  1. ALC888 100% in Snow Leopard x64

Eureka. I have finally fount a kext with working SPDIF in Snow 64-bit. I take no credit (or blame) for this, but it works a treat on my Gigabyte 965P-DS3 rev 3.3 (ALC888). Download page Thanks Bansako, wherever you are! selektor

If anyone has S/P-DIF working, please share. With the kexts linked on this page Sound Preferences gives three Line Outs, no S/P-Dif Out option. The Line Outs do not produce sound. I am using the Optical Toslink outputs on a Gigabyte 965P-DS3 v3.3, which works perfectly in Leopard using Taruga's patcher and a codecdump file. I have been searching for this solution for nearly two weeks and figured a complete audio driver would eventually emerge. Anybody? A link even?
  3. Has anyone successfully created a patchstick for AppleTV v1.1 within a uphuck or kalyway installation of Tiger? I know some of the kexts are modified and wanted to know how or if this affected the patchstick build. Thanks! selektor
  4. Video Cards w/ 2D Acceleration

Would that also include Intel Extreme2 Graphics?
  5. x86 Xbench Results Thread

The shout-outs might have been a little OTT...

Now this is weird. I would've thought TPS would have the ideal kit for osx86. His score is 39.93. How does ZX81 get a 48.15 with almost half the cpu speed? I ran Xbench twice on a Mac Mini 1.4x at the Apple store last night and both times got 47.xx. Those Minis are perky little boxes and I would cobble together an x86 box if I thought it would be comparable. Maybe this question belongs in its own thread but are there advantages in 64-bit and/or Hyper-threading with osx86?
  7. Reverse the release1 patch and reapply the test3 patch. I know that wasn't any help as I don't even know what these patches are or do... but it seems logical enough. Maybe the Patches and Fixes folks might know.

Just for a laugh: Specs PowerMac 7500 G3/500 Rage 128 Pro Onboard SCSI Mac OS X 10.3.9 Score: 5.62 I don't know about Xbench being a "useless metric" but I can say that this score truely reflects how much OS X sucks on this Old World Mac. PM7500_G3500.txt
