1. Just a simple beginner's fault?

Just to let you know: Yesterday, in an unmindfull moment I ran auto-update to 10.6.8. Sound wasn't working an after reinstalling the audio drivers via ##### (the one i used for installing to 10.6.7 - probably my second fault) I#m stuck at the very beginning and the Computer doesn't start. Hell. I wonder if im going to install Windows 7 now...
2. Just a simple beginner's fault?

So. Added the kexts for the mobo, repaired permissions and it seems, that everythings working. Thanks for all the help. Unfortunately I will have to update the os since lion is out in the meantime...
3. Just a simple beginner's fault?

Jesus, it's been a long time. I'm back at the machine and found out, that neither USB3 nor internal sound device are working correctly. So i think i have to change some of the board's kexts...
4. Just a simple beginner's fault?

i will check the computer related things later, but you gave me a smile in the morning.
5. Just a simple beginner's fault?

a little bit off topic first: since i'm not natively speaking english (you may wonder ), i sometimes have to look up some words or phrases. I wondered, if you were trying to make fun of my nick name so i asked mister google for that. I still don't know for sure, but I found this very exciting link I have to share with you http://www.yatego.com/trenditionals/p,4d70...dalmatian-lady- Sorry for the little excursion to german fashion, now BACK TO TOPIC!! ---- My soundchip should be the same as yours. The board is Rev. 2, the board's manual and gigabyte website say it is ALC889. And my Audio Setup in System Profiler looks exactly like the one you've posted (btw: i've been workin on Macintosh computers for more than ten years and sometime ago Ifound out that having system profiler as a dock icon is quite helpfull... ). But in the system prefs, there's no output device device detected, unless i connect my USB Headset. If it is connected, all sound are avaiable, if not they're greyed out. I double-checked all the jacks, but i remember having some problems when i ran windows seven on this computer. Somehow the motherboard/win7 recognizes, if there is a plug in the jack or not, if not there is not sound in windows either... Does it work with your board? And another question: is USB3 working on yours? I don't have any device yet, but any USB2.0 HDD should work in the yellow ports on the back, don't they?
6. Just a simple beginner's fault?

YEEEEEEEEEEES. Thanks a lot, mulcyber. Andy's ATi Fix did it. Now I only have to fix that minor audio problem I have: Still I can't get any Sounds out of the Audio/Headset Ports from the motherboard. When I connect my USB Headset, it works perfect. But OSX doesn't want to give me any sound on the lineout...
7. Just a simple beginner's fault?

How can I replace the boot file in my hdds root directory? I'm don't really know how to do it via terminal, but what i tried to is to dlete the boot file (sudo command). But terminal asks for password, which i didn't set yet... [edit] Found a tool called "XRay", made the boot file visible and replaced it in Finder. Still interested in the terminal command, just to do sports [/edit]
8. OSX 10.6.7 /GA-H55M-USB3 Problem

9. Just a simple beginner's fault?

wow. this is a lot of stuff to read. First thing for me to say is, that i will go on with the empire efi boot disc. ##### is not running on my machine for any reason. Second I'm not afraid of modifying my dsdt. the link you posted seems to be a complete step-by-step guide, so I propably give it a try. Third "Andy's Ati fix" process, just to make sure I got that right, is like this: - run ##### and install Ati drivers – install ATI Package.pkg - set Grafic enabler to "Yes" - include "<key>AtiConfig</key> <string>Duckweed</string>" - restart and done..!? That'll be very easy than... hoppla, I forgot to say thanks this time. therefore: thank you, that's very helpfull.
10. OSX 10.6.7 /GA-H55M-USB3 Problem

11. GA-H55M-USB3/ATi HD 6850 Problems after update...

I only have sound when i connect usb (sound-)device to the computer. didn't try sound on hdmi... Though it won't help you, my grafic card ist xfi hd6850. sorry.
12. H55M USB3 Reboot Problem

yes, chameleon is used. but i think i dont understand your linked post completely... does it mean, i have to reinstall the whole thing? Actually I think, my Problem is that i don't understand the "Post Installation" Part from your guide. Do I only have to add the posted code in the boot.plist, or ist "Vanilla power management (SpeedStep) and Restart fix" a chameleon feature that i did not find yet? thanks again.
13. After complete install via Empire Efi and ##### and combo update 10.6.7 everything seems to be fine, but I can not restart the computer automaticly. Have push the reset Button or even hold the Power-button... Does anyone know? thank you.
14. GA-H55M-USB3/ATi HD 6850 Problems after update...

what? I'm not sure if i got that right, but... sound out of the grafic device? Sorry, I feel like a complete noob again. But keep me informed, if you get that problem solved!
15. OSX 10.6.7 /GA-H55M-USB3 Problem
