    Here is my take at a Hackintosh logo. I just don't like any of the pirate-based symbolic usually found in other Hackintosh logos, because a Hackintosh has nothing to do with piracy - we all have paid for Mac OS X. (Sure, Apple noted it not to be installed on non-apple hardware in the agreement, but such an agreement would never hold up in court. No company can force you to not use a legally purchased product the way you like to - except if you have to hack into it in order to do so. If you buy a book, can the store force you to only read it in your apartment? Sure not.)

    TUX FIRE reacted to Andy Vandijck in IOUSBFamily 10.8.4 Slice+AnV with full AppleUSBXHCI support for any USB3 chip (V12)
    I decided to mod the latest IOUSBFamily sources.
    I modified AppleUSBEHCI for sleep and legacy support.
    I modifiied AppleUSBOHCI and AppleUSBUHCI for sleep support.
    I modified AppleUSBXHCI for all XHCI controllers supported and now also for sleep support.
    I added the Slice errata fix list for IOUSBFamily.

    Please test and report back, I'm sure you'll like it.
    Source is included in diff form.
    I also built USB prober my own way to debug the USB3 parts.

    Enjoy...

    EDIT: One more fix applied: Sleep fix for USB3... V2...
    EDIT2: Little change, it didn't work right so I used the original IOUSBFamily with only AppleUSBXHCI, AppleUSBEHCI, AppleUSBOHCI and AppleUSBUHCI kext plugins replaced.
    This one works right, just tested...

    EDIT3: I implemented controller reset and USB bus restart on wake.
    I also changed it to 1 primary interrupter (can be set to 2 interrupters in the Info.plist).
    You can set the interrupter type to MSI or legacy (can be set in the Info.plist).
    All options are toggeable in the Info.plist of AppleUSBXHCI.
    If somebody could test this with the controllers, especially sleep...

    EDIT4: I changed the sleep code so it uses the reset option not to save the state of the USB3 registers.
    In this case it will not restore them but just reinitialize the USB3 on wake.
    I also changed the sleep code to not save and restore the second interrupter in case UseSingleInt is set (little fix).

    EDIT5: New version with new PM support.
    I modified some of the power management code from GenericUSBXHCI in order to work with AppleUSBXHCI.
    The result is SRE support and fixed sleep for all USB3 cards.
    There is still the option to use the standard sleep code by setting ResetControllerFix to false (/ NO)...

    Thus now we have several Info.plist options for AppleUSBXHCI:
    ResetControllerFix = Use new sleep code (default: YES)
    SleepFix = Set PM card always builtin and allow sleep (default: YES)
    UseSingleInt = Use single interrupter instead of 2 (default: YES)
    UseLegacyInt = Use legacy interrupts for cards that aren't by default in the errata list (default: NO)

    EDIT6: Some more modifications.
    Improved PM code some more, now sets the property for controller reset in case of the new NoSleepForced is set to YES, otherwise value for controller reset will be NO.
    Added Info.plist option for forcing sleep to unsupported (for controller unload).
    The NoSleepForced key in the Info.plist controls this... (default: NO)
    Added USB3 legacy support (and BIOS ownership taking).

    EDIT7: More mods but this time to AppleUSBEHCI, AppleUSBOHCI and AppleUSBUHCI.
    Sleep fix made and applied for AppleUSBUHCI.kext
    Sleep support improved for AppleUSBOHCI and AppleUSBEHCI
    Now deep sleep with PCI power management works for the OHCI and EHCI controllers.

    EDIT8: More fixes to errata and option to always force legacy interrupts (even on Intel / etc...)
    UseLegacyInt in the Info.plist controls this.
    Some minor bug fixes...

    EDIT9: New diff. (V10 patch)
    This version can build a mostly working IOUSBFamily.
    2 issues remain.
    - HandleLinkState only crudely implemented (but seems to work)
    - IsPortMuxed is implemented but the underlying ACPI method doesn't work yet (don't know for which ACPI method to check, etc)

    EDIT10: Add AppleUSBXHCI from Slice and update the diff with the one made by Slice
    A lot of thanks go to Slice for improving the driver (e.g. better check for multiplexed controller, etc...)
    I did some more compile fixes as needed on my machine.
    The IOUSBFamily is now also built with clang 4.1 (Apple LLVM compiler 4.1)
    Again, big thx to Slice for the new fixes.
    It's full custom IOUSBFamily so it should work optimized...

    EDIT11: V12: Removed errata for Intel Panther Point from IOUSBController's errata and upped the current to Intel Panther Point standards in AppleUSBXHCI...

    EDIT12: V12 for Intel... mostly works still power issues with USB2 devices on USB3...

    Now for the IntSpeaker and Volume Slider

    After examining a Macbook Air's layout.xml and platform xml, I realized that there were multiple nodes for internal speakers, rather than the 2 usually used by hackintosh versions of AppleHDA.kext.

    See:

    Notice how almost everything seems to be connected, either directly or indirectly, to Stereo 27 (Audio Mixer Node), which maps to Stereo 28 (Audio Selector Node). I figured that must have been the determining factor as every patched AppleHDA.kext for IDT only uses two nodes. In my case it would be 13 and 19 for internal speaker. This is probably documented somewhere officially, but I hypothesized that the output connection should include one or both of these nodes. Perhaps this is somehow applies to internal connections as well, but I'm not sure as yet.

    I haven't tried using one or the other, perhaps that will work too and I'll figure out soon enough, or someone else will.

    ******UPDATE****** At least in my case, both nodes are needed for output connections. Sound assertions errors and no inputs/outputs detected without both nodes. Also, internal connections already have a mixer/selector node and should work as expected.

    End result: Just add both nodes between the two previously used.

    Like this

    That's it. Compress, install AppleHDA.kext using your usual method, repair permissions/caches. Then reboot. It should work fine, again, assuming pathmaps/nodes are correct.

    Extras:

    -PreAmp/PostDelay are both listed as 100 on three Macbooks I've investigated. I've tried 100, 150, and no string at all. but haven't noticed any differences, More testing required, but this seems to affect amount of power driven towards output with certain audio playback. Probably will be fine with no string at all or use whichever pleases you.
    -Real Macbooks have digital processing under IntSpeaker, but that exact key kills audio for IDT on hackintosh.
    -Headphones have "headset_dBV" key on real MacBooks-untested as headphones work completely fine
    -MuteGPIO seems to be the most important value as changing it to an incorrect value kills audio entirely, even if it is only changed for one input/output value.
    Example: I changed MuteGPIO to 3 for IntSpeaker, like a real Macbook, resulted in no inputs/outputs detected.
    Changed MuteGPIO, for internal mic, to 1, for the same reason, same result.
    DefaultVolume key on real MacBooks-didn't see any effect.
    MaximumBootBeepVolume key-I believe this would affect the start up chime. No effect with different values.

    Final note: Even though I got the kext to work how it should, I'm interested in general understanding so I'll update with more information as I'm still learning how different configurations function.

    Now for the fixes.
    FOR THE MICROPHONE:
    Does not show up in system preferences, follow the information posted by Zoltankr, but with a modification.

    Some info about the internal mic.

    My original verbs:
    ATAPI Unknown Mic at Int Top 17 0x11 0xd5a30130 01171c30 01171d01 01171ea3 01171fd5

    Fixed verbs:
    ATAPI Unknown Mic at Int Top 17 0x11 0xd5a30130 01171c30 01171d00 01171ea3 01171fd0

    how it looks in ML:

    verbit does a great job, but it's not perfect.

    We need to replace 01171fd0 with 01171f90 to set mic as internal device.

    Bits
    Hex     76 54 3210
    -------------------
    71cf01 = 00 00 0001 - Port has a jack - It is External - Rear Location
    71cf02 = 00 00 0010 - Port has a jack - It is External - Front Panel Location
    71cf59 = 01 01 1001 - No External Port - ATAPI
    71cf18 = 00 01 1000 - Port has a jack - External - HDMI
    71cf90 = 10 01 0000 - Built In Device - Internal - N/A
             | | ||||
             | | |--------- Location part 2
             | |------------ Location part 1
             |--------------- Port Connectivity

    Take a look:

    Let's add "Ambient Noise Reduction".

    Change 01171ea3 to 01171ea0.
    3 and 0 => connection type. The value should be 0 "unknown connection" type.

    Open layout12.xml then remove:

    and add Signal Processing.

    take a look:

    The information works to show internal microphone and get ambient noise reduction, but MuteGPIO value is needed. For this codec with VREF=80, the value is: 1342242828*
    Note: If this does not work, a codec dump is required to see VREF value.

    That's it mic should work after you compress and reinstall, assuming you already have the correct pathmaps in Platform.xml.
