    Coreservices get corrupted

I've been running my hack for two years as my main production machine and it works fine. Meaning everything works all hardware all software. 10.5.8 (10.6 wont really work on my celeron 1.5ghz it hangs all apps). However once in a while things start hanging / crashing or it wont boot properly anymore. When I replace the entire /System/Library/CoreServices filder with a backup it usually fixes everything again. This leads me to believe that the coreservices become corrupted. Since in these cases onyx or repair disk permissions won't work. Its manageable but I think its strange that a perfectly running system suddenly stops working and "corrupts" files. This makes me doubt in investing in a new hack versus an actual (way too expensive) mac. In the future I want a system that does not spontaneously stop working. Does anybody have a similar experience or some light to shine on this?

[How to] Intel GMA 900 done right: full QE/CI for leopard

Look really interesting, however I just fried my main laptop's gpu. So I dare not try to overclock it without more success stories.

[How to] Intel GMA 900 done right: full QE/CI for leopard

Actually yes I did have that problem. Bought extra ram but that did not help. So I'm back to 10.5.8 which runs just fine...

Works fine on my acer aspire 3620 in Snow Leopard 10.6.2. I do get minor artifacts though. Not mouse artifacts but here and there on the screen. Thank for the kexts! ps if someone knows how to get rid of the artifacts let me know

Can you recommend on a USB Wifi device?

I have the same laptop. I'm working on getting lan and wifi to function. Did your lan rtl8101e/8102 work without modifications? If I get wifi working with some atheros kext I will let you know. Btw does sleep work for you? got lan working only with arch=i386

    ATI ATA Chipset Imporved

I ran into the following: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...30895&st=20 Going to try this! Also by Chun-nan http://code.google.com/p/darwin-ataport/ but no real info there... I know its an old topic but I'd still like to get leopard working on my laptop at a reasonable (pata-harddisk) speed.

    AppleBCM440XEthernet initDriverObject failed problem

Same problem using ideneb's leopard 10.5.8 kernel applebcm440Xethernet: initDriverobjects failed I actually had it working for 1 hour, but I do not have a clue what made it work and now its gone again no matter what I try... Replacing with an old ionetworking does not work for me either.

    Malfunction AppleBCM440xEthernet.kext in 10.5.7

Could you put your working kext online somewhere? Do you install the kext in the extensions root or do you insert it into the ionetworking kext plugins...

    SB400 Leopard

Has anybody succeeded in installing on an ati x200 chipset with an sb400? In tiger this has always been a problem the ata access would be so slow that installation took practically forever. Solution was to install osx through vmware than install these kexts: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=13413 And than boot natively. I can't get leopard to install through vmware, spinning beachball on starry backdrop is as far as I get.
  16. Got it working reasonably well with tiger and zappadoc's ata driver. Will try leopard as soon as download is complete.. I'll let you know.

All AMD users. Let's get united! DINOSRULES

Same here (1.8ghz targa turion mobile) got everything working including x700 ati mobility. Used ati ata fix to speed up my system which worked great. However the cpu starts cooking and the system is way too slow. I know of no way to check my real current cpu speed. Slow speed plus too hot cpu with 10.4.8, 10.4.9 and 10.4.10 I also tried the speedstep amd powernow cool and quiet kext but could not get them to work. As this laptop is getting older 2 years now I have doubt that a fix will be found for this old sinlge core mobile cpu speed issue...

    OSX on Turion 64

Turion 64 single core here. Got everything working on my 1.7ghz (targa) laptop with x700 ati mobility (which was/is a pain to get working) but indeed its slow. Even when I'm not really doing anything my cpu feels its hard at work (it also get quite hot). For example running the system profiler, just seeing which processes are running takes 30% of my cpu usage. I've been trying 10.4.8, 10.4.9 and 10.4.10 all slow... I might try leopard but doubt It will be faster.
