction, so I tried both SATA & AHCI for the posters install same every time that screen of death, this is getting to be like Windows blue screens! Now poster 1 had a Nvidia card so I swapped out my ATI for a Nvidia same result death. I don't now if there was some other BIOS Setting that required changing he never said, I have mone at default settings. (Even as I type out this iDeneb has just seen my HD once again and doing the partition, that does not make sense why are these new distros iATKOS and HAZARD failing to detect HD's? using the correct AHCI setting.) So why does it not work for me and the HD I am using also came from a G5 so its mac certified. Now if any of those people who has success I even see Lion by XK3R installed please shed some light. Now do the 490's have two boards or was it just a bios update because there are 2 spec sheets from Dell one Global one Europe/UK UK: max supported 5100 Family xeon max 1066 FSB Global: Max supported Dual 5100 series 1333FSB & Quad 5300 series 1333FSB My config: 2 x Quad 2.33 GHz x 1333MHz FSB 2 x 2Gb Ram 667MHz Maxtor 250 Gb From G5 I have used ATI X1300 256mb & Geoforce 9600 512mb but only ok with x1300 iDeneb 10.5.5 loaded ok with geoforce and i installed the injector for 512mb from customize options but it got stuck on restart, so nvidia did not work for me Would really like to have SL or Lion All help appreciated. For starters you should take out some memory I read somewhere its maxxed out @ 4Gb on an install maybe even 2.
5. Just changed over CPU's All good recognised 2 Cpu x 2.33GHz all 8 Cores Memory all good too IDeneb does not give a lot of driver support options or an addition of bootloader either but it did install a lot faster. ATI X1300 Full range of resolution No Quartz support No DVDRW So that's iDeneb Ver;10.5.5 So still only on Leopard So used ##### installed Audio Universal Kext and ATI Injector reboot and get death stops " ATI CARD non Posted Non recoverable Error needs a reinstall!
6. got a 490 today so 2 x 2ghz, 4gb, ati card, 250 gig. tried using the 490 dl but my SL was no good, bad copy. so I tried Lion but it just crashed straight away. tried the Snow Leopard OSX86 10.6.6 SSE2/SSE3 Intel Only by Hazard but it cannot see my h/d<LI>so tried iAtkos 10.6.6 and same result, DU just cannot see the drive.<LI>BUT Ideneb 10.5.5 distro sees the HD and installs especially if i dont add any extras in the customisation, and it install and reboots just fine.<LI>had trouble seeing my CPU's properly but i reset everything in the BIOS and it sees 2 CPU 4 Cores, which is good cos I have 2 x quad cores ready to go in 2.33GHz.So it is nothing to do with what file system or partitioning is on the drive, because I am attempting the 10.6 disc again with my 10.5 taking up Partition 1. I'd really like to know how others got over that, or why these two distros cannot see the drives after all is'nt DU the same and just ripped from a legal disc? I had a look at smbios file you laid out and understand how to edit that and the info i will require to put in regarding CPU Memory etc I have been trying to do a netbook Samsung @ the same time and having similar results choosing the wrong drivers turning the mic into a Theramin that was weird, so i understand choosing the wrong driver can totally screw up an install. I've watched a lot of crappy youtube videos most of whom sail through an install if only i had found it that easy. i see someone has resolved the Broadcom ethernet issue, so i'm a bit tentative about kexts even bootloaders so far even hough i've usually clicked one of those only once has abootloader installed! i especially want to get a bootloader on the netbook as I have 3 partitions on that and I'm using the 3rd part for OSX but it will always be completely unbootable as is it will require a loader thats something i notice on those YT vids OSX always seems to be on Partit 1. also they never quite show you everything working. So any help tips etc much appreciated I will get a new SL tonight see if that helps. Not so worried about drivers with ##### it can be done post install. Thanks
