  1. 10.5.5 update broke Marvell Yukon 88E8056

mcoelho80, read post #6. It turned out that the solution of copying over that kext from 10.5.4 wasn't a good one. Instead, follow the instructions in #6.
  2. 10.5.5 update broke Marvell Yukon 88E8056

Okay, I think I solved this one. 1st, forget about copying over AppleYukon.kext from 10.5.4. 2nd, just modify AppleYukon2.kext/Contents/Info.plist with the PCI ID for my 88E8056. Works after reboot. Credit goes to macmaniac for his post in this thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...&hl=88e8056
  3. 10.5.5 update broke Marvell Yukon 88E8056

AsusZ84JHelp, I just followed netkas' method for the combo updates every step of the way 10.5.2->10.5.3->10.5.4->10.5.5. No boot problems and this is the first time that I've had any driver problems with the Ethernet. raiden2k5, unless I'm mistaken, the HP530 has a Intel 82562GT 10/100 adapter. I don't know that my problem with my Marvell Yukon adapter is related to yours.
  4. Hopefully this will help someone else. After update from 10.5.4 to 10.5.5 my Ethernet stopped working. In Network settings, it showed the adapter but said that the cable was "Not connected." I noticed that the AppleYukon.kext driver wasn't in /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns anymore. I copied over AppleYukon.kext from a 10.5.4 machine and ran kextload AppleYukon.kext. Ethernet immediately started working. Unfortunately I have to do this after every reboot. I even deleted the 10.5.5 AppleYukon2.kext--no help. Anyway, hopefully this might assist someone else having the same problem. If anyone has insight into a real fix, I'm interested! Motherboard is Asus P5K-E with onboard PCIe Marvell Yukon 88E8056 (11ab:4364)
  5. I feel like I'm missing something simple here. I am trying to install Kaylway on an ASUS P5GL-MX board (915GL w/ ICH6), but I get a kernel panic when it tries to load the IOAHCI kext. I've tried adjusting about all BIOS options that I can find to no avail. It doesn't seem to have an option to choose AHCI or not in BIOS. Btw, I have a SATA HD on SATA1 and a SATA DVD-ROM on SATA2. Anyway, is anyone having trouble installing on one of these older ICH6 board? thanks
