1. Thanks for the reply. I have tried as you said by having org.chameleon.boot.plist in /Extra. I then installed Chimera 1.5.4. When I rebooted, got the same boo0:error message. No luck . I have tried setting my MAC os x partition active as given in this thread but no luck again http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=22844
2. I have installed Lion successfully after two full days of hard work. I have full resolution, audio working . My special thanks to Kirky for the audio kext. Note: Delete AppleHDA.kext from S/L/E for audio to work. It took me 3 hours to figure this out. I still have few problems. I am unable to boot directly into my installed lion. I am getting boot0 error. I have to use the usb installer to boot from. I tried Chimera, Chameleon but nothing works. I deleted the boot file from the root and installed all the boot loaders but in vain. Please help. Thanks. Note: Having the com.apple.boot.plist in my /Extra gives me horizontal lines while booting and my Lion doesn't boot. Does this have anything to do with the boot loader?
3. Hey Guys, I successfully created my Lion boot usb drive and installed Lion to a partition on my external hard drive. However, when I boot into the installed Lion on my HD, I am getting Kernal panic which says Kernal Extensions in backtrace: com.apple.driver.AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement I tried with and without having the nullcpupowermanagement kext in the Lion usb drive(the one I used to install lion). In both cases, I get this KP when booting into installed Lion OSX. How do I resolve this KP? Thanks
4. I used kext wizard to rebuild the cache and repair permissions after I placed those three kexts in S/L/E. I thought that would work. I will try again with ##### or kext helper and let you know. Today, I was mostly busy trying to get lion to work :-). Thanks
5. Thanks Kirky. Wen1's solution didn't work for me. I copied the three kexts to S/L/E and used wen1's dsdt but the audio is still rumbling. Please let me know if you got the audio working in 10.6.8 using his kexts and dsdt. ps: I will try to upgrade to lion over the weekend if this doesn't work out. I already tried installing lion but when try to boot from usb drive, it says no operation system found. I copied PXHCD on to the drive but stil doesn't workl.
6. I have installed the vodoo HDA audio kext you gave here but sound doesn't work for me. I am on 10.6.8. All my IO devices are recognised in system preferences/audio. When I play a song, I just hearing some rumbling sound with some words from the song. Does this kext works only on Lion? Any solution for audio on 10.6.8.
7. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Its sandy bridge. I searched through google and found the attached package. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1536134 I installed it and now my processor is recognized. My problem is not to see my cpu name in the "about this mac" dialog box but to see an increase in speed. My mouse pointer is very slow when I use my track pad. Do you suggest any tweaks to increase the speed? (I am using chimera boot loader) Regarding the audio, I am still working on it. Yes, you are doing more than 90%. I really appreciate your efforts to help everyone. You are the real asset of this forum.
8. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Hey Maldon, I tried this DSDT in 10.6.8. It doesn't recognize my i7 processor and as a result the os is very slow. Even my audio doesn't work. I am completely new to dsdt. Please help.
9. Hi I installed 10.6.8 using this guide and now I see high resolution mac osx. Thank you. I have few problems. My audio doesn't work properly and the mouse pointer is very slow. I think my i7 processor is not properly recognized. In the about dialog, I see different processor speed every time I login and processor as unknown. Please suggest.
10. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Thanks very much Maldon. I will try this out and report if any problems .

12. [GUIDE] OSX Lion on non-GUID (works on final too)

I found out why my 8gb pen drive wasn't working. Its because it formatted as GUID partitioning scheme. I formatted it to MBR and now its working. I am stuck at the "Still waiting for the root device" issue. I have set AHCI mode in my bios.
13. [GUIDE] OSX Lion on non-GUID (works on final too)

Hi, I tried this method to each and every word. However, I am not able to boot from the usb.On F12, if I select usb drive to boot from, it gives "No operating system found" error. If I try with my existing leopard installation by pressing F8 at boot up and choosing the usb drive it gives Loaded HFS+file: [system/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist] Loading Darwin 10.7 Loading Kernel custom Can't find custom Please help edit: I don't know why the booting doesn't work when using my 8 gb pen drive. I was able to boot when I created the installation media on my external hard disk. However I am now stuck on "Still waiting for root device" error during installation.
