  1. Andy does your dsdt have the edits for audio? If so, could you point us in the direction of doing them ourselves in the case we wish to make our own?
  2. Should just follow up. 1. Looks like the lastest Areca driver doesn't work with my specific older card. Going back one version brought back my missing drives in Mtn Lion. 2. My sound has always been flaky and I think the chip just died (now I get no sound even in Windows). Going to RMA the board Overall I think if Andy releases an updated patcher this process is almost perfect. Not sure how others are fairing on sound. Also I found a zero length file named "*" (star) in /System/Library/Extensions. Bug? Anyhow thanks a lot Andy. You've made the whole process easier by an order of magnitude.
  3. Thought I'd add my own experiences to this. The first thing I did was update the BIOS. That worked great. 1. I tried Andy's guide with 10.8.2 (latest from App store) and it took a really long time on the loading screen (it was waiting for something). I was patient and it finally loaded the first screen. That seemed stuck so I just waited (around 10 minutes) and it finally became active. 2. I then went on to try to do the install. I got a message it says I am missing "Essential System Software" 3. OK. So then I downloaded ###### and created another usb stick. This failed to boot. 4. I then used Andy's bootloader to boot into the ###### created USB stick. This worked. 5. I installed Mountain Lion, and ran the package. Everything worked except sound and my areca card. Since I need both of those and I could not get either to work, I've decided to revert to Snow Leopard. However I'm now unable to use the older Andy boot cds to boot. Restoring from my backup doesn't seem to work either...
  4. AppleIntelE1000e.kext for 10.8/10.7/10.6/10.5

Hi hnak, I'm having another issue causing kernel panics and I'm wondering if you are anyone else can replicate it. If I enable Screen Sharing (VNC) on the host hackintosh, and connect from another mac and start doing a lot of network activity, I can cause a kernel panic. Has anyone seen this? Sorry for being vague, but I'm assuming this is related to the NIC driver. I'll see if I can capture a screen shot of the kernel panic (usually when this happens, I can't see it as Screen Sharing just stops responding).
  5. Asus P8P67 Pro install guide

Hi Andy, Can you update your boot cd to have the latest AppleIntelE1000e.kext? There was a nasty kernel panic bug that hnak fixed.
  6. AppleIntelE1000e.kext for 10.8/10.7/10.6/10.5

Been running over 24 hours now, and no issues. Thanks for the fix!
  7. AppleIntelE1000e.kext for 10.8/10.7/10.6/10.5

I think that previous kernel panic may have been a fluke. Been running now for over 6 hours with no issues with the new build you posted. Will let you know if there are any other issues but it seems very promising.
  8. AppleIntelE1000e.kext for 10.8/10.7/10.6/10.5

Kernel panic occurred again, but I was unfortunately not able to capture the image. Will try to do so if it happens again, but for now this build does not fix the issue.
  9. AppleIntelE1000e.kext for 10.8/10.7/10.6/10.5

Nothing telling in the console messages. This only happens when I use a network intensive application like uTorrent. It was happening within the first 30 minutes on a big torrent (> 10 GB) with the latest version of uTorrent, but after going back to an older version the mean time of failure is now about 6-8 hours. I'll take a picture of the actual kernel panic next time if that helps. Thanks for the new build. I'll try running it and see if it makes a difference.
  10. AppleIntelE1000e.kext for 10.8/10.7/10.6/10.5

Thought I'd add my experiences with this kext as well. In general the driver seems to work fine, however with a good amount of network traffic, I can cause it to get into a kernel panic relatively quickly. I can do this by running utorrent on mac for a download that takes a long time (try a 4 GB iso for example). I'm running 10.6.7 with a Asus P8P67 Pro/intel 2600k cpu. My kernel panics always have the error along the lines of "m_free: freeing an already freed mbuf" Anyone else see this behavior?
  11. Asus P8P67 Pro install guide

Hey Andy, I installed a working OSX using your boot cd method, which installed the ATI kexts for my Sapphire 5870 card. Everything seems to work great, except Geekbench seems to crash as does steam and a few other games. GraphicsEnabler is set to no, and QE seems to be enabled (I get ripples when adding a widget to the dashboard and Cinebench and some games work) so its not like hardware acceleration is off. Interestingly enough Cinebench shows 1/2 the score it shows when I run it in windows with the same card. How do I get steam/Geekbench to stop crashing? I see a lot of people here who seem to run it ok. Any ideas? I'm stumped. Thanks!
  12. Asus P8P67 Pro install guide

It seems that I was indeed missing the AppleHDA.kext for some reason. I copied it over from another install, re-ran your script and sound is back.
  13. Asus P8P67 Pro install guide

None. I had only run your previous package before and that seemed to have done its magic with sound. Forgot to mention this is indeed on a Pro board.
  14. Asus P8P67 Pro install guide

Hey Andy, I downloaded your new boot cd, mounted it, and copied the ATI package to my drive. After running and restarting it, I've lost my sound. Can't figure out how to get it back. Any ideas? I should mention I had originally installed OSX using your first iteration of the boot cd.
  15. Asus P8P67 Pro install guide

Hey Andy, I've just got my build together, and when I try to boot from the CD I made from your ISO, I get an ACPI based kernel panic. What are the boot settings I need to change for it to work?
