1st of all, you can forget about getting the RX580 working under Mountain Lion; you should have sussed that out by yourself by now...

It's going back a few years now but, if I remember well, Mountain Lion -like Lion- usually required to replace vanilla AppleACPIPlatform kext by version v1.3.6 from Snow Leopard. Well at least, on all those Dell desktops and laptops I installed it on.

Mojave only supports nVidia cards of the Kepler generation. Nothing before (Metal compatibility oblige) and nothing after (lack of Web Driver oblige).

There are several versions of the GT630, based on different nVidia generations so you'll have to identify which chip your card is based on (Fermi or Kepler).
    https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/?generation=GeForce+600&sort=generation

If you install the lspci package, the chip will be reported in the IOReg info reported by commands such as lspci -nn for instance. This version of the HP GeForce GT630 2GB is Kepler.

@navinmithu, off-topic; this thread is about getting 1st gen Intel HD working, not about installing High Sierra on your Arrandale laptop. Open up your own thread to avoid polluting this one.

Inevitable in the end... Call it a slower/softer death than what older GMA 950/X3100 or GeForce 7xxx experienced with Mountain Lion back in the days!

    +1 with Allan.

@Teress, topics such as these started back several years ago (like 2015 or 2016), so understand we don't need to revisit these kind of things on and on when there's absolutely nothing new to contribute. And it seems to be the case here: speculation, speculation, speculation. If all you want to do is gather interest and increase subscriptions to your YouTube channel, I can only suggest you find topics that are new to the Hackintosh scene, not rumble about old stuff and rumours.

Maybe you should turn to that Voldemort place where publicity usually gets a more favourable attention. But I'm sure you can exist with better things that re-heated or stale topics... Please, pretty please, don't post a video about EULA!

It's mentioned in previous pages: no native support for 1st gen Intel HD graphics since Mojave natively supports Intel graphics starting from Ivy Bridge HD4000. To gain support for 1st gen Intel HD graphics, you have to install kexts from a previous OS X/macOS version.

@Cavallo, yes you're totally off-topic and I don't even see the relevance of your post here. HD2000 (like Sandy Bridge Intel HD) is NOT supported under OS X/macOS. Please don't pollute this thread.

@MacPeet, as expected, no Sleep/Wake. Since 1st gen Intel HD is not supported under Mojave, High Sierra is the end of the road for systems running on those iGPUs. We've been there before with GMA950/X3100 or other nVidia GeForce 7xxx and Mountain Lion...

Hervé got a reaction from JayJayPG in Wifi/Ethernet Issues
As stated before, the vanilla Atheros40 kext from High Sierra (or any other previous OS X/macOS version to that effect) is useless for AR9565 cards. That card only sort of worked with a specially re-written Atheros kext alternative. Follows the link I previously posted and you'll get the the relevant InasanelyMac thread on the matter. Chunnan's latest kexts are somewhere in the middle of the thread.

If you want proper and fully working wireless, replace that AR9565 card by a fully supported card or USB dongle. And that's the end of it. By all means, you may insist on trying to get that AR9565 of yours to work but you'll only waste your time. A few minutes on Google should suffice to prove you the point...

Hervé got a reaction from JayJayPG in Wifi/Ethernet Issues
Bad idea. Those Atheros cards are hardly supported anyway and certainly not with the vanilla Atheros kext provided in previous OS X/macOS version. You're wasting your time...

Unless you really know what you're doing (and I have a feeling you don't), DO NOT start deleting any kexts from /S/L/E!

Hmm, seems you're experimenting with VirtualSMC rather than FakeSMC and using versions of Lilu + WEG that do not come from the usual Vit9696/acidanthera GitHub's repo where Lilu is up to v1.3.1 and WEG up to 1.2.6.

Where does your setup come from?

If you remove Lilu + WEG, you have to enable "inject nVidia" in your Clover config and possible add "nVidia Single" too.

Yup, GeForce GTX 660 is Kepler and will not need the Web Driver. All you would normally require to get it going and apply any fixes is to inject or cache latest Lilu + WEG kexts.

You've applied the patch incorrectly by injecting the properties to the PCIe bridge EXP2@1C,1, not to a new hardware device that needed to be defined. As such, the patch is ineffective. You can tell there was no specific device for the card since IOReg shows it listed directly under the PCIe bridge with its PCI ids. You have to inject properties under a declared ACPI device to which they relate; that's how it works.

Here's what you need to do under EXP2@1C,1:
    Device (EXP2)       {                 Name (_ADR, 0x001C0001)  // _ADR: Address [...] [...] [...]                 Method (_PRT, 0, NotSerialized)  // _PRT: PCI Routing Table                 {                     If (\GPIC)                     {                         Return (APRT)                     }                     Else                     {                         Return (LPRT)                     }                 } // Wireless card's properties injection starts here // ------------------------------------------------                 Device (ARPT)                 {                     Name (_ADR, Zero)                     Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized)  // _DSM: Device-Specific Method                     {                         Store (Package (0x0C)                         {                             "model",                             Buffer (0x1E)                             {                                 "Atheros AR5B97 b/g/n Wireless"                             },                             "device_type",                             Buffer (0x08)                             {                                 "AirPort"                             },                             "built-in",                             Buffer (One)                             {                                  0x00                                                                        },                             "name",                             Buffer (0x10)                             {                                 "AirPort Extreme"                             },                             "AAPL,slot-name",                             Buffer (0x09)                             {                                 "Internal"                             },                             "compatible",                             Buffer (0x0B)                             {                                 "pci168c,30"                             }                         }, Local0)                         DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0))                         Return (Local0)                     }                 } // ----------------------------------------------- // Wireless card's properties injection stops here             }
The card's properties will then be injected under this device called ARPT. You'll see it in IOReg will all the card's properties and you should also find the card to be fully operational.

Rest assured the LED behaviour will be the same with AR5B97, as with any other card. It's essential you verify the card's ids to ensure the card you have really is the stated model...

Yeah, sure. Once you've installed the GT710, you may boot with the 2 x following additional graphics parameters:
    Inject nVidia nVidia single
    Kepler cards are supported OOB.
