  1. [UEFIPatch] UEFI patching utility

I just checked and VT-d is disabled, and always has been. It is the default for this motherboard. I have never looked into SSDT because I never needed that for my machine. Maybe because I was using NullCPU? What is the best way to get up to speed and learn about SSDT?
  2. [UEFIPatch] UEFI patching utility

I have been trying to boot with a patched BIOS without NullCPU and having problems. I used the installation method that worked for me in the past, I use Chimera bootloader and have my custom edited DSDT. In the past I only installed NullCPU and FakeSMC. I am using the NAF92-Q67 motherbaord with i7-2600K CPU and HD3000 graphics, using one HDMI and one DVI output. The first time I booted it seemed to crash on the CPUManagement. I tried booting with GeneratePStates=YES and it doesn't seem to crash on CPUManagement, but rather is getting stuck at AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB. Does that mean that maybe this patched BIOS has allowed me to boot without the NullCPU kext, but there is something else in my setup (maybe graphics) which is getting stuck now, which was NOT getting stuck before when I was using NullCPU?
  3. [UEFIPatch] UEFI patching utility

Hi thanks for this, but if you read my post you will see I had no problem patching my BIOS files. I just wanted to point out how the two versions of the Patch Util behave differently, and the newer version crashes, while the old does not. I'm assuming that the output files are the same though, with the newer and older versions? If you see this attachment, you can see the problem I have flashing the BIOS. This is a problem with the version 7 BIOS from Jetway, as the older versions all work fine. This is not a problem to do with the Patch Util, just a coincidence that this v7 BIOS crashes the newest Patch Util but also will not flash onto my motherboard.
  4. [UEFIPatch] UEFI patching utility

Interesting to note that using version 7 of the BIOS for the Jetway NAF92-Q67, the fresh download from their website, I am unable to flash my motherboard anyway! Version 7 was released to add support for Ivy Bridge CPUs so obviously there is a lot changed. I ran your patch tool (both versions) again on my MacBook Pro running OS 10.8.4 with version 6 of my BIOS, and all seems OK. So there is something strange about this BIOS version 7 file that won't flash on my motherboard and is crashing your patch tool. And flashing the version 6 bios, patched with your tool, is OK.
  5. [UEFIPatch] UEFI patching utility

Just want to say that flashing my BIOS with your patched file worked. But not tried booting anything yet......
  6. [UEFIPatch] UEFI patching utility

Hi, First of all, many thanks for this tool. Similar to genzai (back on page 23 http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/285444-pmpatch-uefi-patching-utility/page-23?do=findComment&comment=1928839) I am playing with Pro Tools systems on the Jetway NAF92-Q67 motherboard. I am currently using version 4 of their BIOS, but the latest available is version 7. I tested your utility, downloaded from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?8866wtwhp4wi7 Both the 0.5.11 and 0.5.13 versions, running on OS 10.8.4 on my MacBook Pro. I tried to patch both BIOS versions 4 and 7 for my motherboard. Here is the output. So it's interesting to see that Jetway changed something between the different BIOS versions, and your utility crashes only with one of the BIOS files. I haven't tried to flash the BIOS yet
  7. hd3000 with chameleon

i am using this version of chameleon: http://www.osx86.net...updated_...html with this board: http://www.jetway.co...oname=NAF92-Q67 please see attached my current edited dsdt i am using. is it possible to use the hd3000 graphics by editing my dsdt further? dsdt.aml.zip
  8. is there a graphics card that

but this means two kext edits which isn't "out of the box" really? i would like to be able to have a 100% clean lion installation with just the extra stuff on a usb stick.
  9. is there a graphics card that

is there a graphics card that: just works with chameleon (not chimera) is single slot had two dvi outputs is available in the shops now. thanks!
  10. maintaining backups with chameleon

is it possible to make the usb drive have only an EFI partition?
  11. maintaining backups with chameleon

what happens if you unmount the bootloader after you reach the desktop? i guess it has done it's work and no longer needed? or there still may be references to the kexts?
  12. maintaining backups with chameleon

ok, i've seen this: http://onefallinghope.com/2009/12/27/hidin...nd-snow-leopard but you still see the usb stick in disk utility.
  13. maintaining backups with chameleon

yeah, there are a bunch of solutions for the USB thing, all cool. one thing, is there a way to 'hide' this usb bootloader from mac os? like ejecting the drive once you get to the desktop? or does it need to stay mounted?
  14. maintaining backups with chameleon

i have just tried this and it works 100%. Format a fresh USB stick, 1 partition, GUID, HFS+. Run the chameleon installer and choose this USB stick with default options. Then copy the extra folder from my already working 10.6.8 install to the root of this USB stick. then take a fresh sata drive and restore to it a dmg of a 10.6.8 installation i made simply by running the 10.6.3 dvd and the 10.6.8 v1.1 combo updater on a macbook pro. so the drive is 100% vanilla from a mac install and i have the usb stick to boot the machine and to hold the fakesmc and nullcpu kexts! i think i just may get one of these 'nano' usb sticks: http://www.delock.com/produkte/index.html?...=Speichermodule then this can just sit in one of the usb holes on the back and i'll never notice! my sata drives now fit with my existing workflow for backups and system images etc..
