1. OSX Mountain Lion on HP Pavilion DV6

I am with @oatcake on this This is a very interesting post and would love to know more! what boot flags did you use with the nawcom mod cd? i have used cpus=8 busratio=12 PCIRootUID=1 and various others and i get a ACPI kernel panic Admittedly i do have a DV6 - 3031TX so it is different I had almost given up trying to install mac on my hp and now seeing this i am all excited How did you do it Lachlan?
2. @Maldon Would you be able to help? I have a nVidia 8600 GT 512 video card with HDMI output. Every time i plug in HDMI it freezes, and it gets stuck on the apple grey screen when i start up with it on I thought having a dsdt that works would fix that. will it? Macri send_me.zip
3. @wusa Have you tried ##### and #####? I have almost the same config as you and that method worked the best for me
4. The First laptop I did was a friends HIS was the HP DV6-2005tx (or as I call it "DV Smash my head against the wall 666) My laptop is the DV6-3031tx. I will update you in about 20 min
5. Mate I haven't even started trying to install it on this system yet! i will contact you with what i did and so on, we can chat and laugh about the good old times My system is a DV6 and an old series I7 720QM not sandy bridge. Your screen size is 17" where mine is 15.6" now i don't know if that makes a difference? Now this isn't the first time i posted something here you can go back and look at my posts The other laptop i "tried" to convert over is a hp too (dv6-2005tx) and that was really hard (it almost made my wife divorce me) but I nearly read this whole forum from post 1 to get it going... I will post back on the forum if it works on this laptop or not. If i encounter any issues like you are experiencing I will then try and work it out with you
6. @Flashe Our system is different the only thing i can see which is similar is the HP logo, so are you asking me (a N00B) to try and help or are you asking Taptun? to be honest mate, all i am asking of Taptun is to patch my DSDT its not like i asked him to fly out to Australia, fault find on my laptop, install 4 different OS's on an external drive, set up my home theatre system and then show him the sites of sydney (look he is more than welcome if he wants ) I am not trying to be rude so please don't take this the wrong way but people like taptun and others on this forum don't get paid for the time they spend fixing problems that we have. To me your problem might be a resolution issue?? (once again n00b) you have to remember we are trying to install an OS on a system that wasn't meant to run it
7. @Taptun You are a legend!!! Thank you once again! Are laptop DSDT the only DSDT you patch? could I be cheeky and ask for you to do my desktop? or am I pushing the forum friendship? Macri ACPI_Tables_2011_11_16_07_43.zip
8. Hi @Taptun Would you be able to fix my DSDT please (for MY laptop...not the one you did before (thanks again to you and Komano) which was for a friend of mine.... which was a nightmare of a thing ... 116 errors !! I should have just thrown it at a wall, at least then i would have slept) Thanks once again Macri The Laptop Config is in my signature ACPI_Tables_2011_10_21_15_49.zip
9. Hi Zell Dinch You need to change your org.chameleon.Boot.plist to include <key>Kernel</key> <string>Extra/mach_kernel</string>
10. Try the 10.7 kernel instead of the 10.7.2 kernel you can find it in the forum over here (mammoth method) post #649
11. Hi Komano and @Taptun Thanks for all the help before and I thought I would give you an update. I managed to install OS X 10.7 using Maldons method (I actually replaced the mach kernal in the installer with taptuns 10.7 patched kernal and it worked) I then created an extra folder and placed all the usual stuff like themes, extensions, smbios.plist and the org.chameleon.boot.plist also and the modified dsdt.dsl from taptun (thanks once again) I am not too certain though of what to put into extension to make everything work? right now i have appleacpiplatform fakesmc genericbrightness (not really doing anything) voodoobattery (not really doing anything shows battery at 0%) sound doesn't work even with a patched version of applehda. i haven't tried voodoohda yet i thought i would ask before i ruin it no sdreader and i haven't tried hdmi yet due to wanting to get the other stuff fixed first and wifi is a no go which i believe is due to no kexts yet for the intel 5100 agn... Cause i used maldons method i don't have a separate cham folder.. how would i update chameleon without a installer package?? Thanks once again Macri81 Edit- I am also running OS X 10.7.2 now thanks to the patched mach kernal from Taptun
12. Hello again I have done everything to the letter. i have downloaded the generic MIID and added my dsdt but i still get a KP (please see picture attached) I have even followed Maldon method and i get a kp as well. (i didnt think it appropriate to put that pic in this forum) EDIT- so i have put cpus=1 busratio=12 and i am installing osx 10.7....maldon method...
13. @Taptun and @Komano Thank you all so very much for this!!! I knew i was out of my depths when i saw all those errors You guys are legends!! ;)
14. @Komano Thank you very much for the help!!! the 64bit version worked (I hope) I am uploading the acpi dump now ACPI_Tables_2011_10_07_07_36.zip
