    anVAL + iAtkos 7

Hi, I am trying to get iAtkos v7 to work with my netbook. I can install it using chamaleon 2 (the one with the disc), but that wont work correctly with my GFX card (no QE or fancy things),however in Snow Leopard (iAtkos S3) I was able to get my card working using the anVAL loader. I tried installing it in leopard, but after installing the kernel panics every time in: AppleEFINVRAM.kext and AppleEFIRUNTIME.kext I have been reading the forums looking for a solution, but I have no idea why it is not working. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Intel Classmate

Hi, I recently bought a Classmate Convertible PC (NL1), in case you have never heard of it, it is a tablet netbook. The specs are as follows: Processor Intel Atom N270 1.60GHz Memory 1GB DDR2-533 (1 DIMM) North bridge Intel 945GSE South bridge Intel ICH7M Graphics Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 Display 8.9" ITO touch screen with SWGA (1024x600) resolution and LED backlight Storage 4200RPM 60GB 1.8" Samsung SpinPoint ZIF Audio Stereo HD audio via Realtek ALC269 codec Expansion slots 1 SDHC Communications 802.11n Wi-Fi via Ralink RT3070 (USB) Input devices Water-resistant keyboard Touchpad with vertical scroll zone Camera 1.3-megapixel rotating webcam Dimensions 9.5" x 8.2" x 1.1" (241 x 209 x 28 mm) Weight 2.8 lbs (1.25 kg) Battery 4-cell Li-Ion 4800mAh I used iAtkos S3 DVD to install and pretty much everything is working, this is the configuration I used: Bootloader: Using anVAL bootloader (chamaleon doesn't work with this graphic card) BootOptions: 32bit, GraphicEnabler Kernel: mach_atom Sound: VoodooHDA SATA/IDE: Intel ICH VoodooPS2 Laptop Hardware: Battery, Card reader Video: GMA950 27AE Wireless: Ralink RT2870 Wired: Nothing, seems there is an official driver here: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downlo...p;GetDown=false But there are 2 things that I cant get them to work: Touchscreen and Screen rotation. Touchscreen I've tried with several drivers but I cant get them to see the panel. It turns out that pretty much any resistive touch panel uses a variation of the same drivers, and there are other people that report success with their touch screen. But so far, all I can get is the driver to recognize the click but not the position. Screen Rotation: I don't have the option in the display prefpane, and I have no idea how to force it or enable it. Can anybody help me to get these working? Thank you.

    dot A

Its quite easy: 1.-Open automator 2.-Go to Finder Actions 3.-Add a "Get Specified Items" action 4.-Add your DMG to the list 5.-Drag a "Mount Disk Image" Action below the first one 6.-Drag a "Launch Application" Action, open the list and choose other, locate the Frozen Throne app. 7.-Save it somewhere or add is at a plugin to finder (so you can right click and choose the action) The workflow should look like the attachment (with the dmg on the list)

    Transcode Long Movie

ok I found one real nice program called visual hub, it transcoded the movie in 45 minutes, it seems its based in ffmpeg, is there any free program that does the same? Last, if I transcode using a third party program, will iMovie use that file without transcoding it again? Thanks

Best bittorrent client for OS X?

I personally think that bitrocket its nice , however it seems to act weird on some cases, and I had low speeds, so I find rtorrent to be better, and the interface its a lot geekier

Best bittorrent client for OS X?

I am using Azureus right now, but I am planning on migrating to rtorrent. its a ncurses based client (so no fancy GUI, just old command line), its pretty fast and easy to use once you get used to it. The installation is a bit tricky since you'll need to use darwinports or fink (tried both and I think the darwinports installation is simpler). It is supposed to use less resources than any other client, however in practice I've seen azureus work pretty fast on mac, so it may be not as good as an option. Hard core users will find it cool

    Transcode Long Movie

Hi, Today I wanted to burn a movie to a dvd to play it on a normal DVD player, the movie its 2:37, iDVD wont let me burn it to a single layer dvd due to the space, however nero (in windows) lets you do that. I don't want to use windows to do the transcoding, neither use nero, is there any good OS X software that can handle the transcoding? (either free or pay) I've already looked and tried several, but most of them only shrink DVD images, and I have an AVI file (I don't want to convert to DVD9 first) Thanks.

    Adobe CREATIVE SUITE CS3 osx

Somebody suggested that you have to replace the file AppleSMBIOS.kext for an old version, I tried that and it fixed the problem (a bit), after using the patch you mentioned (the drag and drop) now the programs seem to work fine.
