1. Is anyone good in chinese here? I tried to follow this guide, but i can't get it to work. It's a guide for the L502x with clover. He also gave some files for installation Maybe you guys can do something with it, or just as research. http://bit.ly/1kDdKv0
2. Is it possible to create a bootable USB with MyHack instead of Lion Disk Maker?
3. So i did some research on this and i will try to make a guide based on the TimeWalker guide since i have vacation soon I will let you guys know! The only thing i'm not really sure of is: can i use the doix package from mountain lion on mavericks? Maik
4. i have an SSD installed in my XPS L502x in place of the HDD. The HDD is installed in the caddy. I want to triple boot linux, windows and OSX on my SDD (i use linux for work, windows on school and want to use OSX sometimes). I had OSX installed one time thanks to DoiX awesome guide, but never dual or even triple booted it. I was wondering if it is possible to get a triple boot with clover as bootloader, and if someone knows in general how to achieve this? Also, which files do i need for the guide from TimeWalker? I tried to find it in this thread but i didn't. excuse me if someone already gave answer to this. Oh and if i follow TimeWalker's guide, can i do a post install with the DoiX package? My system specs are: Intel Core i7 2720QM 8,00GB DDR3 Intel Sandy Bridge HM67 1366x768 screen Many thanks, Maik P.S: does anyone have the same problem as me? i cannot install OSX from a USB drive, i always get the message 'waiting for root device' no matter wich port i use or whatsoever. I've tried a thousand things, with no succes. I just burn it on a dual layer most of the time, but it's expensive after a while.
5. Hello DoiX, First of all, your work is amazing! I really enjoyed mountain lion on my l502x. I like doing things with my laptop that others don't, so i found your guide and followed every step of it (with some adjustments) I also found this modded bios'es for our laptops (l502x): http://forum.notebookreview.com/dell-xps-studio-xps/635536-l502x-modded-bioses-download-gpu-voltages-more.html It's not my work, but i thought maybe you can expend your guide with it. For example: i see bios'es with this fix 'voltage modded A12 BIOS for gt540m with a nice set of extra options, plus native speedstep and updated CPU microcode, intel vbios update to v2137 and sleep FIX for OSX, handle the new options carefully!' The sleep fix for OSX is very usefull. Maybe you did know about this, maybe you didn't. I just wanted you to know. Maik Verheijen
6. wen1, i think you're guide is copied. Unless it's your site ofcourse. In this guide there are more steps. Something with sound, and the DTST is added later. maybe you can do something with it. Maik Verheijen EDIT: The site: http://x64bitdimension.jimdo.com/uilit%C3%...l-xps-15-l502x/
7. Sorry for the late responding! I was on holiday, with no WiFi at the campsite. haha Well i've done what wen1 and markmac81 said. But no luck, my laptop says No Operating System Found... So i have to boot it with the ##### CD again. When i use no flags it won't boot, something with hibernate image too old. When i use the flags -v GraphicsEnabler=No cpus=1 busratio=22 i get System uptime in Nanoseconds: 493239933 It doesn't work again . Is it because of a wrong 10.6.8 Combo Update? I used version 1.1 Maik Verheijen
8. Yeah sorry, I spelled it wrong but on my XPS it's good. And yes indeed, my resolution is 1366x768 Is that a problem?
9. I now realize how stupid it is to skip the DTST.aml file. Can someone help me out?
10. I'm gonna try to first install Mac OS X on my laptop. instead of Windows 7. Maybe that will make the difference. Also i skip the DTST.aml file. I think it's not supported for my lappy. I'll update soon. Maik Verheijen
11. Hey guys! I did every step of the amazing guide from wen1. It all went well until the DTST.aml file, i think. I have an Dell XPS 15 l502x with the following specs: i7 2720qm (so i use busratio=22) 8GB of ram (I've removed 4GB, because i thought you can't have more than 4GB ram on the installation of a Hackintosh) NVIDIA GeForce GT540m 15,6-inch HD WLED, TrueLife (the cheapest one) 9-cels Lithium-ion Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 My partition table is the following: 1. Windows 7 (Primary) (NTFS) 2. Mac OS X (Primary) (HFS+) 3. BackTrack 5 (Primary) (EXT3) 4. Extended -- SwapData (so i can acces files on every OS, formatted in FAT32) (FAT32) -- DATA (a partition for Windows so i don't have to use the Program Files folder.) (NTFS) When i do the Combo Update to 10.6.8, install the things in #####, copy the DTST.aml file to my Mac OS X-partition, change the com.apple.Boot.plist and install all of the 5 kexts. I cannot boot Mac OS X anymore. How is this possible? I get this message: [ PCI Configuration Begin ] I think it's the DTST.aml file, or the change in com.apple.Boot.plist But I don't know how to solve it. Is there somebody that can help? Maik Verheijen
