  1. Hi, I have a funny problem with Preview. Thumbnails do not display in the sidebar. Do you have the same problem or am I the only one? I was wondering if it may be that thumbnails are now rendered using QE/CI in a recent apple upgrade. config is: OSX 10.9.1 on latest vmware / vmware tools & vmsvga2 for mavericks. Thanks!
  2. Hi all, Thought I would let you know that standard upgrade OSX 10.8.3 --> 10.8.4 through appstore went without a glitch - didn't need to do or reinstall anything. Using VmWare player version 5.0.2 build-1031769 Cheers,
  3. Hi Zenith, Great work! Seems to work pretty well - and much better than the stock graphics from vmware-tools. Quick question though. In Mission Control view, the thumbnails are garbled (see screenshot attached), is this normal? Also, Launchpad doesn't work well compared to Lion, but I suppose this may be a QE/CI issue... Anyway. thanks!
  4. Hi, One thing I noticed is that LaunchPad is not working anymore: so slow that it is completely unusable. Can you confirm you have the same issue? Also, I'm curious about your audio settings. Thks,
  5. In .vmx file: config.version = "8" virtualHW.version = "9" But except if someone has solution to above mentioned problems, Workstation 8 is probably a better solution.
  6. Hi szr, I upgraded from VMWare Player 4 to 5.0. Had no problem with the unlocker. Also installed vmware-tools from Fusion 5 to be consistent. I found that performance was much worse and rolled back: - graphics are sluggish, whether with VMSvga2 or Gfx - sound was stuttering much worse, whether with hdaudio or ensoniq. Tried playing around with usual settings but did not manage to reach an acceptable state. My VM runs Lion 10.7.4. Looking forward to your results as-well.
  7. Hi Zenith, I tried to fallback as you suggested but that breaks the VM quite badly and I cannot boot :-(. Logs show failed dependencies in: AppleACPIButtons.kext and IOUSBHIDDriver.kext and (com.apple.stackshot[33]): Job appears to have crashed: Abort trap: 6 Thanks, and I really appreciate your help!
  8. Hi Zenith, My guest is using the USB emulation. If I connect a usb mouse directly to the virtual machine, it works without any problem though, so I'd say the problem is definitely with the virtual usb. Not too sure what to try next... This is quite an irritating issue!
  9. Hi. I have exactly the same problem with VMWare. I am using VMWare Player, and updated to 10.7.2. Since the update, the mouse lags in such a way that when you click you are actually clicking in a different place than where the pointer is. It's a bit difficult to describe, but will be very apparent if you try clicking on the desktop background and move your mouse around, you will see that the mouse pointer will be off from the selection square. Moving the mouse a little will sync it back in place. It's also very apparent when using hot corners. Anyway, tried to reinstall Darwin401 or Darwin500 VMWare tools as-well as latest VMSvga2 and it doesn't make any difference :-(
