1. Optical drive just use lot of space for nothing. Get yourself few high capacity USB sticks and you'll be good
2. Tonymacx86-NVIDIA-Update

Hey everyone, I posted similar post yesterday and I thought i sloved my problem but unfortunately it didn't. I used to have working 10.6.7 with tonymacx86_nvidia_update driver. I downloaded version 2.1 yesterday, but cant get my gtx460se to work, it can't recognize it I would really love to get the version 1 of this drivers, cuz it worked out of box for me Is there anyone having those drivers to share or something. Best wishes, dusan ps: I have accidentally deleted driver from my backup disk
3. Hello again, I've downloaded Lavalys Everest, but i couldn't extract DSDT because i was unable to find ACPI tools as mentioned in that tutorial, you gave me link to. So I used DSDTSE for windows and extracted it from there. Here is my DSDT.dsl, but if I am honest, I don't know where to go from here. I couldn't attach that filetype so I posted it in codebox. Hope that's good enough Best, Dusan intelS5000psl.txt.txt
4. I also believe you have problems with gtx460 like myself
5. Hey, thanks for your answer, I've read some links and as far as i now understand, the DSDT data is present inside my motherboards BIOS, I only need to extract it and then start patch it for my need. Now if i am correct. After I do this (theoretically, since it looks pretty thought job for me atm), I need to create bootable ##### disk, which will include this patched DSDT, so that the system doesnt hang up and I can continue with installation? Or am I missing something?
6. thanks for your response. I also disablet onboard ATI gpu, now i get to logo screen but thats it, nothing is loading or anything. I've done some changes in BIOS too, like enabling AHCI. I didn't quite understand that part with DSDT, since i am a bit poor on that issue I would love to understand it, but it's still confuzing. So if i understand correct. I need to patch MB with DSDT from win or linux? Or do I only need to get some generic DSDT and load it in win/linux witha apropriate program and edit it? Can i use DSDTSE for that, since i have another hackintosh here, that works pretty good? Thanks for your time, btw, if you give me link to good resources for DSDT i will check it for sure, try to understand it, so I can communicate with you folks here easier Best.
7. Well my system is like this, taken from debian linux, CPU: Intel® Xeon CPU 3.20GHz GPU: Graphics on board is ATI ES1000 // and i put in one nvidia 8400gs, which i used in my first system for testing, so it works 100% with ##### + #####. no soundcard on this borad, but i will use external via USB.
8. Hello all, I have some 4-5 yrs old machine that used to be office server. It have Intel S5000PSL board EFI capable actually. I tryed to install SL with ##### + #####, but after inserting SL DVD all i got is blank screen. Have anyone succeded in installing SL on this motherboard? If yes, what are the BIOS settings? Maybe I am missing something there- Thanks in advance. LINK of MB: http://www.intel.com/products/server/mothe...sl-overview.htm
9. Hello m8s, this is my second hackintosh. I've build it on friends pc. The only 2 things i notices is that vt-x support is not working/enabled (i think problem is in MB, lacking options to enable/disable VT-X). If I am wrong, please correct me or suggest how to make it work on INTEL DG41-CN (think REV-1.0, but not 100% sure). Since friend don't need virtualisation at all, this first problem is not that annoying. The second problem is that when i power up the machine, it will not boot. It gets to the disk and then MB shows some error, like it didn/t recognise booting media, blah blah, and show me link to intel support for motherboards, to check there for help. Well tehre is nothing at all on that link, they moved it. I can boot into the system very simple, by pressing boot options on bios diagnostics startup by pressing f10. And when i choose disk manualy from the list, the system starts to load from disk So I wonder what is the cause to this weird behaviour? If anyone got the clue let me know. 10. GA-G31M-S2L onboard sound

11. [SOLVED] Asus EN8400GS 1GB Silent drivers?!?!?

Hi m8, I havent had any problems with upgrades, I just needed to install my drivers again after reboot. Thats all. My EN8400GS works with EFI string in com.apple.Boot.plist and by adding my card ID to the NVDANV50Hal.kext like in that tutorial i linked in my post. Thats all i have to do after every update. I hope this helps <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=i386</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>1</string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>device-properties</key> <string>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</string> </dict> </plist> NVDANV50Hal.kext <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>CFBundleDevelopmentRegion</key> <string>English</string> <key>CFBundleExecutable</key> <string>NVDANV50Hal</string> <key>CFBundleGetInfoString</key> <string>NVDANV50Hal (256.00.15f04)</string> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>com.apple.nvidia.nv50hal</string> <key>CFBundleInfoDictionaryVersion</key> <string>6.0</string> <key>CFBundleName</key> <string>NVIDIA NV50 Resman Kernel Extension</string> <key>CFBundlePackageType</key> <string>KEXT</string> <key>CFBundleShortVersionString</key> <string>1.6.26</string> <key>CFBundleSignature</key> <string>????</string> <key>CFBundleVersion</key> <string>6.2.6</string> <key>IOKitPersonalities</key> <dict> <key>NVidiaRM</key> <dict> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>com.apple.nvidia.nv50hal</string> <key>IOClass</key> <string>NVDANV50HAL</string> <key>IOMatchCategory</key> <string>IOService</string> <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> <string> 0x10c310de&0xfff0ffff //ADDED BY ME; FOR MY EN 8400 GS custom !!! 0x00f010de&0xfff0ffff 0x019010de&0xfff0ffff 0x040010de&0xfff0ffff 0x042010de&0xfff0ffff 0x05e010de&0xfff8ffff 0x05f010de&0xfff0ffff 0x060010de&0xffe0ffff 0x062010de&0xffe0ffff 0x064010de&0xffe0ffff 0x06e010de&0xfff0ffff 0x086010de&0xffe0ffff 0x08a010de&0xffe0ffff 0x0a2010de&0xffa0ffff 0x0ca010de&0xffe0ffff </string> <key>IOProbeScore</key> <integer>60000</integer> <key>IOProviderClass</key> <string>IOPCIDevice</string> </dict> </dict> <key>OSBundleCompatibleVersion</key> <string>1.2.0</string> <key>OSBundleLibraries</key> <dict> <key>com.apple.NVDAResman</key> <string>1.2.0</string> <key>com.apple.kpi.iokit</key> <string>9.0.0</string> <key>com.apple.kpi.libkern</key> <string>9.0.0</string> </dict> <key>OSBundleRequired</key> <string>Safe Boot</string> </dict> </plist> Hope that helps. Good luck! I forgot to comment you: 1st code window: This is my com.apple.Boot.com, last two lines are EFI string settings for my ASUS EN 8400 GS silent. How to make EFI string for your card can be found above in the previous my posts. 2nd code window: Scroll down and look for my comment. Thats the line i added to the NVDANV50Hal.kext. Just watch for the //ADDED BY ME; FOR MY EN 8400 GS custom !!!
12. [SOLVED] Asus EN8400GS 1GB Silent drivers?!?!?

Ok, it worked for me. QE/CI enabled. Display control enabled from system preferences. I am using VGA-output, since my monitor is old LG. System Snow Leopard 10.6.6 installed by ##### + SL retail DVD + #####
13. [SOLVED] Asus EN8400GS 1GB Silent drivers?!?!?

I've tryed those methods. Now HW profile shows me 1024mb of ram with nvenabler.kext, and no EFI string, but still cannot get support for QE/CI. I've found another interesting post considering 8400GS, so here is link. Haven't tryed it yet, will do it later. Interesting article about Nvidia 8400GS Will try it and report if succesfull.
14. Hello people, few weeks ago i decieded to make myself a hackintosh. I downloaded ##### and original SL DVD. I did some research and i ordered, let's say "only compatible HW". Unfortunatelly it's not that way actually Beside that i cannot get sound to work on the motherboard, I am more annoyed by my graphics card. I cannot make it work QE/CI anyhow. So far I've tryed 1.) GraphicsEnabler = Yes // not working - HW properties shows that i have 32mb vram 2.) NVenabler //nothing happens, it doesnt recognize my card, 32mb vram 3.) EFI string // i am curently using this one, but still no QE/CI but at least i managed to config my graphic card to be recognised as 1gb vram. I am looking forward to try to make custom DSDT. I've found a nice topic on it. I'll try it later and hope for the best. If there is anyone using same Graphic card and managed to get QE/CI support with it, please enlight me. I am stuck in position for a week now. Thanks in advance, feel free if you need anything else from my side. I am quite advanced user, so i guess it won't be a problem if you put some technical details on. I'll manage it.
