  1. The Super Micro C7X58 is a single CPU board that supports Nehalems. I've been looking at this as a startingpoint for a possible MacPro "light" clone.

    GeForce 200 series support

Does this driver pkg contain updated drivers for the 9xxx series too?

    9800 GTX working in OSX86

There's been done some interesting work on getting the HD 4850 and HD 4870 working in Hackintoshes, but since this is experimental work, and the boards offered to the new imac and macpro differs in design from the retail boards on sale, I've been thinking on maybe going down the 9800 GTX route instead. 1. Will these cards support dual vga displays (I have two 21" CRT apple studio monitors, currently conncted using DVI->VGA adapters)? 2. What brand of 9800 GTX+ have the highest success rate? I have my eye on a BFG GeForce 9800 GTX+ OC. I have a setup consisting of a BadAxe2 (Leopard 10.5.6 vanilla/retail install), E6700 running at 3.2 GHz with 4 GB of PC 6400 RAM. Toughpower 850w PSU. Keep up the excellent work!

    Question regarding GeForce 9800 GTX+ 's

I have a couple of questions since my X1950XT are slowly dying. I'd prefer to have 1024 MB of memory if possible. I have a setup consisting of a BadAxe2 (Leopard 10.5.6 vanilla/retail install), E6700 running at 3.2 GHz with 4 GB of PC 6400 RAM. Toughpower 850w PSU. Thanks:)

A Simple Guide to the 4830/4850/4870/4870x2/4890

Will this solution support two (dual) non DVI monitors (using DVI -> VGA adapters)?

A Simple Guide to the 4830/4850/4870/4870x2/4890

Excellent work! I'm in the marked for a new graphics card since my Sapphire X1950XT are slowly dying on me (artifacts and instability). So this is a good news Will this method recognize cards with more memory than 512 MB?
  7. The case: I have the soundtrack from "Runaway Train" by Trevor Jones on vinyl, but the problem is that side "b" of the record are badly scratched , and on that side are the most haunting version of Vivaldi's Et In Terra Pax from Gloria ever recorded (The music used in the end scene). Do some sympathetic souls on this board have, or know someone who has, this soundtrack? If yes, would it be possible to send me a copy of this track (No. 11). PM me if some of you can help out. Thank you.
  8. I also noticed that the included AppleSMBios.kext crashed CS3. I kind of solved it. Downloaded the Intel 10.4.11 combo updater and installed it without any modifications. System Profiler now shows: Modellnavn: Mac Modellidentifiserer: (?) Prosessornavn: Intel Core 2 Duo Prosessorhastighet: 4 GHz (should be 3.33GHz) Antall prosessorer: 1 Antall kjerner totalt: 2 Nivå 2-buffer (per prosessor): 4 MB Hukommelse: 4 GB Busshastighet: 1.07 GHz (should be 1.33 GHz) Start-ROM-versjon: BX97520J.2797.2007 Memory info: CHAN A DIMM 0/J6H1: Størrelse: 1 GB Type: DDR2 SDRAM Hastighet: 533 MHz (shoud be 667 MHz) Status: OK CHAN A DIMM 1/J6H2: Størrelse: 1 GB Type: DDR2 SDRAM Hastighet: 533 MHz (shoud be 667 MHz) Status: OK CHAN B DIMM 0/J6J1: Størrelse: 1 GB Type: DDR2 SDRAM Hastighet: 533 MHz (shoud be 667 MHz) Status: OK CHAN B DIMM 1/J6J2: Størrelse: 1 GB Type: DDR2 SDRAM Hastighet: 533 MHz (shoud be 667 MHz) Status: OK This is probably only cosmetic, and CS3 with vanilla AppleSMBios.kext runs with no problems.
  9. What kext controlls the speedstep? Thanks.
  10. After installing pc_efi_v51 with the included AppleSMBIOS.kext, I upgraded from 10.4.10 to 10.4.11. The upgrade went fine, but Sysprofiler now reports a bus speed at 100 MHz (is 1.33 GHz) and no info on the installed memory (speed, kind, etc). My system: BadAxe2, E6700 (oc'ed to 3.33GHz), 4 GB of OCZ Memory. Here's what it says: Modellnavn: Mac Modellidentifiserer: Prosessornavn: Intel Core 2 Duo Prosessorhastighet: 3.33 GHz Antall prosessorer: 1 Antall kjerner totalt: 2 Nivå 2-buffer (per prosessor): 4 MB Hukommelse: 4 GB Busshastighet: 100 MHz As you can see the proc 's correctly recognized, but bus speed isn't. And no other info on the system. No Boot ROM version either. And under "Memory" nothing is found. Systemversjon: Mac OS X 10.4.11 (8S2167) Kernel-versjon: Darwin 8.11.1
  11. Thanks for the tip aqua-mac. The card is on back order here in Norway, and will be available in the beginning of September at around 90$.
  12. One can always count on aqua-mac to come up with elegant and original solutions . Cheers!
  13. Are there any working wireless n cards/adapters for Hackintosh? document.write(''); ?
  14. No big deal really, just a cosmetic thing .
  15. My C2D E6700 is reported to run at 4GHz, should be 2.66GHz. And I haven't overclocked anything. Loginwindow version is 4.6.6. Thanks.
