Hervé got a reaction from Andreuha10 in Problems to install macOS Catalina in Acer Aspire E1-572G
Indeed, your current setup need to be reviewed and Clover config requires several adjustments. Use Clover Configurator app to that effect:

    1) ACPI section:
you need to add the renaming of USB2 controllers to EH0x; it should be the renaming EHCx to EH0x that you need but you can always extract your ACPI tables to double check. you need to enable FixDarwin7 fix to obtain USB3 support in macOS 2) Devices section:
your i7-4500U integrates HD4400 iGPU. Mobile Haswell iGPUs are not natively supported in macOS so you need to fake desktop HD4600 iGPU id 8086:0412 in IntelGFX box. Lilu + WEG kexts will then do the needful. the properties you inject for iGPU device PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0) are incorrect for your Haswell mobile platform (wrong layout/ig-platform-id and wrong device id). Remove the entry, you'll add the properties relating to HDMI output later, as/if necessary. 3) Kernel & Kext Patches section:
you have a Haswell platform so patch for AppleIntelCPUPM is irrelevant, it's for Sandy Bridge & Ivy Bridge platforms. unless you encountered Lapic KP at boot time, you don't need Kernel LAPIC patch either. KernelPm + AppleRTC patches should be all you need. 4) Rt Variables section:
you need to disable SIP in order to be able to inject your add-on kexts. As such, enter 0x67 in CsrActiveConfig field click on the Generate button under ROM field copy the MLB value displayed in the middle black box to the MLB field above 5) System Parameters section:
click Generate New under Custom UUID field

    On the kexts side:
I do not believe you need XHCI_unsupported kext at all. USB3.0 controllers of standard Haswell platforms are normally natively supported as long as you inject Darwin (which the ACPI fix FixDarwin7 will do). I recommend you add Rehabman's kexts FakePCIID + FakePCIID_XHCIMux in order to gain USB2/USB3 multiplexing. you'll have to add Lilu PlugIn AppleALC if you want audio. Your Clover config injects layout #7 but this may need revisiting if it's not the correct one; it totally depends on your Realtek audio Codec and you've not specified which it was. Identify this as/if necessary.
Once your system is up and running, you'll proceed with more detailed fine tuning for items such as card readers, wireless, bluetooth or disabling of the unsupported AMD dGPU.

Hervé got a reaction from fantomas in Dell Inspiron N5110

It would seem you forgot that that Broadcom BCM43224 is subject of a whitelist within OS X/macOS. As such, you may need to adjust SMBIOS, patch the supporting kexts or, indeed, call on AirportBrcmFixup to use that card properly.

Congrats on upgrading to macOS Catalina pre-release beta 19A471t, especially now! Catalina was officially released in Oct 2019 (build 19A583) and is up to 10.15.3 as of Jan 2020...

Now you can start all over again.

Hervé got a reaction from kamii in Nvidia Web Driver updates for macOS High Sierra (UPDATE Jan 29, 2020)
Looking at your setup, your issue is not Web Driver related per sé but more of an incorrect Clover config/kexts arrangement. So thanks for taking your issue elsewhere and opening a separate thread in the relevant and appropriate section.

Hervé got a reaction from vendigo in How to enable SIP?
    SIP is enabled by default.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_Integrity_Protection

What we usually do for Hackintosh purposes is disable it in order to bypass some or all of macOS's default security features and allow necessary and/or desirable things such as loading/caching of (unsigned) add-on kexts or lifting of FileSystem protection (eg: /S/L/E in RW mode).

There is probably a ton of literature on the matter but here's an oldish FAQ topic I had started on SIP at OSXL to try and describe some of the basics for beginners:
    https://osxlatitude.com/forums/topic/11553-how-do-i-disable-sip-system-integrity-protection/?tab=comments#comment-90839

If you want to remove SIP disabling and return back to default SIP settings, simply leave the Clover fields empty in your Clover config:

Alternatively, set CsrActiveConfig to the desired value according to the protection flags you want to set. As an absolute minimum, you need to allow unsigned/untrusted kexts at some point. Temporarily until cache is rebuilt if you cache kexts from /L/E (or from /S/L/E if you've also lifted FileSystem protection) or permanently if you inject them from Clover. Hence why it's always recommended and/or desirable to cache kexts rather than inject them...

Clover basically handles the following flags through CsrActiveConfig:

A value of 0x67 means this:

In case you wonder what BooterConfig does, it controls this:

A value of 0x028 means this:

You may check if SIP is enabled through the following Terminal command or Software info in your SysProfiler:

You can normally expect it to work OOB. At worst, you'd need to tune the NVCAP parameter and inject a new value through Clover (or DSDT patching).

Hervé got a reaction from vendigo in OSsxAptioFix3Drv Error on first start
To enable trim on your SSD, you may use the following Terminal command:
sudo trimforce enable You may plug your Windows-SSD to your Hackintosh, it won't cause any damage. You'd only use the trim command on it if you made it part of your macOS installation and intended to write data on it, for instance through a new macOS partition on it. If it entirely destined to Windows, you'll only read it from macOS, so no need for trimming.

Contrary to (erroneous) popular belief, running OS X/macOS on a Hackintosh does not burn hardware, you can sleep safe and sound and reassure your neighbours, friends and family!

Hervé got a reaction from vendigo in OSsxAptioFix3Drv Error on first start
No, you can install High Sierra on an HFS formatted disk/partition. You just have to select the option NOT to convert your drive to APFS at installation time. It's APFS that had an issue with legacy HDDs, not High Sierra per sé.
  13. Thanks
Hervé got a reaction from vendigo in OSsxAptioFix3Drv Error on first start
i7-7700k is Kaby Lake for which there is no support in Sierra 10.12.1. I believe Kaby Lake support started at 10.12.6. You'd be well-advised to opt for High Sierra instead.

GeForce 1050Ti is Pascal, i.e. not natively supported; it requires the nVidia Web Driver. Before you ask: no support in Mojave (there's no Web Driver for that macOS version)...

You have a Broadcom BCM94360CD card, not a BCM4321 so, same as the Atheros patcher: not applicable.

BCM94360CD is fully supported in all recent and current macOS versions and works OOB without anything, any patch, any tricks. What's probably wrong is your Mojave build and that's what you need to concentrate on; in all likelyhood, your wireless is working, not your Bluetooth.

    Good luck.

Continuity Camera should work OOB if your BCM94360CD is properly and fully installed (i.e. Wireless + Bluetooth and both enabled). I have that same card in several of my Hackintosh laptops and just verified Continuity Camera Ok:
On Hack: Opened up Preview, went File -> Import from iPhone -> Take photo On iPhone: took picture and tapped "Use" -> picture imported into Preview on Hack.

The BCM part of that BCM94360CD means BroadCoM. It's even labelled at the back! So, no, it's not an Atheros card and , consequently, that installer is irrelevant and does not apply to you.

If you've not done it, you likely need to patch your USB controller to inject power properties.

Hervé got a reaction from MaLd0n in This version of macOS 10.15.2 cannot be installed on this computer.
You're not allowed to proceed because, support for HD3000 graphics having been dropped in Mojave, you have a platform that's not officially compatible with Mojave/Catalina and so is your SMBIOS. With the proper SMBIOS, you'd be able to download the latest macOS version.

Indeed, there are special tricks/patches available to support OpenGL-only (not Metal) graphics acceleration on HD3000 under Mojave and high Sierra (with minimal bugs or side effects) but these tend to get more complex after each new macOS release and they also require to be run after each update. During that interim time between the macOS update completion and the "re-patch", you may lose the ability to properly use your Hack and face great difficulty in running anything.

So, it's a free world and you do what you want but my advice is to stick to High Sierra. After all, HD3000 was buggy enough in all OS X/macOS versions after Yosemite to avoid getting it even more buggy for the sake of running the latest macOS...
