  1. iDeneb v1.1 10.5.4 Released!

I've had no luck with this. Each time I boot up the DVD, i get a Kernel Panic. Have tried with the cpus=1 as well, but to no effect. Currently running Kalyway 10.5.1 on my Intel Celeron M 1.3Ghz Compaq Presario M2000 series laptop without any problems. Anyone know how to fix the kernel panic?
  2. ALC888 Audio Tearing

I'm absolutely certain i have an ALC888 chip. I've tried two distributions so far, Zephyroth and Leo4All. Choosing the ALC888 package during install in Zephyroth gives me kext loading error. However in Leo4all, choosing the ALC888 package makes the audio work fine. In Zephyroth, I did use the ALC888Audio.mpkg which I got from this forum, but still the same skipping / tearing problem exists.
  3. ALC888 Audio Tearing

I'm using the Leo4all package on an AMD system (4400+ X2, 2GB RAM, NForce Chipset) Whenever I play any audio, the sound keeps skipping and tearing. Any fixes? The system profiler under 'Built in Audio' shows that there is no built in Audio.
  4. Universal GeForce Driver package

Works on 6800GT 256!!! Love u man...been waiting ages for my card to work!!
  5. I have 10.4.6 Jas currently installed on my system. I've also gotten hold of the 10.4.8 Jas DVD. Is there any way I can upgrade my system using only the DVD? Cheers
  6. sadly this didn't work for me. i have a linksys wpc54g with a broadcom chipset (id 4320). it did work fine in 10.4.6, but since i switched to 10.4.8 it didn't work at all. i don't get the airport symbol on the finder bar!!
  7. Jerky Video Playback & PCMCIA Power shut off

But my bios doesn't have any option for disabling legacy usb support! and all my usb ports are usb 2 and so is the hdd anyhow. so how does that make a diff?
  8. Hi all... I'm running 10.4.6 JaS on an Intel Celeron 1.3 / 256MB / 915GML Graphics / Dual boot XP Just a few issues to clean up 1. The video playback is fine, except from when I play vids located on my external HDD (Samsung USB 2.0 / 250GB). Video files on my laptop HDD run smoothly, but from the external drive its jerky. I'm guessing it's got something to do with the access times from the external drive. How do I fix this? (If it makes any diff, I have MacFuse / NTFS-3g installed) 2. If I boot up with my wireless card plugged in (Linksys WPC54g), I can connect to wireless networks. But once I'm connected, and I put the computer to sleep, and resume again, there is no more power to the PCMCIA slot!! The only way to get it working again is to reboot! How do I fix this? Any help would be appretiated. Cheers Aditya
  9. awesome!!! worked great on my compaq presario m2202TU cheers
  10. Hi all, I've managed to get 10.4.6 Jas installed on my Compaq M2202TU Laptop, dual boot with windows XP. Config is Celeron 1.3Ghz 256MB RAM Intel 915GMA Graphics But there's still some tweaking left to do. Would be great if someone could help me out! (I have searched the forums the best I could, and these are the fixes I couldn't find) 1. The PCMCIA card slot is not detected. I plug in my wireless card, and it doesn't recieve any power. Any fixes? 2. I connect to the internet from behind a proxy server which requires authentication. Now the software update / firefox / safari etc all work fine. But I cannot seem to connect to any of the messengers (MSN, Adium etc). I keep getting a messages like "Please make sure you are connected to the internet". I've tried local proxy settings from within the program, and also set the proxy from the network settings in system prefs. But still no avail. Any fixes? Any help would be appretiated. Cheers ADitya
  11. I've got the 10.4.6 Jas DVD. After having a go with VMWare, where it worked flawlessley, I want to now dual boot OSx86 with Windows XP. Now I have around 7GB of unpartitoned space at the end of my 40GB HDD. My present disc structure is as such { 11GB } <--> { <10GB> <10GB> <unpartitioned> } Primary Partitoin Extended Partiton I had initally planned to install OSx86 in the unpartioned space. But a scan through Partition Magic in XP tells me that the unpartitioned space will be unbootable as it is outside the 1024 cylinder range. Is that so? If yes, how should I partition my disk so that I can dual boot the system? Cheers Aditya
